@@pockystyx4087 yeah I was wondering why he wasn’t using both with white mask/mushroom crown, seems like a build with all these things would be very good.

quick note, when weapons come in pairs (like the claws) you get the 2 handed heavy attack when two handing, and you get the 1 handed strong attack while dual wielding
@@justinheaps6219 Double damage for each tick of posion, but it only lasts a third of the time! While the damage of regular poison is higher overall (I think) fights don't normally last that long so deadly posion usually comes out on top.
@@dragonunchained9987 Yeah it would have been nice to see a difference between poison and deadly poison like in Bloodborne. It does say this in the description, but having a proper indicator would be helpful! "The black fang protruding from the bronze snake head is coated in deadly poison."
The Venomous fangs are brilliant, deadly poison and bleed are wonderful when combined as they will stagger at different times in a combo. The claw weapons also have the fastest BHS counter moves (strafe dodge and immediately attack will do your backstep attack animation).
There's actually more to it! It's one of two weapons (other one is that serpent bone blade katana) to apply deadly poison, which deals a little over twice regular poison dps, while only lasting 30 seconds instead of 90. The katana can't be infused, but this one can. Occult gives the best poison buildup and better scaling, but if you poison infuse it the poison is extended to 90 seconds. If you put BHS on it you can keep pressure up, meaning they won't be able to cure it without being punished.
I would almost recommend venomous fang with a backup weapon that has poison moth flight, then have Kindred of Rot Exultation. You'll get 20% added AR and poison moth flight allows you to refresh KoREx at any time.
I mean, you can slap BHS on the venomous claws. BHS is a basically free way to keep pressure on people, while those claws inflict extra strong poison. Infuse it with occult for max scaling from arcane, or poison to extend the strong poison from 30 seconds to the usual 90 if that's more your speed.
I really had high hopes for war cry to start up faster, but it didn't happen. And instead of doing something for the short weapons, they give a ridiculous 5 step lunge to a random axe. Thanks from.
@@thegk-verse4216 yea I noticed that only a few weapons would really get a lot from warcry, and sadly you can't even get a lot of ashes for claws, why does the two poison ashes not available for claws when they are the natural place for them since claws are kinda the statuses weapons.
venom fang is also one of the best rl1 weapons because no stat reqs while doing decent damage on its own even without scalings and you can pair with another infused claw and have 3 affinities going at the same time
I started maiming claw weapons in my 6th play through, the move set is so good, raptor talons is the best claw weapon in my opinion, occult is op and the heavy attack is insanely good
Cragblade ash seems very nice for the claws since the buff applies to both claws when powerstancing, unlike normal powerstancing. Also unlike regular powerstancing, you are technically 2handing so your attacks wont bounce in shields and such.
The bloodhound claws are probably the best shield bypassing weapon there is given their speed, ability to be infused, weight, and innate bleed. maybe a grave scythe with sword dance could match it, but even then its a trade off of atk speed/low weight for reach/poise dmg. Its a good idea to always have a pair of these for pvp to quick swap to if you run into a turtle build.
One thing i noted with the raptor talons, it also deals a bit more damage with air attacks. Which it notes in it's description so it's basicly the meh in ar but all the special attacks that you use gets better damage than the other claws. So you could do a charge attack build or jump build on the talons for more added flair.
I agree I just switched from bloodhound claws to talons (both with bloodhound step). And both claws are +12. according to the attack stats, talons are only slightly lower in damage, but they feel way faster, have way better main attacks, and the lunging charged attack really helps with the first main hit. With bloodhoundclaws, I miss hits a lot more. Overall, the talons substantially outclass the bloodhound claws in my opinion. I can kill things way faster with them, and they are way cooler/more fun to use because you can flip around with them. Wonder why do few have caught on to the power of these claws
I believe the Blue Dancer only gives a bonus when your equip load is below 15? Also, one of the things that makes claws really shine is being able to throw an enchantment on them and then activate dual wield mode for extra crazy buffage!1
I am going through the game as a claw/fist build. I missed the venomous claws, and I didn't realize the poison was stronger, so I'll go get those. I find the jump attack with claws is very good, and it does a fair amount of stagger. The claws do stunlock some enemies, and sometimes I've found myself hacking a boss to death with zero stamina because as long as I keep doing light attacks it keeps them stunlocked. The big problem with claws is the range, and I swing and miss a lot. The benefit is the fast attack because you can beat most enemies to the first strike. I do not have the bloodhound claws. It occurs to me that if you are two-handing them you are getting a 50% strength bonus, so the strength damage should scale quite high. Or, another way to look at it, you need less points in str to reach the soft cap. Heavy infused bloodhound claws might be quite good. I also like the Barbaric Roar AoW on claws because it gives you quick uninterruptible heavy attacks, and that is heavy scaling.
... why would you not use the mushroom crown and the lord of bloods talisman in addition to the pest talisman? If you get bleed and poison procced near each other you -should- boost your attack by 60% without other buffs.
The attack buff on poison procs apparently stack with themselves, so if you use that poison moth flight AoW to un-poison people you can buff your damage far beyond 60%
If you apply the poison affinity to the venomous fang, you get the longer poison time with the added poison damage that the weapon provides. That, along with the Mushroom Crown, can do insane poison damage.
I prefer the shorter poison time as the Mushroom crown stacked with the Kindred of Rot Exultation gives attack bonus for limited time after poison procs. More procs = more damage.
@@mecynogea why not? Pretty sure someone used that to remove the deadly poison on their serpentbone blade build. I can't think of anything else that would be different to prevent it.
Yeah it's pretty dumb how inconsistent they will be with things. All those blades in the same category as fists when claws already exist ? Can't put impaling thrust on katar when cyper pata have unblockable blade ? This kind of nonsense
@@thegk-verse4216 I'm making as many support notes to Bandai-Namco as possible. I'm just tired of some of the weapon inconsistencies. I'm still salty that the Knight's Greatsword doesn't have a thrusting attack.
I think my next playthrough will be claw only with one pair of claws for poison/frostbite, then switching to full bleed, possibly with Bloodflame Blade using the Clawmark Seal if I get the time to buff.
Is there a way to cold/lifesteal, cold/bleed or poison at the same time? Like cold and another. I can see people walking in pvp and wouldn't see that coming. Granted only if cold is broken and the amount of slow is massive in pvp. Just get in and claw cold build up. Get status and sidestep their attacks and continue to hit them. They roll slow and you are still on them and hitting them after the Invincibility frames are gone. Continue until they drop. If they hit me. Cool.. that is when lifesteal takes place and you continue to hit them more.
For the venomous fang. I want to do a quality build having that be pretty much a secondary. Thing is, I want it to have bleed. I don't want to add anything really to arcane so I only have it at 15. Will it be a decent weapon if I put nothing into arcane but make it a bleed and poison weapon?
You’d be better off having no investment into str/dex and instead focusing all of your points into Arcane until it’s at 80, after that you can focus on HP, Stamina, and Focus Points without having to worry about anything else.
