This One Took All Night. Toyota And Ford Saved by Jeep!

  • The first job was a Toyota Tacoma that was stuck near Enterprise Reservoir.
    It was almost a 2 hour drive to get to where they were.
    We were able to get them pulled back up to safety and just a few minutes.
    The second job was a Ford F250 stuck on the Smiths Mesa Road near Zion national park.
    A foot of snow has melted up there over the last few days. And the roads are a sloppy mess.
    The first pull put him in a little worse position, but we were able to change the angle and set up for another pull that was successful.

    I am a retired woman faithfully watching your videos. I don’t do any kind of off roading but I watch and look forward to every one of your adventures. A lot of them, including this slimy muddy one make me so stressed. I find myself pushing on the floor with my right foot as if trying to pull people out along with you! You are such a nice man and you have a wonderful family. I appreciate your kindness to others and your clean language. Keep up the great work. Your Northern Utah neighbor. Say hi to Ed!

    I was driving a bike once and a rabbit ran in front like that. I turned left ,the light followed and the rabbit went left and I turned right only to have the same thing repeated. As my bike overtook the rabbit the rabbit fell behind the cone of my light. As I was preparing to release a sigh of relief My bike started hopping like I was holding on to a jackhammer. Apparently having a rabbit caught in your spokes unbalances the wheel. Fortunately for me the rabbit was soon released from the blender and struck my right foot with the force of 2.5 kilos X 80 kmph. This flung my leg back to the point I was still holding the handlebars but layed out in the superman position. This is how I learned you wash blood off clothing with cold, not hot, water.

    Dec. 5, 2019----Anyone notice when these yahoo's get stuck, they're NOT prepared in any way? NO sleeping bags, NO way to even heat water for coffee, hot chocolate, etc. What the hell would these people of done if there was NO cell phone coverage in their area? Used to drive truck and water pump went out on me in the Area 51 area where there is NO cell phone coverage. This was on Christmas Eve and sent breakdown messages to dispatch who NEVER answered them. Why? Owners gave ALL the dispatchers/office people Christmas Eve & Day off....and as for us drivers with problems, you're sol. Two drivers from another company saw me as they headed for Vegas and on the way back (day after Christmas), they stopped to see if I was still there. Took me to the nearest town where I quite loudly and verbally ripped my dispatcher a new A hole. Between waiting for the tow truck driver to pick me up, get me back to town, get another truck from company yard, transfer all my stuff from broke truck to new one, didn't head back to Reno until late that afternoon.
    Coleman sleeping bags were okay....when you had a working heater and I found out it gets DAMN cold out in the desert at night.
    Once back in town, took some time off, buying from Ebay, 2 military sleeping bags rated to -40, along with a single burner Coleman stove and from Walmart, 2 propane bottles, cans of soup and apple cider drink mix. I always had 2 gallon jugs of water with me along with the normal food (sandwich) stuff. I retired and since then when I do go 4 wheeling, everything's in a large tote along with 2 different sized shovels, 1 military surplus, the other also from Walmart. Also a 20' tow rope and 30' tow chain with shackles in case I or someone I met gets stuck. Mother Nature and your ignorance WILL bite you in the ass if you're not prepared.

Extra clothes is a must as well, if you get stuck and you are out trying to dig yourself out most likely you'll be wet, and cold, you'll want some clean warm clothes to change into to help avoid hypothermia. Bring food with you that doesn't need to be cooked as well, peanut butter, crackers, that type of stuff.
      A flare gun with several flares is a good thing to pack too in order to signal for help.
      Sounds like a lot of stuff to pack around in your vehicle but the first time you get stranded somewhere you'll thank yourself for being prepared.

Normally not a dime to your name but gas in the 4x4 and life is good. Never had the ability to call a tow service or for that matter had a phone with a long enough cord to take with. I am very grateful you do what you can to help people I hope you make enough of a profit to live well. What you do I would have considered fun but it does wear on a vehicle. I have the same ford only with a diesel. In the 18 years I have had it I have never gotten so stuck that I needed help. However it has 35” tires and I carry recovery gear. Dropping tire pressure is usually enough to get me out of a stick but that’s some nasty looking mud there.

    Matt, I have a 100 ft Torpedo handling line. (The original Yankum rope). I keep it in a military flight bag. The flight bag has a long zipper and its easy to get the line in and out. Keeping the line in the bag keeps the inside of my Jeep clean when the line gets muddy. The bag is easy to turn inside out for cleaning. You can find this kind of bag at any Army surplus store.

    • @badgerpa9
      @badgerpa9 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not think the jeep is his sunday driver, I just throw some cardboard on the bed of my truck and when it gets dirty enough use it to start camp fire. Never need to wash it. works great for muddy dogs too, they do not fit well in a small bag.

    • @mmcss1155
      @mmcss1155 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@badgerpa9 Your method makes a lot of sense and sounds super easy. Keep in mind my Torpedo handling line is 100 feet long with pretty good sized metal eyelets on each end, and feels like it weighs 100 pounds. Having it loose in the back of my wrangler would be a nightmare. My line coils neatly inside the flight bag and I've yet to get a knot or snarl.

(Just ribbing you I own 2 WJ's and think they all suck the same) If you watch his videos his dogs are in and out of the back and are fun to watch in the videos, mine will fight me to jump in the back of my truck.

If you forgot to lock the window the could reach in and unlock your vehicle and get in (for example my friend used to have a 1991 F-150 and that’s how he once unlocked it to get his keys inside) 2. Cars manufacturers simply want the windows to have a sleek design

    I have to say I’m shocked you don’t have a couple dedicated setups at this point. Or at the very least different sets of tires.. those tires are great in sand and rock, but they really are no snow or mud tire. Snow not as but a deal cause you can always chain lol.. but I think it would be really worth it to setup another 92 or new Cherokee just for these mud extractions. Mud is a little bit different animal especially that slick clay that stays like ice underneath. But I think some really good knobby full mud tires would at the least make some of these mud extractions a lot easier. I’d even consider something a little heavier for the rig myself.. exterras can be had cheap, similar type running gears to a Jeep so you’ll be mostly familiar with how to set one up but the added 1000-1500lbs loaded down with dedicated mud tires would be a huge improvement especially for these bigger trucks. Being might and floating in top is good if you’re wheeling mud but not so much Inc you’re trying to find bite and pull something 2-3x your size.. I could fill an entire dumpster with all the rear shafts and bearings if destroyed in my Jeep over the years trying to snatch out bigger rigs or even a buddy’s Jeep that is fully framed out and suctioned down. I also know you’ve been thinking about mounting a winch on your rig.. I don’t think you need to do that.. I think what you need is a separate helper rig with a winch and some pullys. And one of those anchoring devices. Let them setup and anchor one side while you snatch the other sideways. It would be like pulling the vehicle completely sideways out of a ditch rather then trying to drag it back to a rutted line. Hard to describe if your not familiar with what I’m saying but we use that a lot here in the south. Granted we have trees most places to run the winch around but they make an an anchoring system that works with rocks and sand that will work in prob all but hard pack clay with that slush top coat. Just some things to think about.. anyways enjoying your vids! I love to actually see you just wheel one time instead of just doing extractions lol.
