Hate that we won't be getting anything new with the Forspoken universe, like a sequel could easily take this to the next level, really enjoyed this game...
I agree. Take this same combat system, add some new power sets and technical upgrades, and then actually hire a professional, competent scriptwriter. Would love to see it.
@Sagegabs There's plenty of videos and other spaces where ppl are over hating on the game, and yet you chose to respond to a positive comment about it lol? I've clearly played it already and formed my opinion, what a waste of your time little kid lol..

I'll be damned, but I enjoyed this game a lot. I think the story had a lot of potential but was killed by the game giving us a not-so-subtle lecture on social justice. Edit: there IS a point to the open world: it's designed in a way so you can parkour from place to place (requiring skill, which is a good thing!). It's quite satisfying when you can smoothly get to your next point.
I appreciate the video actually getting into the details of the game! Idk if you were already aware, but the last half second of your lines were frequently cut short in the edit
I get that the main character comes from a rough upbringing in NYC but you would think that she would warm up to a fantasy land and start to have character development from snarky teen to unwilling and self professed hero, but no. She stays working against the game and the player. The world felt less fantasy and lazy instead of rich and colorful. That being said I think the traverse system is awesome and unique to any game.
Been holding off on buying this, but considering the sale, I'll pick it up. I'll also be subscribing. Awesome video man, looking forward to more of your work.
The combat system and traversal are the main points that keep this game playable. I love the idea of having different types of magic to choose based on what I'm facing. But the variety of choices has a downside; Somewhat grindy path to upgrade them. (Playing on hard, so many common enemies are spongy) Launch price of 80 bucks were way too ambitious for an AA-grade studio and the reason for most criticism.
I was one of the people that was hyped for it before release but it was a huge let down imo. The whole experience was extremely unsatisfying and the only thing I really enjoyed was the water powers... could run around for an hour at a time just being a waterbender. I thought the story had promise but it was fumbled so bad it became almost irrelevant. Just overall really disappointed with this game and really wish it could have been better.
The beginning is some of the cringiest, God awful crap I've ever seen. The whole gang interaction seemed like it was written by a child. Absolutely atrocious.
It's shocking how terrible the first two hours of this game are. Once you get into the main game, it gets so much better. What a baffling design choice.
Iv just completed the game and thought it was pretty enjoyable. Story does gets better towards the end. The game lacks depth but makes up for the fresh gameplay of zipping through the open world. Also the sountrack is very Square final fantasy like. Lets not forget about the action cinematic scenes, top quality.
I am currently playing it, and am on chapter 7. Honestly, I am really enjoying it. I traversal system and combat system are quite good. Regarding the dialogue, it genuinely doesn't bother me. I grew up in the 90s, and pretty much everything at that time was quippy. Quippiness doesn't bother me, and I found it amusing at times.Frey's personality also doesn't bother me. Thus far, she seems down right demure compared to other Gen-Z characters I've seen. She's not over the top with her attitude, and I can get where she is coming from. This game came out when Marvel's quippiness was also starting to fall a bit out of favor, so there was an overall downward trending attitude to that type of dialogue. This game came out right dab in the middle of that, and I think this was a game where a couple of channels online that were popular took issue with the dialogue, and it became the popular thing to jump on it and make videos trashing it, thus creating the cycle of negativity. "I just moved **** with my mind..." Yeah, I'd be incredulous at suddenly having powers, and say something like that too.

About 10 hours in myself. I’m quite surprised by the game. It’s visual line of the best looking games I’ve played. Both technically and design wise (omg the clothes are so good). The combat is fun and quite original. The setting is unique enough that it keeps me on my toes. Story seems a bit meh so far. The only real downside is the gameplay design of the open world.
