Great review! The 3D platform fighter style is super interesting and surprised it took so long for someone to come out with one. Don’t seem like it has the same charm as Smash or Multiversus, but maybe this will inspire others to create similar styles!

yeah its cute and all but def not the same charm

I think its strange its not free to play, the same model as smite would work for me. the Animation looks amazing, the art style however does not, i think they look like skins rather than base models lol.
Thanks for the high quality game review! keep it up brother, God bless

A lot of fun regardless of the lack of some mechanics. Hopefully, they will improve the game!

i played this game for a bit now, and i can see the potential if they listen to feedback and do some quality of life fixes with some interactions like how athenas parry loses to stuns even though parries in almost every fighter wins against most answers in the game

i can see potential but i still feel like its a bit too simplistic personally

    Great vid
The làck of erial fighting option is a big problem and if fixed will make the game much better

yeah would be cool to see! but i'm also not confident in them adding new mechanics like that at this point in the game

I'd argue that the lack or verticality is due to being 3d, I think it'd be much more difficult to have vertical characters than the 2d games, but it is something I noticed when I first played (ps I've been enjoying dko). There are however some characters that have much stronger aerial play and verticality, (Susano and Amaterasu) who coincidentally are probably the strongest characters in the game and can be the most frustrating to play against. I'd argue the game isn't really like a moba other than the abilities, which, mind you multiversus had. Personally I love the different maps, but some traps are definitely frustrating to deal with (especially in 2v2 and 1v1) as they can interrupt the pace of a round or game. I'd also argue the simplicity of the gameplay is a positive, for I've always struggled to get into platform fighters because they were so difficult. I always had to spend way more time practicing than actually playing just to hop in a match and get dumpstered on anyway. Of course that's just my own personal opinion, and other people likely had a much different experience. Overall though you make mostly fair points, though I do think the game is a bit more fun than you give it credit, but that's all subjective. Ps. If you play smite it's really cool to see all the parallels in character design and how they adapted them to a platform fighter, Thanatos being the best example of that in my mind.

i think my main thing is that it gets a bit repetitive after a while. no real variation in how you engage and fight. it's by no means a bad game and you can def have fun, but personally I didn't find it THAT fun - but again - i think quality of matches can make a diff

@@JamesLikesGames yeah I understand that, especially because at times it seems whoever spams light attack the hardest wins. I kinda hope they add longer recoveries on whiffs, because even if I dodge the first hit of a light chain the enemy could just keep attacking and hit me anyway

Yeah exactly. Sometimes it can feel like it just comes down to who has the better animation

Needs a quick turn or something camera sucks in this game but I still enjoy it.

yeah its by no means bad, just think it needs a bit more and some tweaks

Pricing this game 25 bucks will probably sadly be its downfall. So mana MOBA's are free to play and have way more engaging maps, characters, and combat even without paying for anything. Great video man

yeah it might end up in one of those death of a game videos haha

My biggest concern is that it's a Hi-Rez game. They have incredible ideas for making a genre feel fresh, but they're notorious for squandering potential
I'm hoping this is a game they take seriously. They're sitting on an opportunity I wanna see flourish

yeah hi-rez is pretty good at making fun games, but also pretty good at ruining their own games

I really enjoy this game I got the 25$ version so I could play with my ps friend. I'm a fighting game guy so I was excited to try it out. First thoughts the neutral kinda doesn't exist, I feels basically random depending on the connection, your attack will get beaten out or "Interrupted" "Counter" with buffer timing when I should get "clash", this is more apparent when you fight 28 ping warriors who can't get punished because they can just dodge during active hitboxs. Then recovery in this fells off like theirs something missing you have 1 jump, 1 air light, 1 air heavy, dodge every 3 sec, and resets if you get hit. Alot of the moves try and hit you high so you have more falling distance than actual distance, for edge guarding it ok cuz most characters have a mobility move they can ether cancel or use for kills like that, but it's under when things get annoying. Theirs an automatic wall climb, it's completely random you'll be two characters below the wall and still climb and other times your head will be poking out but you'll just fall and die, this is especially annoying when I'm 20-50 percent and fuck up recovering or my dodge won't register so now I'm too far down and I'm just stalling for 3 sec cuz my moves on cooldown. I do see a future for this game (and it's not in a bad state) but right now it have a lot of problems it feels like the game is missing mechanics I hope this game doesn't turn to shit, I really like getting stupid kos even though I know I don't deserve them.

yeah def agree with a lot of what u said. neutral exists, but it can often feel like it just comes down to who has the better connection and quicker animation. i also noticed what you mentioned about the wall climbing and how it can be a bit finnicky
like you said - the game might have potential, but there are some clear issues rn and my concern is that HiRez is gonna mess things up again
