Upon doing so the Giants turned to stone, albeit some could move around perhaps with limited capacity, while others were immobilised.

      Man didn't need to be taught how to sin worse and worse. We are perfectly capable of sinning on our own without demonic influence.
      Jeremiah 17:9-10
      9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
      10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
      Romans 1:28-32
      28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate (adokimos: failing to pass the test, unfit, worthless, counterfeit, unapproved) mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
      29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
      30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, *inventors of evil things,* disobedient to parents,
      31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
      32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
      --All one needs to do to see this today is turn on any Liberal social media feed. Immorality is praised as being "love, morally just, tolerance, inclusion" with those who practice and promote "progressive" Liberalism (atheistic Marxist ideologies) being praised, called "stunning and brave".
      Keep in mind that the part about being worthy of death is not saying we should kill anyone who practices such things, but these are sins that God will judge them for and throw them into the lake of fire which is called the second death. Of course, in the Old Testament people would have been killed under the Mosaic Laws if they committed such things.
      Romans 3:10-12
      10 as it is written:
      “None is righteous, no, not one;
      11 no one understands;
      no one seeks for God.
      12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
      no one does good,
      not even one.”
      Isaiah 64:6
      *But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;* and we all do fade as a leaf; *and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.*
      Romans 3:19-23
      19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, *and all the world may become guilty before God.*
      20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
      21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
      22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
      23 *For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;*

    I've watched a few reviews on this and none of them have likened it to M. night's The Village. Maybe it's a fleeting memory (i do remember enjoying the village, generally like most films ) but a great trailer fools you into watching a group of people stuck in the woods, fear of the unknown 'creatures', mild story develops between them, very let down by the resolution. Nearly the same runtime 1h 42m vs 1h 48m. Released 20 years apart almost to the month. Is it just confirmation bias? 😅

    I felt it needed an extra 20 minutes of Dialogue between the characters to build a better relationship with the audience and less showing of the creatures in the middle of the movie to bring more tension.
    Also the film kind of creates a sense of each character was brought their for a reason but never pays off, it would've been nice to have some type of spiritual meaning to the group at the end of the film to really pay it off m, kind of like how Signs did.
    Overall I would give this a 6 out of 10 rating.

    I have enjoyed every Shyamalan movie. Good or Bad they are original. Like Jordan Peele, he tells stories he wants to see. This is why I like a lot of Blumhouse movies as well.
    She is obviously inspired by her father. The concept is very interesting and thought provoking. Even though I saw the ending coming, all the ideas kept me interested.
    It is weird and different. With a story that is too simplistic. Even Dakota Fanning, one of the greatest movie actresses ever, can’t do much with such a thin script. Hollywood has been terrible for years, so even Shyamalan bad is pretty damn good.
    I will probably go see it again next week. It is what it is. It’s the movie they wanted to make.

    I actually really enjoyed it I felt pretty engaged the whole time. The final ending did feel like it was missing something, but I like the extended fleshing out it did. I still don't know who ordered the bird though. I couldn't have been the professor to lure somebody there right? Because he died long before they arrived.

    I liked everything, but the second ending. If it would've ended with the bus, I'd've walked out really liking it. Instead, I walked out with mild enjoyment. It still wasn't bad, but I kept thinking if Until Dawn and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark had a baby.
    One key that it wasn't M. Night directing was there wasn't a character with weird, stilted dialogue. I still liked this one, though. I'd watch it again

    This is one I think you should revisit, the movie is more about Dakota and not about the thriller elements. Yes you are right it was marketed as horror, and it has those elements but it's a movie of transformation wrapped up in a thriller blanket. It did have some things that could of been better but over all I think it's a good watch without alcohol, and this is a movie that is not a sequel, super heroes, remake, over 2 hours long or woke garbage. Very refreshing to see something outside of the norm.

    I had the exact thoughts. Just got back from seeing it, and well, about one-third of the way through the movie I remembered hearing that it was based on a book, and that got more and more apparent the longer the movie went on.The first half was *awesome* and I loved it. That started petering out around the first "ending", and then the movie just kept going and I just kept getting less and less interested. I gave it a 6/10. The first half was so good! But then I'd say most of the last half I just really didn't like.
