Hi Stephanie! Your new fabrics look lovely, and I expect to see those sewn up in your next Friday Sews! 😘😘😆 I order from a few places that have the hang tags with the fabric info. For the rest I use the KATM labels so I don't have to remeasure every time I pull it off the shelf 😉 The cotton jersey is a more stable fabric; it does have the recovery, but not as much stretch. I've reduced my decorating to more of a minimum.... I'm only good for a few hours in an afternoon and then I want to be done with it. My favorite part is fixing up the tree 😍 but usually a runner on the kitchen island, too. Happy sewing!
Love your fabric haul... I love the plain burgandy too ..I am more of a neutrals person but love your prints... have fun .. can hardly wait to see what you make.. Your green house is so pretty ..
One year for Christmas Eve, we make tamales, I surprised my granddaughters and daughters aprons the crossback pattern. 6 aprons they were so excited about them! What fun!
Love the gingerbread green house, especially when you turn the lights on :) I never had good luck with DBP, no matter the source. I love to knit with bamboo, but have not purchased bamboo fabric. I’m learning as YOU go! Thanks Stephanie!
Love your “gingerbread house”. Such fun to have the grands over to experience the wonder of it all. I’m dying to look up the fabric that you bought especially the red one. Great for the holidays and beyond. I’m sewing and embroidering for my great grands. I’ve been working on an advent calendar for days. Thought I’d send it home with them on Thanksgiving day.
I'm happy to hear that you are sticking with your natural fibers journey. I can't wait to see what you decide to make. Currently, I am working on my first pair of denim jeans using natural fibers of course. I just have to topstitch the waistband, add the belt loops, add 2 rivets and hem them and they will be done. Your greenhouse is adorable.
I was always under the impression that spandex and Lycra are the same. Only the name is different. What is important is the percentage of spandex / Lycra is used for the amount of stretch is required for your garment. Your fabric choices are beautiful.
Those fabrics are very pretty! Years ago fabric stores in my area were giving labels with each piece purchased that gave the care for the fabric - they came off something like a Scotch tape dispenser, but that fell by the wayside. Now I take a picture of the info on the end of the bolt with my phone, as I've only ever shopped in person. Your description of breaking up with poly sounded like the end of a relationship - glad you're moving on 😁! The gingerbread house idea is wonderful! I'm making Xmas aprons for two little grand-nieces while I watch and just finished a Xmas dog print bandana for a neighbor's adorable dog.
Hi Stephanie, I've only shopped on Etsy a couple of times I'm not very familiar with it like I am with Amazon but I would love to be able to pick out some nice fabric on Etsy.❤
Thank you for suggesting Frankie Rose Fabrics - I can’t wait to place an order with them!
