@@Leon_SKennnedy Basically, the Games we all play are just a Compiled version of the Source Code. Obtaining this code means you have Access to the Complete game without restrictions. You can see the AI, and how it works, How the Missions work, how literally anything within the game Works, and you are free to adjust, add or remove things to your liking. In the right hands, this is basically an Invitation to be a Developer yourself. This also effects things like Cheats, that would be out on Day 1 that would be undetectable, aswell as harmful mods that could infect players without them, or Rockstar noticing. I'm sure you know about the Cheating situation in GTA5 online? That they are able to get you IP, Location, Phone number, and properly much more? They did all that without having the Source. Now try to imagine what they can, and will do with the Source. You starting Online could very well enable a Hacker in the Lobby to have Access to you entire System.
hopefully this could serve to open Rockstar's eyes to the real danger of hackers and modders... they could just not care until they get to feel it on their own skin
I’m a man by myself trying to investigate into this to see how likely that would be to occur. From what I see, he will get caught within the week, so while he’s free, he’s obviously scared. I mean he literally deleted his account in fear of being caught. He’s done for, but let’s hope he is also just done without the for.
Not to forget that with the source code of iether GTA5 or GTA6, someone could completely rip off the game 1:1, as well as making extremely unfair hacks and possible server side access
love to see grand theft auto 6 information, theories & leaks, but i hate to see something like this that could potentially push the release date back and effect rockstar…
It's not just about a game. It's the thousands of employees at rockstar who have been working 100 hour weeks and dedicating their lives to the job. Also the potential damage to the company and loss of earnings which could impact real people's lives that actually work at rockstar. Sorry. But it's not just about the game, it's also a criminal offence as hackers could also decide to hack you or your bank account, its the potential for this person to cause further damage or fund more illegal activities. Hope this helps 🙏
@@pprince78 whoa whoa. Relax my guy. Whoever did this is obviously in trouble. Extortion is a crime. My original comment was being a smartass about how a largely memed game; once thought never was going to be developed is definitely going to have delays over this petty hacker. Cheers mate 🥂

Honestly man, I think the leaker handled this situation extremely poorly. He was in no position to bargain with Rockstar Games/Take-Two. Him leaving his telegram out in the open was ultimately the end of him, I have no doubt Take-Two Lawyers reached out to him instead of any Rockstar Devs. While I want to feel bad for the guy, I honestly can't since he's been flaunting what he's doing this entire time, even going as far as to brag about his previous Uber Data Breach. It's almost like he was begging to be found. Should have just privately sold the GTA V Source Code to someone and left it at that. Like I get that GTA 6 is a big deal, but he handled this in probably one of the dumbest ways possible. If he was smart, he could have sold off all 90 videos one piece at a time after the first official GTA 6 trailer hit in order to skew expectations. This dude is gonna get sued throughout all the nine realms by the time Take-Two is done with him.
He had what could be considered as 'sensitive information' that rockstar didn't want getting out just yet. That alone put him in a decent position to bargain with them...he just went the wrong way about it.
@@ccmemes5898 Ever heard of hiring a private investigator? Trust me, they're going to soon be using the same tactics on this hacker that he used on Rockstar to get the assets to begin with. Have you forgotten just how rich Take-Two Interactive is?

Best way to figth a sniper is with another sniper. Best way to attack a hacker is with another hacker. And best way to protect the code is with an additional line of code. Code verification with another code. Similar to a game code that needs something to go. Like a key.
Professional software developer here, This won't delay the game at all. The version of the game that was leaked is almost certainly an early build. Judging by the rigs, and how they were set up it was likely a sub branches of the game used to test certain features. It's not a big deal if the source code got leaked as the code will likely be very different once it releases.
@@iliketoast2078 delaying the game won't magically make the source code dissappear. That makes no sense whatsoever. Avarage people's knowledge of technology is absolutely shocking

I love how Rockstar creates a game which main component is to steal and hack anything and everything, yet when glitches or leaks happen it’s all “woah hold on, not like that! That’s stealing/cheating” 😅
There is nothing at all to suggest the game could be delayed. Also Rockstar and Take Two are literal legal powerhouses. A little black mail will not hurt them as they will sue the blackmailer into a homeless shelter
Imagine if Rockstar announced yet another delay for the release of GTA 6, the amount of negative publicity and negative sentiment among their fans would be huge. But thankfully for Rockstar, they have this major 'hack' that supposedly undermined the timeline of the development. How convenient.
Nah he won't get life in prison, he hasn't killed anyone but he'll easily get 10-15 years. No professional developer would go anywhere near stolen source code because it could put a whole project in jeopardy if it was used. So they don't have to worry about competitors getting the source code. But they do have potentially have to worry about people using the source code not only to develop cheats, but to pirate the software prior to release. It could just be a backup server for old builds that he has access to, since nothing provided seen has been recent. In which case most of the source code is going to be outdated anyway. If Rock* are smart, they're not going to have new builds stored on the same server. It really hinges on what they have access to.

The leaks aren't the Problem. The Sourcecode going public on the otherhand, is a real problem that is going to effect the development significantly.
@@TarezOfficial how so?
@@Leon_SKennnedy
Basically, the Games we all play are just a Compiled version of the Source Code.

Source code leak can literally cancel the game.

Let's be honest, this would've never happened if Rockstar showed us atleast one screenshot of GTA 6
I doubt it. This guy obviously wanted the attention and money from Rockstar. People will eat up anything related to gta VI regardless if we had a screenshot or not
Bro if we had trailers this would still happen
I think Rockstar kinda deserved it. I mean they scammed us with the GTA Definitive Edition, and also let us wait a decade without any new GTA.
How did one guy do that, I feel like it should be way harder to just hack something like that.
I mean it took 9 years
@Admin IT it could’ve been a multitude.
He apparently got the source code from slack.
TGG so much respect for you for not wanting to encourage this person's behaviour.
The only thing i really want from gta vi is for it to be in vice city and that we still get private sessions. I hope to god its not public sessions only like rdr 2
I wouldnt even sell high, i dont want to get rich, probably do 1-5k a video, and be gone
All of telegram servers cant be got by the police the owner of telegram made it so no one can see chat logs or servers

Best way to figth a sniper is with another sniper. Best way to attack a hacker is with another hacker. And best way to protect the code is with an additional line of code. Code verification with another code. Similar to a game code that needs something to go. Like a key.

The GTA 5 source code being leaked is fake. The hacker who tried to buy it confirmed that.
Professional software developer here,
This won't delay the game at all. The version of the game that was leaked is almost certainly an early build. Judging by the rigs, and how they were set up it was likely a sub branches of the game used to test certain features.
It's not a big deal if the source code got leaked as the code will likely be very different once it releases.

It's sad that R* started developing GTA VI by this time, I wish they started development since.
He really said “life in prison” 😂😂
What triggers me is that some r…ists get less time than that.
