Wish I had seen you excellent build videos when I started modelling. Even now after building tho scanias, you gave me a lot which I learnt from. Keep up the good easy to follow postings. Thanks
Well done Teri, a brilliant presentation, definitely a masterclass in Tamiya Gearbox assembly, great video, dialogue and tips/guidance, with principals relevant to all forms of modelling .. take your time, read the manual, prepare your work, establish the goal and look forward to a rewarding result. And these boxes are fiddly.
Hi Teri! Great Instructional video and yes I love the tiny circlips 😂😂 Had a bit of a tedious time with them, but the roller bearing MA12 for the gearbox build went running off the workbench onto the floor and ran underneath my american fridge.. colorfull language all in 🤣🤣 managed to get it as the fridge is on rollers.. needless to say I changed all the wheel set for axspeed steel rims they look great and there was no bearings for the original plastic front wheels in the kit?? so a spending I went MA18 equivalent hop up £18 for four sealed steel ball bearings for the front set and a poison motor for the 3 speed transmission.. my my... this hobby is expensive I thought my volvo 240 estate was bad! thank you for the instructional video as the Tamiya instructions are a bit naff.
the kit only comes with bushings, not bearings.... and tell me about this hobby getting out of hand with all the possible upgrades. where do you draw the line? and I was looking at buying another Volvo. a short while ago. I had at least one from 1987 up to 2018. Started with a 360GLT, 940SE Turbo Wentworth, S40S, I even had the VERY rare S90 Executive. I nearly bought a 240GLT in red the other week.
@@TeriWilde jeez! I know never ending aint it, I'm going to put the MFC 01 into it when i get the money!... i spoke to a bloke on thursday there whom i knew had an E 1989 red 240 saloon great condition that was the one with the B21 red block engine 38000 miles! i nearly fell down! not even a first timing belt change!!! I used to see it parked in sainsburys car park, My 240 2.2 was metallic gold GLT estate...traded it in for the 740 GLE 2.5 fuel injection.. plenty of rear baggage space and a flying machine to boot! watch out for the rear shocks on the 240 both versions, and the fuse box on the passenger kick panel (the wing seal) they have a habit of letting water in and flood the front footwell! take off the panel cover and see if theres even a hint of water or condensation on the inside of the panel.. COSTLY!!!
