Don't know how big of a hot take this is but the Forever Knights should have been the villains of the final UA arc. No Dagon, no Vilgax, just the Forever Knights trying to kill every alien on the planet.
The thing with robots, while I disagree with the idea that we need MORE robots, or that the Omnitrix should be able to scan ANYTHING, I also disagree that SOME robots don't fit with the general lore of the Omnitrix. Because, I mean, Diamondhead. Petrosapians are made of completely in-organic material, straight up. But those are ok because we can imagine them with like, what, crystalline organs instead of mechanical gears? Is it just because there's this general concept that non-carbon-based life forms exist in other media and are still generally treated distinctly from robots? What about Loadstar? He's ACTUALLY just made of raw metal, but doesn't trigger the 'it's a robot' effect? Or if he does, then does he not fit like theoretically Armadrillo, Clockwork, Atomix don't fit? And Upgrade is his own entire can of worms on this whole topic too. All in all, I think there's a certain vibe to Ben 10 aliens that can still be maintained with robotic and general artificial designs. They just have to feel distinct and unique, just like any other alien. Chronosapians FEEL more like aliens then say, droids in Star Wars in a tangible way I think. Even within Ben 10 itself, I think they do a good job still of distinguishing robotic aliens from just general robots. But that feeling it hard to definitively quantify and will ultimately come down to personal preference, but there's definitely a discussion to be have more than just 'robots just don't fit.' P.S. I actually do like and prefer the 5YL Design for Atomix. Feels more thematic to living nuclear reactor and more distinct from just being a few lava lamps added on top of a Transformer.
@@sharplosion1 I think it has to deal with the fact, with characters like Diamond Head, or Lorestar you can see how it they can be organic because you see it act similar to his humans and animals act with robots it gives the feeling of it's just metal a robot with no traits that most people would relate that to being alive
If it has DNA or something resembling DNA then it can be an Omnitrix transformation whether it be mechanical biomechanical or even just pure energy like an anodite. It's really not that complicated.
A headcanon I have about Bloxx is that he's a modular robot made of small, self-replicating blocks that all connect together. It'd be cool if Segmentasapiens as a whole were once the machines of some lost civilization which survived whatever wiped them out and live among their ruins. Maybe they're even connected to the Naljian Destructor; they were an earlier form of the technology abandoned when the ancestors of the "Naljian" race cast off their physical forms to become the multidimensional beings we know today.
7:15 This one shocked me actually cuz I've always loved the 5YL way big more than the OG one, he just looks like a giant ancient celestial, like a naked galactus lmao and that always got me more terrified. so I was shocked seeing the masses actually prefer the ultraman toy-like series design more.
I’m gonna be honest Atomix is extremely obvious meant to be a parody of old superheroes (your Supermans and such) like for crying out loud he has the symbol on his chest, the superhero announcer voice, the bulky body. I’d argue removing all of that kinda kills the entire vibe…like there’s nothing in 5YL that actually gives off that it’s meant to parody old superheroes which also means his voice now just..makes no sense man. You’re free to like 5YL Atomix but it really just feels like stripping almost all of the design aspects of Atomix and making something different all together
I like the aliens the original future had. Toepick, shell head, snakebox, Atomic and megawatts. Megawatt having duplication and electricity powers. I kinda agree with the rook take, I don't dislike him but I don't like him either, aside from the episodes about himself or own species (so about 3 or 4 out of 80) there's a lot of episodes where he feels like he's just there. His whole haha I don't understand expressions thing should've stopped by like s3 as well Sorry In advance to all 💀
6:57 Robotboy is the best example of Robots not having to have muscles, you know dude is strong even before he Super Activates. Atomix doesn't need to look buff for the purpose of showing strength, that's like saying XLR8 should have his face mask activated all the time, because it shows he's fast. Or Robotboy should always be Super Activated because it's his strongest form. Or Goku should be in Ultra Instinct all the time because again it's his strongest form. A character doesn't have to look buff in their design to show strength. 🙏
AYEEEEE!!! Been waiting for this ever since you been talking about it on Twitter. I just realized that I put this under someone's comment not the video lol
Omniverse I generally like most of the redesigns. The only problem is that they have too much green on them. Ghostfreak is an example of this. He has 3 shades of greens. His chains are a dark green, his main body is a pale green, and his eye is green. Just change the chains to a different colors.
I like the clothes. Four arms wearing Ben's shirt. I wish it stayed in alien force or omniverse. I think in omniverse Ben wears a green shirt so obviously there's some green clothes like rath. He's so funny. I like the aliens the original future had. Toepick, shell head, snakebox, Atomic and megawatts. Megawatt having duplication and electricity powers. I think if shell head showed up he would be a cacoon.like we have caterpillar, bugs, moths(bigchill) now A cocoon. Hard shell gooey inside. 18:09 Now that brings up a good question, could FMA's Alphonse Eric be scanned in his armor state and become a new transformation in the Ominitrix? And would it come with alchemist powers? Would his soul be included kinda similar to Zs'Skayr, and Belicus and Serena?
If everyone's putting down their own hot takes, then here's one of mine: I liked *some* of the reboot's ideas. More specifically, Vilgax being Azmuth's student gone rogue and Kevin having his own Omnitrix. Sorry to the Albedo fans in the audience.
I think my beef with the way characters changed in Alien Force is less that it happened and more that I wish we saw it happen; I have similar issues with how Young Justice S2 handles its timeskip, where I feel like the stuff that we missed out on wouldve been the basis for some genuinely interesting stories to see Ben go through. The shift from classic to AF isnt as jarring at YJ for me but it sticks out as a major chunk of Ben’s direction as a character we’re probably not gonna see explored down the road
I'll be honest, I liked Ghostfreak's chains! When I first saw it, I thought that it was a new feature the Omnitrix added to keep Ben as himself, almost as if it showed how dangerous the alien is! And while that may not have been the intention, I still thought it was cool and still do, so I like it!
my take with alien designs is that classic's design philosophy is still the best. all the aliens look super cool because they always mess with proportions and aren't afraid to go weird with it. they look like aliens to me. by omniverse they look less alien and more "monster" and all the classic aliens get redesigned with more human proportions instead. i guess an example would be how classic snareoh is alien but omniverse snareoh just looks like a cartoon mummy, dude has elbows n knees n shit i feel like aliens like bloxx would never exist in the universe that classic created
I like the aliens the original future had. Toepick, shell head, snakebox, Atomic and megawatts. Megawatt having duplication and electricity powers. Aliens like bloxx won't exist but diamondhead and upgrade can? When all 3 of them are inorganic aliens. Bloxx easily fits in classic universe especially if conditions are random enough
@@ranjanasharan4051 the difference is the concept. i believe that there's crystalline aliens with crystal like skin, i don't believe that there's an entire planet of gorillas made of lego. Omniverse takes some designs just a step too far where I can't buy them in the same universe as classic, the design philosophy between the two shows is just so different
My Ben 10 hot takes: 1. I don't like Classic Gwen...she was my least favorite character in the show...before she had magic I would always say to myself when watching "Why would you go in when Ben has superpowers!!!" like I know she's smart and knows martial arts but I knew Ben would do it 10x easier, 10x faster, with no risk to himself most of the time...especially when she turned into Lucky Girl...I have appreciation for it now but I got so frustrated the first time with Gwen just running into danger without Ben... 2. I like the idea of Anodites but I don't like how they were handled as them being another alien and I didn't like how they made Gwen one...I have this idea of instead of them being aliens, they're instead like an ultimate form for magic users which would make more sense for Gwen...but just saying that she has alien DNA I think was dumb... 3. Same thing with Kevin, I don't like him having alien DNA...I think he works better as a mutant cause then it adds to the Ben 10 universe a little bit instead of saying "Oh that's weird it must be an alien thing" like they do all the time...
Are they misunderstanding the first take? He says OV gave Ben the most *room to mature* not that he is the most mature. OV having a cocky silly Ben is exactly what allows him moments of growth & maturity which is absolutely does have in eps like Showdown & Store 23
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 I agree. I’m just saying, it’s not really a positive that omniverse gives him room to grow if they never actually explore it.
@@willyodi5 Yeah you aren't wrong That's mainly one of my biggest pet peeves for the franchise. But as it stands every version of Ben has their moments when it counts.
I think the main reason why people don't like Rook is just how he was introduced alongside how the show was first marketed. New Ben 10 series with a more cartoonish artstyle being advertised as a more kids version of the Ben 10 with Bloxx being shown all the time as a Lego alien already gave people a sour taste about the show, and then they immediately throw out Gwen and Kevin, 2/3 of thr Ben 10 trio, making it worse, and throwing in a new character who's design you really have to grow on and with admittedly a very boring personality out the gate. It was not a good start
Not sure of how much of a hot take this is, but ben x Kai should’ve never been allowed to happen. It singlehandedly spits in the face of what makes Ben prime so interesting in the first place. Ben either should’ve stayed with Julie or gotten with Ester, you know characters he actually had chemistry with. There’s also the topic of benrook being top tier, but i don’t think the community is ready for that conversation.
my biggest question with the ov transformations is how other people view the transformations, i know most of them have en literaly morph in real time to become the alien but alot have the same green flash in OS UAF and the same alien has been een with bothe transformation stiles, just look at wld mutt(first to come to mind not the only one), so can people view the transformations when ben is in the white kirby dots "world" or is it sometimes instant green flash and sometimes morbid, gross, visible transitions?
Hot take from me: I really don’t understand why people feel the need to criticise every little thing about a show (ov) when someone (me) says they love it People say ov is overly loved nowadays, but where is that love when I’m actively searching for it? All I see is “worst show, don’t recommend it, ruined everything” and it makes me so upset, because it’s my favorite show of all time, not even just as Ben 10
I do like the artstyle cuz it brings life to the characters and it has fluid animation and backgrounds are so details, the fights are all good not so much on character designs.
I disagree there's plenty of love for Ominverse and what it did, and every show gets its fair amount of criticism, also "every little thing" seems of when I see people criticize the show it's for the big changes they make and how they handle characters which is understandable
The ending of War Of The Worlds retroactively ruined Alone Together for me. They had this incredibly somber moment of Reiny going into selfimposed exile, just for even entertaining the thought that other species might not be so different from his own, just for him to pop up with no lead-up or even a hint and go: 'Yeah, I'm fine now. We can totally live like this." and the other Highbreed just blindly agreeing AND declaring him their new leader on top of that. The way they were portrayed across the first two seasons, you'd think they wouldn't even see him as one of their own anymore due to his impurity. Also Master Control was wasted on that two-parter. When Kuro referred to AF's season 2 finale as 'peak', it kind of triggered me, ngl.
47:31 W for the sonic music anyways my hot take is Omniverse big chill isn’t that bad it’s definitely not good like the original one but it’s not that bad
If Omniverse Big Chill was thin and Ben had learned how to use his lungs in an exceptional way to the point of Inflating himself like Luffy in One Piece does, it would have been incredible to see Ben spit out ice storms
The original series should have had Ben 10 use atomix at the end of the series like unlock it or Ben 10 alien force. Or at least the artists having an atomix design after he got name dropped
20:45 nah I completely get this take. The story of AF was great but it just failed the vibe check of being ben 10 for me. Aesthetic and retcons can go a long way in souring a sequel even if said sequel tells a better story. I had to actively sit myself down and pretend it wasn't connected to the OG continuity before I could enjoy it. Part of this definitely has to do with how old I was already when OG Ben 10 was airing, the transition was a lot less hard for younger people that I know even by just a few years.
8:13 As an Atomix fan, I think removing the goofy personality is a detriment to the alien as well as removing his buff physique. To me, at least, the whole point of Atomix was to be an overblown parody of classic hero archetypes. However, Omniverse fails to deliver on this parody past his debut which is an issue with the show itself. Making him just slim and removing his personality just makes him bland compared to all other power house aliens. They just removed what made him special.
Yea naw Bro 5yl atomix design is absolutely amazing. You can have your opinions but they are wrong. SEE?? ASH GETS IT! ATOMIX IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES BECAUSE OF THAT SCENE ITS SOO GOOD.
Alien X beats the whole purpose of a playlist, if he can just "do anything" why using other aliens? If his point was being this "omnipotent transformation that just works once the three voices agree" okay that gives it limits. Then you have Omniverse and said _"you know what? Fuck it do whatever you want we don't care."_ And the only limit it had doesn't exist anymore. The show should be called Ben 10 Alien X.
Can anyone recommend some novels that are similar to the Ben 10, in the sense that it blends elements and themes of family, action/adventure, exploration, and sci-fi together?
I feel the same way sure it’s cool at first but a bunch of them don’t feel like an important. It’s not like with Mega pokemon where you can see they have 100 stats added to their base stat total.
But isn’t ov ghost freak wearing chains supposed to mean it’s just Ben that z scare personality is gone from the transformation That’s how I see it and I do like the chains because of it
13:40 Alien X is the most overrated creature in fiction and I'll die on that hill. His powers are low reality warping, absurd endurance and cosmic rays. He couldn't even turn back time to avoid the destruction of the universe. Just "made a copy" and not even a perfect one. Compared to feats shown in comics he's ASS. But there you have Ben 10 fanboys saying "but could * blank * beat Alien X?" It's worse than "could it beat Goku" because Goku has a set of powers but isn't an immortal ethereal cosmic god.

Don't know how big of a hot take this is but the Forever Knights should have been the villains of the final UA arc. No Dagon, no Vilgax, just the Forever Knights trying to kill every alien on the planet.
Cool idea
Not liking rook is like saying I don’t like air
Maybe it's because they play too much with the 'funny foreigner' trope at times, but that's the only reason I can think of for hating Rook.
@@emanuelrojas2 yeah but when that’s a main part of his character I think that when people say they hate him because of that it doesn’t really add up
The thing with robots, while I disagree with the idea that we need MORE robots, or that the Omnitrix should be able to scan ANYTHING, I also disagree that SOME robots don't fit with the general lore of the Omnitrix.
But that feeling it hard to definitively quantify and will ultimately come down to personal preference, but there's definitely a discussion to be have more than just 'robots just don't fit.'
A creature that ain't organic!? Sounds alien alright👌
7:15 This one shocked me actually cuz I've always loved the 5YL way big more than the OG one, he just looks like a giant ancient
celestial, like a naked galactus lmao and that always got me more terrified. so I was shocked seeing the masses actually prefer the ultraman toy-like series design more.
Bros moving up on the ladder
I’m gonna be honest Atomix is extremely obvious meant to be a parody of old superheroes (your Supermans and such) like for crying out loud he has the symbol on his chest, the superhero announcer voice, the bulky body. I’d argue removing all of that kinda kills the entire vibe…like there’s nothing in 5YL that actually gives off that it’s meant to parody old superheroes which also means his voice now just..makes no sense man. You’re free to like 5YL Atomix but it really just feels like stripping almost all of the design aspects of Atomix and making something different all together
Like how the 5YL Bloxx totally misses the point.
Exactly.
@@Maswartz226 Not misses - avoids.
I like the aliens the original future had. Toepick, shell head, snakebox, Atomic and megawatts. Megawatt having duplication and electricity powers.

Hard shell gooey inside. And when you turn into a shellhead you have no mobility but when you get stabbed you gooey inside trapps your opponent. So high healing. And waiting 4hours you become a Super Saiyan butter fly with wings that shoot distructo discs.

I kinda agree with the rook take, I don't dislike him but I don't like him either, aside from the episodes about himself or own species (so about 3 or 4 out of 80) there's a lot of episodes where he feels like he's just there. His whole haha I don't understand expressions thing should've stopped by like s3 as well
Sorry In advance to all 💀
6:57 Robotboy is the best example of Robots not having to have muscles, you know dude is strong even before he Super Activates.
5yl waybig is my favorite design for him, i like fastrack
Vids like this make me feel like this is the best fandom fr 🔥🔥
I fully mean this as a compliment but shaved Ash looks like uncle Fester.
I said this elsewhere, but he looks like a younger Derrick J. Wyatt, especially with the glasses.
AYEEEEE!!!
Been waiting for this ever since you been talking about it on Twitter.
I just realized that I put this under someone's comment not the video lol
5YL Alien X is beautiful as heck
Agreed on 5yl Atomix being better than the original design. He actually looks like he would be one of Ben's most powerful forms
Probably a complete coincidence since nobody actually played Dual Heroes, but that design at 5:43 reminds me of Gezorr
For all of my complaints about 5YL, it did inspire me and started my journey to becoming "The FanFic Guy".

Bro skipped five steps and I'm all here for it!
If I had a hot take it would be watching Af 1st and watch classic 2nd followed by uaf and finally Omniverse
18:09 Now that brings up a good question, could FMA's Alphonse Eric be scanned in his armor state and become a new transformation in the Ominitrix? And would it come with alchemist powers? Would his soul be included kinda similar to Zs'Skayr, and Belicus and Serena?
Really awesome video and I agreed with Kuros idea on a new series taking place in Bellwood and fleshing it out more and such, really awesome stuff
Congratulations on the collab
yippe w collab and hot takes
If everyone's putting down their own hot takes, then here's one of mine:
I liked *some* of the reboot's ideas. More specifically, Vilgax being Azmuth's student gone rogue and Kevin having his own Omnitrix. Sorry to the Albedo fans in the audience.
24:33 OH NAW TIME TO LIGHT EM UP.
W collab lets go
I'll be honest, I liked Ghostfreak's chains! When I first saw it, I thought that it was a new feature the Omnitrix added to keep Ben as himself, almost as if it showed how dangerous the alien is! And while that may not have been the intention, I still thought it was cool and still do, so I like it!
THE GOATS🗣️🗣️🗣️
my take with alien designs is that classic's design philosophy is still the best.
all the aliens look super cool because they always mess with proportions and aren't afraid to go weird with it. they look like aliens to me.
by omniverse they look less alien and more "monster" and all the classic aliens get redesigned with more human proportions instead.
i guess an example would be how classic snareoh is alien but omniverse snareoh just looks like a cartoon mummy, dude has elbows n knees n shit
i feel like aliens like bloxx would never exist in the universe that classic created

Did anyone else feel like after Kuro signed off it was gonna transition into an edit lol
Specifically with the "soul food" song
My ben 10 hot take: reboot upgrade is the best design
Are they misunderstanding the first take? He says OV gave Ben the most *room to mature* not that he is the most mature. OV having a cocky silly Ben is exactly what allows him moments of growth & maturity which is absolutely does have in eps like Showdown & Store 23
Exactly. My critique with The first 2 seasons of AF Ben is that we didn't truly see him grow mature he just was.
What’s the point in all that room to mature if he never actually matures though?
@@willyodi5 That's just Ben throughout the entire franchise sadly.
As of currently the Rook take is still considered a hot take.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 I mean, I wasn't saying it wasn't, I'm just giving a possible explanation
Canonically the transformations are instant.
Hot take from me: I really don’t understand why people feel the need to criticise every little thing about a show (ov) when someone (me) says they love it
People say ov is overly loved nowadays, but where is that love when I’m actively searching for it? All I see is “worst show, don’t recommend it, ruined everything” and it makes me so upset, because it’s my favorite show of all time, not even just as Ben 10
I do like the artstyle cuz it brings life to the characters and it has fluid animation and backgrounds are so details, the fights are all good not so much on character designs.
@@rondo3800 I’ve never cared about action stuff myself, I just like the transformation stuff mostly. And characters, and humor, and art
I disagree there's plenty of love for Ominverse and what it did, and every show gets its fair amount of criticism, also "every little thing" seems of when I see people criticize the show it's for the big changes they make and how they handle characters which is understandable
@@legendarylancers7446 it’s probably not your all time favorite show which you love with all your heart

Goated video
The ending of War Of The Worlds retroactively ruined Alone Together for me. They had this incredibly somber moment of Reiny going into selfimposed exile, just for even entertaining the thought that other species might not be so different from his own,
just for him to pop up with no lead-up or even a hint and go: 'Yeah, I'm fine now.
Valid point all around
@@MrWhatdafuBOOM it was a cop out ending. What should've happened is he cures them but ends up having to fight them anyway

This Channel is making Big Plays god damn.
He does mechanical aspects but Atomix is oragnic a living being. I think a mixture of atmoix omni and 5yl atmoix would work well
The original series should have had Ben 10 use atomix at the end of the series like unlock it or Ben 10 alien force. Or at least the artists having an atomix design after he got name dropped

Hot Take... this a W VIDEOOOOO
8:13
As an Atomix fan, I think removing the goofy personality is a detriment to the alien as well as removing his buff physique.

Alien X beats the whole purpose of a playlist, if he can just "do anything" why using other aliens?
If his point was being this "omnipotent transformation that just works once the three voices agree" okay that gives it limits.
Then you have Omniverse and said _"you know what? Fuck it do whatever you want we don't care."_
And the only limit it had doesn't exist anymore. The show should be called Ben 10 Alien X.
Can anyone recommend some novels that are similar to the Ben 10, in the sense that it blends elements and themes of family, action/adventure, exploration, and sci-fi together?
Please recommend novels/books not comic books or graphic novels.
Kevin is my favorite character because he is the most interesting one!
I feel the same way sure it’s cool at first but a bunch of them don’t feel like an important. It’s not like with Mega pokemon where you can see they have 100 stats added to their base stat total.

But there you have Ben 10 fanboys saying "but could * blank * beat Alien X?"
It's worse than "could it beat Goku" because Goku has a set of powers but isn't an immortal ethereal cosmic god.
