All of it! But if I had to narrow it down, probably the bowser or chain chop hat, yoshi plushy and the mushroom drink holder. But I all of the food I have to try. They look delicious!!
When I watched the presentation, I could see that this was a gamechanger. Before watching, the interactive bands seemed gimmicky but now I realize that this goes far beyond the wand magic of the Wizarding World. The land also looks remarkably larger than it appeared by aerial photos and its kinetic energy and animatronics are stunning. When this comes to Epic Universe, Disney is going to have a very big problem on its hands.
It looks so amazing. I never thought as a kid playing the various Mario games that i would ever walk around in the land. Universal is taking their parks to the next level. I cant wait for it to open in Orlando. Thank you for the wonderful updates Alicia.
i LOVED this Nintendo Direct! I hope that Peach is a face character, like the disney princesses. I also hope to meet with Daisy and maybe even Pauline!

Very interesting that the video specifically mentioned Orlando, even though any future for the Epic Universe park still seems extremely vaguely defined and distant if it does happen. Maybe a sign that Super Nintendo World could be coming to Universal Studios Florida after all?
@@Bloburt306 He did mention Orlando, but the interesting question is, where in Orlando? The original plan was to replace the aging KidZone area at Universal Studios Florida. Then the completely new Epic Universe park was announced, and the location of Super Nintendo World was moved to the new park (and the schedule likely pushed out with it). But with Epic Universe on indefinite hold, it raises the question of whether that's still the plan--since they've got a plan they could probably execute faster already drawn up.
...It probably depends on how serious they are about really building Epic Universe on some time scale short enough to think about. As it was, Super Nintendo World was unquestionably going to be THE big draw to the new park, and they certainly needed something. But with Epic Universe receding into some vague futurity, they might need it to be the big draw to the existing resort instead.
@@Bloburt306 They're all a bit different, though some features appear in multiple resorts. The Florida resort has both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, so there's room for more things there than in Hollywood, Osaka and Singapore. All of them except Singapore have The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but only Orlando has Diagon Alley. The Osaka park still has some attractions that have been removed in Orlando, like Jaws and Terminator 2 3-D. (The only one I've actually visited is Orlando. I had the chance to check out the Singapore park in January but couldn't convince my daughter she wanted to go. I wanted to ride the Battlestar Galactica coaster, which only exists there.)
Any update on Universal Orlando bringing this back to KidZone yet? Epic Universe seems like it's basically cancelled now that one of the top dogs at Universal Creative who was working on Epic Universe just left the company. At this point it just makes more sense to get started at KidZone and not hold this off for a decade when it's way less of a major 'tent pole' land for a new park.
@CC I know Universal won't announce they canned the plans, but they clearly have no plans on picking it back up anytime soon at all. Most of the people involved with the park's creation have left the company. Put on hold for 5-10 years would be pretty problematic. Can't really look at SNW as a major attraction to get people into a new park when it's been opened for 5+ years at other parks in Hollywood and Japan.
@@TheBitBlock We can only hope Universal changes its mind again and start building Super Nintendo World in the Kidzone area. Because even if they do build Epic Universe 10 years from now, they could build something like a Pokémon land. That would be just as big and bring a lot of attention to their new park.
@@paulaabelenda5867 Yep I 100% agree with ya. Not to mention Universal Studios Florida really needs a big IP in the park other than Potter. An unfunny talk show host that nobody watches, horrible fast and furious ride simulator and random stunt show from an IP nobody has heard of is not exactly selling park tickets. Also nothing at KidZone is even remotely acceptable by today's theme park standards and it takes up a huge amount of space.
It's my bit of understanding that while yes, Universal did let a lot of people go, they were given substantial severance packages contingent upon them not looking for other work. I'm unsure of how true this is, but that's simply what I've heard from people in the company. When the pandemic passes and business picks up, Universal will likely call these people back to continue work again.
@CC The main guy in charge of Epic Universe left the company. Most of Universal Creative(Many of which were my friends and co-workers) were let go back in July - September. Universal may have not announced it but the project(Specifically what was originally planned) is cancelled. The poor handling COVID in the federal level has led to many cancellations of projects and, more importantly, the loss of tens of thousands of jobs in the theme park industry.
I already knew this was gonna open, and how, well with the new Mario movie coming out which the producer is illumination which is also universal, and with the movie being universal,it’s obvious that it’s gonna come but sadly not in Florida, the Florida version might come in 3 years sadly
The other difference is the costumes, usually everybody who has been at an Nintendo event, the Mario and Luigi costume were different and cool, and sadly it’s the Mario and Luigi costume from Nintendo
Do we know if the powerup bands will allow us to interact with any powerup abilities from the Mario games? (Ex: throwing a fireball) When Miyamoto scans his powerup band in the cafe at around 3:20 in this video he gets coins and a super bell. The super bell is a powerup in the Mario games that turns him into Cat Mario.
2:15 - If that’s supposed to be an optical illusion then it’s not a very good one. He doesn’t look like he’s getting smaller, just further away from the camera. His height relative to the blocks at both sides remains the same.
I don't believe this. 3 months ago, after watching the Disney documentary Imagineering, I was saying on Twitch how I think the best theme for a theme park would be a Nintendo land. I said how theme parks are simply regular parks with scattered attractions in the park but what if instead the whole park was a giant playground with obstacles and games and you have to figure out how to get from A to B. Like maybe you have to climb up a wall but there are 3 ways, easy, medium and hard. Maybe there is a draw bridge and you have to solve a puzzle or play the correct notes on Links ocarina to lower it. First, you have to get Links ocarina of course. Maybe there are bad guys around who are just little robots (with sensors) and you have to shoot them with a gun or bow which just has a light gun inside and you have to shoot it 9 times to defeat it. After each 3rd life, it's behaviour changes just like a boss fight in the games. I also came up with a Star Wars Land too which is like a giant lived in theme park with several connected lands where each land is a planet from the original movies and is populated with actors in cosplay walking around making it like a fully lived-in world like Westworld (minus the androids, but still droids). I even had an idea for a roller coaster that is a regular rollercoaster but instead of regular cars riding along, they have an actual simulator with screens instead of windows. It would have a movie playing of one of the space battles which matches the movements of the track to make you feel the G force.
@@theboyscout0156 but in the video Alicia mentions that photos and videos of the previews aren’t allowed. (Though I am hoping that people break those rules)

the little gift boxes in the lobby of Toad’s restaurant look to be modeled after the gift boxes in early Mario Party games
Wow this might be the best themed land I’ve seen out of any park ever created! Might have to plan a trip to Japan in the very near future!
Miyamoto-San was just So Delightfully GIDDY!
