  • @equesfuscus

Saw this video, discovered the model, took your advice, bought the kit. I would say it took me about 15-20 hours to finish. Some notes to others thinking about it:
    1. It's indeed huge. With main rotor, it's easily 3 feet long.
    2. It took me about 4-6 hours to sort the pieces for spray painting into olive, flat black, grey. The instructions weren't clear about painting order.
    3. Don't paint surfaces that slide together into place. E.g. main rotor connections, little mounting nub for rear rotor.
    4. Spray from multiple angles so you don't wind up with bare surfaces.
    5. Check fit before you assemble so you can adjust fit, especially the two halves of the main body. Try the two halves and sand down what's needed before you try to fit them all around your finished cockpit.
    6. Check that the sliding doors can slide past the marker lights top and bottom. You may need to file down areas so the doors can open smoothly.
    7. Don't jam the tail into the main body. Lightly work in the snapping grips so they'll bend going in. It would not be fun to snap the receiving ring inside the body.
    8. Make room. This is going to be a centerpiece. :-)

    • @ActionRobotPunch
      @ActionRobotPunch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Awesome! And great notes. It is huge. Good example of why the Joe toys aren't true 1:18.

I'd like this model for my own. Yours looks terrific. I don't own the classic 3¾" original Joes (and Storm Shadow) of these models, but for the 4" 25th-30th Anniversary and onward, I customized their entire platoon, Wade Collins, Ramon Escobado, Lonzo Wilkinson, Tommy Arashikage, Snake-Eyes, and Dickie Saperstein. Had fun with the details, including the photo in Snake-Eyes' hat, the rope sling for his M-60 and the shaded eyes under his hat; the radio and antenna, and tattoo for Ramon; the quiver, arrows, headband and shoulder towel for Tommy; like you the silencer, scope, and electrical-taped spare clip for Lonzo; the sunglasses and pinned-up brim for Dickie as well as the grenade thrower; the backward cap, Swedish K submachine gun for Wade. And, when visibly necessary, dog tags for all. Wish I could show my photos, I had the same thing in mind when I snapped them, let the backyard lawn go an extra week without mowing, and photographed them in tall grass, finding a patch that was a little drier than green. (Same photography tactic when capturing a shot of all my custom Ewoks!)

yikes! I could nt believe the price of those toy helicopters...
even yours was nt so cheap considering all the stuff you had to use.
you really were into having this badly.
I never was much into this story, I had my own, this made little sense to me.
I was way more about the release of the toys and the file cards.
it seemed far fetched to me that these characters had any link before getting in the team.
especially continuing with the hard and impotent masters afterwards.
Zartan being involved only made things worse..
however, wow, you did a great job to make that copter look great!
I had no idea that these figures were ever made, they look rather fab!
it really looks very close to the comic scene, quite convincing!
