When I lived in an apartment with my (now late) wife, I would sit in a chair in her bedroom wearing sweatpants with my feet resting on her bed, and our cat Sammy liked to crawl into my pant leg and essentially form a hammock from my sweatpant leg and fall asleep. It was adorable (I think, though all I saw was a lump), but became pretty uncomfortable after an hour or two.

@@TBKSSS They aren't marking scents, but the cat doesn't know that. It just knows there's stink in them pits and it wants to be identified as part of your herd. Or whatever a group of cats is called. And since it wears off they think they need re-applications of scent.

lol no. idk where do u heard all those cat having "parental problem" from but that definitely not the case with my kitten. when a kitten sniff your amrpit, your kitty probably just likes the smell and warmth of your underarms. Also, the cat might be missing you, scared, or marking you with their scent. kitten especially love to lick at our salty sweat. just offer your finger to a kitten and u would see them licking it while most adult cat wont likely to do so. and my cat would even bury their head and sniff in between my hip when i sit cross legged. its just cat doing cat thing.
Exactly. This is just another example of cats curling up in weird but warm places. This is why they can often be seen in places like on top of dryers, in sinks and other odd places. Just Google why cats like sinks or boxes. I feel like one of those articles said that it was because cats evelved from warmers places. This is why any temp we feel feels about 15 degrees colder to cats.

I have three cats and they all do special things that the others can't or won't do. One runs his face against my hand and boops his nose on my arm or leg or something, his name is Kaiser. Second cat purrs immediately, even when you give him a head pat, he also starts to scratch your leg for no reason, hes name is Shere Khan (because he looked like a tiger when he was smol kitten). Lastly, will sniff you and lick your hands and rub his whole body against your face while purring so lightly that you can barely tell he is, his name is Bagheera. They all go inyour shirt and sleep. The mom is a normal cat but her kittens are hyperactive and cute. Also if you have long hair they will fight it.

i think its because thats where a lot of human pheromonal glands are so in a cats (and most smell motivated animals) minds that is the most you smell there is and if you are good to a cat it associates you with comfort which would result in such behaviors.
[this is my observations from 20+ years of cat ownership and not actual research]
TLDR: the human arm pit is where our territory marking musk glands (or the closest tings primates have to such) are and your cat REALLY likes your smell.
