I have watched this scene over and over without the previous scenes and NOW I understand why shes so angry. How DARE he tease her and tell her not to keep anything from him about the other people shes meets when he is the one keeping this girl a secret and not telling this girl he has a girlfriend!
Think about this...if Mo Fei was not at the party, he will still hide it from her, if he was able to lie to her a few times, including their anniversary. Mo Fei is right...there were so many opportunities to tell her, when is it more suitable, when he's found out, like now?
And again the character of Mo Fei! I don't like her weak and trusting mind he is playing with her weakness treating her as a puppet kind of girl...I would make him suffer chasing after her after all he is the one inlove with her eh! 😆
If u didn't think to tell her bc of all the excuses u came up with then it only goes to show u that u should've just told her. AWKWARD!!!! I can truly relate to the discomfort of Mo Fei in this scene. Mingxuan missed the target here. He has given excuses when he could not see Mo Fei It wouldn't take much to just tell Mo Fei about his childhood friend since he doesn't feel anything but sisterly care for her.

Remember in the hospital in Paris he actually told Mingxuan he was going to keep pursuing Mo Fei because he wanted to see Mingxuan lose. When Xiaoyu started his childish game he didn't expect that he would actually start liking her. Mingxuan wasn't pursuing Qian Qian he only thought of her as a sister. He was made at Mingxuan because Mingxuan would not sacrifice himself and marry his sister and he didn't love her and he knew it was a business proposal. Xiaoyu was childish in many ways how he acted towards his father I thought the knew wife was the father's mistress when the mother died and that was the farthest thing from the truth. His sister was hurt because of her own selfish entitlements and not because Mingxuan deceived her. She matured and only wanted to be friends with Mingxuan and was happy he was with Mo Fei. Sorry I got carried away
A little advice (from experience) if you’re waiting for a “suitable opportunity” it’s never going to happen. Anything that needs a “suitable opportunity” - you have to make the time yourself. Never keep something from your love because you don’t want them to overthink or you want to protect them. Lame excuse , It never works out and only pisses them off.

I was happy with whoever she picked between the ml but I'm starting to side with the 2nd. U can feel how much more he loves mo fei...ml need to resolve his issues before getting into a relationship. I like how he just stands there which only intensifies the scene. It takes such an endowed family like this so steeped in their own entitlement and hubris to have created and set up the lying betrayal in the first place. And given the situation they would have never even given it a second thought had not the only one in the room with a functioning conscience...reacted to it!

No, he didn't tell her, actually keeping it a secret from her and skipping out on appointments with her when he could have simply told her the truth. Everyone has old friends and would sympathize with a hospitalized friend. He left her out for no reason and made her feel embarrassed and bad as an outsider so he should feel guilty and apologize to her. She has every right to feel upset.

I don’t think it would have been an issue for her if he just told her things as they came up, i.e my friend is in the hospital, it’s an emergency - my friend is getting worse. Each time he stood her up he should tell her why - my friend is in the hospital. Just one sentence covered all the mystery surrounding the whole thing. He could make time to tell her the whole story eventually. She still would have been shocked when he walked in but he could explain things so much easier. And he could have spoke to her when he walked in.
