This video really helped me decide between a 50 and 52. 50 really was tight more along the “race fit” guidelines that I would need to break it in and I didn’t love it since it was a bit tight in the thighs. Since I would be wearing this suit for long days and living in it on the street mostly I opted for the 52 for a little more breathing room and comfort. If I started track riding, I’d definitely go buy a 50. Loved the video. Thank you for the help!
that helped me so much. I have the Dainese in the size 58. She is great, size 56 is skin tight. and I think the 56 will be better, tighter on the chest but the protectors fit better.
Super helpful. I’m 5,11 - 190lbs I purchased a Large size, not sure about the numbers but 3 days to break in, gentleman package must be tucked left of right, I stand straight very carefully! Ouch! Riding on the bike though it’s very comfy and gives me a sense of security and protection. Ride safe!
All that matters is how it fits when you are on the bike riding man. To many times a rider will try the suit on and never sit on the bike to evaluate the fit. - Van
Just bought a size 50 on Alpinestar missile . I’m 5’10” 160lbs. It fits like a glove. Pulls me in to that race tuck. It’s tight. But mobility in the arms could be an issue. I’m going to exchange for a 52.

Hello Van, I am huge fan of your videos. Sometimes spent a day watching tham as motorcycling is my new hobby. It is great that you try to help people out not just selling thinks. What size suits do you recommend for a guy 5'8.5'' 149 pounds athletic body type (chest 41-42, waist 33,2 and hip 34,8)? I am looking for comfort fit 1 piece suit, the two models that I liked based on your reviews are RST Tratech Evo III and Alpinestars. Thanks in advance. Greatings from Bulgaria.
I have one confusion, what's the difference between mens and woman's full suit, actually I liked Dainese grobnik woman's full suit... That's my favourate blue color, is men can wear that
You want to get comfy: get a cordura jacket and ride a bmw GS or RT. Leather suits have never been about comfy. We are talking about sports riding on track with an aggressive seating position etc. Look at those MotoGP riders, you hardly see much room between suits and their body, it is all custom made for perfect snug. I recall Alpinestars once brag to deal with Ben Spies as he wants his suit to be super snug. So race fit suit is the way to go. Just my 2 cents
Great video. Question: with the advent of airbags how does one correctly choose a race type fit yet still be confident there is enough room for the airbag to deploy? I've tried on suits (size 56) that fit very well (race fit snug across chest-43") and I don't see how the airbag can deploy without knocking the wind out of me. Any suggestions? Waist is 37" BTW and 6' tall 195lbs
For the Alpinestars airbags the suit either needs to be airbag compatible (many from Astars already are now) or it has to have 4cm of additional space to allow for a deployment. For the airbag ready suits there is no need to adjust sizing. With suits that are not airbag ready or do not offer a lot of stretch panels you may need to go up one size. - Van
I would recommend a 56 Euro in most suits for you. There are some exceptions to this as some models you would be better off in a 54 Euro. Shoot us an email to orders@sportbiketrackgear.com and we can help you choose the right suit. - Van

Hey Brian, always appreciate the videos. With all the new suits out since this video, any recommendations for my son who is 6’2” and a thin 175 lbs? He races an R6 and the typical 42 is not long enough and the 44 flaps in the wind. Anyone make a really lean 44/54? We bought an In-Motion interior air vest to give us more options, but also have the TechAir zip-in. Custom suits are kinda spendy for as often as these kids like to perforate them. Thanks for the help.
The length on the Alpinestars suits should not be an issue for him. I would recommend a 52 Euro in the models Alpinestars offers currently. You should be able to use either vest with one of the Tech Air Race compatible suits in their catalog. - Van
You do not want the sleeve long enough to restrict movement at the wrist. For this reason it is best to have the sleeve end above the wrist or right on it. A gauntlet glove will be worn with the suit that should easily cover any gap left. - Van
I bought an A-stars Missile Suit size 54 Euro, the A-stars seem to run smaller than other brands, I’m 5’10 165lbs and I’d say it’s a race fit, pretty snug but not uncomfortable, my only concern is the length of the sleeves mine come up short just like in this video and my gauntlet gloves barley go over the suit is this normal?
The 54 should fit you really well. If you feel the sleeves are a bit short I would suggest trying a glove with a longer gauntlet. Racer offers some models with longer gauntlets. Here is a link to that brand on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/racer/?_bc_fsnf=1&Product=Gauntlet+Gloves

Having been riding in race suits and selling race suits for a couple of decades now I disagree with your opinion. Like anything else when you start riding in the suit you just need a little time to get used to riding in it. Sure some riders like a little more comfort and operating room but the reality is most riders prefer the suit to fit a little tighter. - Van
Val, that sounds like a one time encounter with riding gear. The gear (and bike and track) get more comfortable every time. i get it now, your skin tight shirts are RACE FIT ............and not SUPER GAY ?
Tell me you’re jealous he has muscle mass and you don’t without actually telling me…..
5'11 and weigh 175, my waist is a 33.5' and I have a 37' inch chest. Should a Euro 50 be fine in say a Dainese Racing 3 Race jacket?
I would suggest a 52 for a tight fit or a 54 for a fit offering a little more comfort. - Van
