- I am probably about three years too late trying out a Marcus Miller Sire bass! But better late than never I guess.. 😄 🎶
With just a clean sound from a Mackie Passive DI Box you'll be able to hear how this bass sounds out of the box! I believe it's got to be a bass guitar with the most value for money, it's quite unbelievable.

I own both 4 & 5 string Marcus Miller's and they not only sound great with really HOT pickups but the fret boards/necks feel great. Honestly, the only thing Fender has on these basses is higher resale value. 👍🏾

From where I'm from, I believe no music shops in my area has Sires in stock or let alone distribute/sell them. I just purchased a V5 5string online from one of the Authorized Sellers here. I'm excited to feel and play the bass. #blindbuy

Great job Andreas. That’s an amazing tone. I also own a V5 and I definitely love it. It’s such an awesome bass with high quality on a reasonable price level. Honestly I’m amazed by the tone of your V5 while I haven’t got such a nice Marcus Millerish tone out of my V5 yet. Any suggestion/hints is highly appreciated 🎸👌🤘
Thanks for you kind words! I honestly haven't done any post-production on the sound, so the only reason for a different sound (if you got the exact same bass) would be the strings and/or fingers 😳 You got MM v5 single coils jazz bass?
Thanks for your reply. Actually that’s the exact same bass as you are playing in this video except that mine is in natural finish. So yes sire V5 with single coil. You’re welcome to check my youtube channel where you can see a video I have recorded a cover from Marcus Miller. But you can hear that the tone I got is very different from yours. My favorite tone is something like what you’ve got in this video though. The Strings I used in that video are D’addario steel string 45-105.
I am not so sure that are tones are so different! I just checked out you playing 'Power' by MM cover and the only thing I am considering is that you used a lot of compression and that you might have a bit much mid. An overall too processed sound.
But I honestly couldn't tell much of a difference and your playing is great!! 😃🙌🏻
Thanks for your feedback. I think you’re right, probably that’s me with uncontroled obssession ;) but maybe too processed sound….anyway, I’m preparing another cover from MM and will upload it soon but this time on a different bass and with different tone 😅

I just bought V5
I was ordering it at like may 2022 and it arrived around october
The sire guys said i might get new price so i already accept that fact, but then when it arrive they say the price stays
And tbh it feels like "3rd gen"
Its different from the 2nd gen, then sticker also said, play with joy instead of 2nd generation
And idk how to explain it but it feels different from my friend's v5
(Im living in indonesia, a lot of sire is made here)
