Sam Rubin sings Irving Berlin’s “Blue Skies" from Al Jolson’s film “The Jazz Singer" after talking about its unsavory history and historic place in The Golden Age of Hollywood.
This is incredible! You can really see how much love & effort was put into the history and vocals. Doesn’t hurt that your voice is amazing too! Keep up the amazing work. ❤
Sam, I can barely find the words to tell you how much I love your videos. Your historical details are fascinating, and of course your performances are outstanding. This one made me cry! I can't wait for the next, and the next, and the next, and the next... (btw this is Liz Floyd 😉)
I loved this informative and entertaining dive into this classic song. Glad you included all challenging aspects. Visually beautiful, high quality production, editing and of course you are delightful on camera. Keep them coming!
Sam, this is so wonderful, stupendous, amazing...and will run out of adjectives! This is so polished and your rendition is fantastic! I also loved the history lesson and background for this American staple. Also, it shows, along with your talents, that you had supporting folks, whose talents were on display too. The next time I see you I would like your autograph, please!
Thank you. Masterful in every respect. I enjoyed your singing, the composition, your fascinating historical commentary, and the excellent production of the video. Bravissimo!
Sam, Sally Joy showed me your videos. I am very impressed how professional, informative & warm you present - and I think your voice is very good. Good work 😊Have fun making more films and other creative efforts.
Thanks for another amazing video! I look forward to these little masterpieces you're producing. I love that I always leave learning something new and feeling smarter and like I did something very useful with my time by watching your video. I love your voice and how you put these together. I'm loving the way you did harmonies with yourself. So cool & talented! PS-I'm new to video editing and have such respect for your skills. It must've been challenging to synch the harmonies. Wow!
Wow Sam, I love your 'Blue Skies' performance, such a great way to wrap up this informative video! It was probably very challenging to create such harmony in vocals, but you did it, outcome is fantastic!
I heard this song on the “Mob Hits” album and then I heard this song in an allergy commercial by the way you talk about “Blackface” but What about Eddie Murphy dressing up as an old white Jewish man yelling “Ah what do you know from funny ya basted?” In the 1988 movie “Coming to America” by the way you’re singing is a lot better than this girl I worked with I’m not gonna mention her name but your singing is so much better then her
Sam, you are to be commended on compiling and presenting all this historical information. Fascinating! Bravo!

very informative and well done Sam especially loved your rendition of Blue Skies. where have you been hiding your twins?
I keep the twins in my pocket, Richie!
One of my favourite songs. Benny Goodman does the best rendition for me.
