My personal theory on ASMR is that it's something to do with the placebo effect, that's why new techniques are so common because the creator thinks it will work and therefore so do we. This also has to do with establishing an abnormal setting like how all of marnos vids are in some strange alternate world. Idk what do y'all want think?
I think of tingles being similar to the reward from exploring a new story or idea. The exploration of the unknown. If you watch the same format or triggers regularly, the brain dampens the trigger sensation. That's why content creators have to change/rotate their videos regularly. Also, I believe that triggers are tied to your subconscious and your previous memories of reward or comfort.
I love how he'll always include invisible and anticipatory triggers! this might be not one of his unpredictable asmr but it feels just like that hahshshsjsk
In the UK we have loads of shows that are similar to Bake Off.... there's one for pottery, one for sewing, one for flower arranging, I feel like there was one for glass blowing too And even our version of MasterChef is a lot more chill than the US one

My personal theory on ASMR is that it's something to do with the placebo effect, that's why new techniques are so common because the creator thinks it will work and therefore so do we. This also has to do with establishing an abnormal setting like how all of marnos vids are in some strange alternate world. Idk what do y'all want think?

I think of tingles being similar to the reward from exploring a new story or idea. The exploration of the unknown. If you watch the same format or triggers regularly, the brain dampens the trigger sensation. That's why content creators have to change/rotate their videos regularly. Also, I believe that triggers are tied to your subconscious and your previous memories of reward or comfort.
