***** I don't believe there are books dedicated to this instrument specifically but a general Lap Dulcimer (Also called Mountain or Fretted Dulcimer,) book would get you started. ***** Normal appalachian dulcimer tunes and tablature are played on the dulcitar or so-called "standup dulcimer", the main difference is the technique since the dulcitar is played upright instead of on the lap, and you're fretting the strings from underneath the fretboard instead of from above. But all the same tunes apply.
Sue Nagyova We string them up with D'addario J64 Lap Dulcimer strings: elderly.com/accessories/items/J64.htm We aren't positive but it is quite likely they come from the shop with the same set.
Sue Nagyova These are meant to be strung with a normal applachian/mountain dulcimer set. Same as you would on a traditional appalachian dulcimer. Here's a link to the D'Addario J64 string set on Amazon: www.amazon.com/DAddario-J64-4-String-Dulcimer-Strings/dp/B0002H06X2
