- Cheltenham Chat is my own you tube channel. In the previous six seasons it has been successful. This is no guarantee for the future. All the bets and their videos are on you tube as proof of their authenticity and with my analysis. Some are good and some are terrible but overall every season the channel has made a profit. Thank you for watching.

Hi Mark. Never found your videos monotonous. Always like to hear your views, for me they count for more than most as they are genuine and you are excellent in assessing the markets in terms of value.
It is that latter point which I realise is so frustrating for you though, me too. I suspect there is a combination of factors at play, I think social media is leading to a snowball effect on horses getting cut and the bookies aren't really bookies anymore. I'm sure some of the bookmaker sponsered shows are used as a conduit to shorten up horses that they know people will have on their radar.
Like you say there's plenty of clued up ordinary punters out there like us that have probably got the same sort of horses on our radar for the hcps and the prices get butchered before most reasonable people would consider getting involved.
You've made me wonder about Now Is The Hour. I thought 135 was an ok mark with enough leeway to get in but maybe not. Whatever though the price is a joke at this stage.
All the best mate and good luck.
Far too long comment.
Comments should be punchy and to the point!

Hi Steve, the markets are just accountancy classes for students with max liability etc. there is utterly no positions taken for or against horses. It’s all extreme defence and pricing to discourage bets. I do find myself starting videos and letting rip and then having to redo as it’s unsuitable😊. I can see one horse I like which I may put up. Value wise not sure it’s a great price but feel it has a massive chance. On another note I would love to do a joint video I’ve never tried it but would love to give it a go perhaps in March. I know you have time constraints but feel we could do a decent show. Any thoughts ?
Bang on. Markets are so much harder now and bookies' traders aren't playing the game they used to where they'll happily lay off a horse they don't fancy. It's not old fashioned bookmaking anymore, it's just limiting liability across the whole book.
However, whilst we're still playing the game we just have to work with whats there. I don't know how much longer I'm going to continue playing the horses to be honest but while I'm still doing it just got to get on with it!
@Cheltenham-Chat 🤣yea dont know think I'd like to see those unsuitable ones mate. And yea why not, whats the worst that could happen lol.
Completely agree RE you are too obsessed with profit. We want to see more strong opinions and bets from yourself. That’s why we all subscribed. Your views last week on Hasthing were absolutely spot on, it led me to watch back the race and stick a fair bet on him for the Kim Muir
Hi Mark, I’ve recently started following your videos and find them most interesting, informative, and most importantly “honest”, which for me is everything. Keep it up as any true racing fan will fully appreciate your time and effort.
Thanks Andy that’s great to hear!
To stand up and put your tips out for everyone to see takes balls good on you Mark keep up the good work love the show 👊
Thanks Tony, will do!
I've been here since the beginning that's speaks for itself, our best year was 2019, I say OUR because I gave all your tips to my workmates, Chitabello, Klassical Dream, Top of the Game etc but I took the credit 😂😂😂😂, love the videos mark let's smash those bookies again 2019 style.
Thanks Tony, you’ve been on the journey for the long haul. 😊👍
Hi Mark, hope you are well.
Mark, Angel Dawn was 12s with BET365. They hold the price for 24hrs whatever up the ante put up, max bet £40. They held Lulamba at 10s as well.
I don’t have 365 but never showed higher than 8-1 on Oddschecker for 365 that day.
If you go on their site, they do a special boost for whatever Johnny and Dave put up for the day. As most people say here, keep your head up.
@@Cheltenham-Chat They were 8s- but boosted to 10s for the day. Which is why it would have only shown 8s on oddschecker.
Totally agree that making a profit has become an obsession for you and that this has really affected your confidence in putting up selections imo.You don't need to be the first to put up a horse and there's nothing wrong with putting one up that someone else has selected. It just reconfirms that it is a good choice and thevprice is still probably more decent than you think.
Really like the show you discuss whatever you like Mark enjoy whatever you discuss.
Thanks Mark.
Hello Mark, Ive been with your channel since the early days and you;ve always be worth listening to be sure of that. I do think you are right in worrying too much about makinga profit . Of course we all want that, but enjoying the event and picking what you think is a worthy bet is what its all about. Make a profit - great, lose some money, its inevitable at some point tbh, so why carry that burden on your shoulders forever . Best of Luck,
Thanks Neil. The long standing viewers like yourself really get it and I’m truly thankful to those who have kept on the journey.
Hi m8 i backed woodoh at 14s but put in 2 home footy bets with it , took it up to 26, love the chat like chatting in the pub over a pint, personally stopped going to the festival fed with being ripped off and live only a 40min train journey away.
Festival prices at the course etc are terrible and it is affecting crowds.
Yes Mark! Shackles off. It was frustrating to see you holding a gun to your own head over the P/L because I think it was stopping you from sharing good selections
Looking forward to the run in on Cheltenham Chat over the next 6 weeks 👍
Thanks Liam and well done on your recent success. Tuned in yesterday for a while. Maybe get a chance tonight as well.
Can someone agree or disagree. I'm l right in saying that the horse that won at Fairyhouse on Saturday called Kawaboomga, clocked an exceptional time, and really only got going in the final furlong.
It was a lot faster than the handicap hurdle and the bumper. The winner won snug it was very useful performance.
Useful Mark. 3 minutes 51 seconds on soft going??
Hi Mark. I never find your videos monotonous. Always informative and like others have said, I never blindly bet on the horses you put up but rather look for horses I already fancy to be endorsed by your views. I have no idea why you seem to lack confidence in your selections recently. The proof is staring us all in the face with the profits you have posted over all the years. Keep on keeping on Mark. This channel is one of the best out there for jumps racing enthusiasts
Wow, thank you Philly I’ll keep on trying to get winners and giving my view.
I was paying particular attention to the JP horse Stencil. They were just dipping their toe in the water with this one for me.
‘Dip’ all they want for me.
Those pair of trainers are the pits pal, they have not a clue between them!
#knowledgeispower
I've backed him for the Fred Winter 12/1 NRMB . Good horse
Yes handicap project I’d say with Tencil.
Look forward to your views as always.
I appreciate that!. Thanks Stephen.
I think you need to stop worrying too much about what people want to see and decide what you want your channel to be. As you say there are so many options out there that people will get what they want on one of them and you have to decide what your niche is going to be. You can't do everything, just do one or two things and do them well.
There's something in the thumbnail for every video you put up that says profit at the festival or something along those lines so to me that's what your channel is about and that's what you focus on but if making a profit is stressing you too much then change it.
Don't worry about ones that have already gone. No one is going to get on everything and if they did they'd probably lose money anyway, move on from those that aren't backable prices anymore and find the next one.
take the value as you see at the time mark wether it be 3 months before or on the day
Thanks Matt. I’ll just keep doing my best.
Keep things fun...like in life you have to do things that make you happy...you dont have to put bets up just bets your willing to or have put on...its all about opinions and we listern for yours...like others have said were all adults...we make "our " decisions..and thats on us not you...keep it fun and enjoy..lifes to short...
Thanks Richard. Agree with that.
I wouldn't worry about it, mate .
I found that 90% of my book were bigger on the day ......made plenty of profit with my winners
That is the concern stats man. I feel I may be missing prices but regularly horses are bigger on the day.
He who dares wins 👍
Which race does He Who Dares run in at Cheltenham 😂
Thanks Acca.
Just remember it's your opinion and like Matt chapman and Paddy Brennan they have an opinion. I think proper horse people would rather have someone stick their neck, than sit on the fence. Courage of your conviction has served you well in the past and don't worry if you have cost people money with bad selections. It's not like you've gone into their bank account and put the bet on for them. You win some and you lose loads betting horses. Loz
@LawrenceSanderson-e3c Well said Lawrence. Come on, Mark, get that spark back.
Thanks Lawrence. I am looking at a bet at present just not sure its value.
@Cheltenham-Chat I found value is a confusing phase in horse racing, winners are better than value in my humble opinion. Keep up the good work and ignore the keyboard warriors.
The balance you might want to head for is talk about the key races/horses and then state your view of the price they are afterwards i.e. is lulamba value at 6/4 - obviously no when we are 6 weeks away.
Lulamba looks very good but is very short at 6-4.
@@Cheltenham-Chat lulamba will piss up pal should be 1/4
i'd rather someone respect their bank balance than just throw out a bet mark, don't worry about all these mugs like martin lewis in the comments.. just remember it's not what you win, but what you don't hand back! if you go look at flat cap callums tipster league thing he got going on, the mugs in there back everyday.. and there is 1-3 shrewd sharper guys in there who put up maybe 1 bet a week or 2-4 bets a month and they are at the top of the league, that is a prime example of what i just said. To me this game is about being profitable, to the others it's about winners whether they are in profit or not..
Thanks Borat. It is all about putting up good bets and I like seeing viewer comments like yours as it shows you understand the game and you also try hard to win.
All I'm gonna say is have a little more faith and put up your selections as bets. We're all adults and let's face it if we don't fancy a horse you select we're not gonna back it. Now Is The Hour a perfect example. For me , if I already fancy a horse and you put it forward then thatmay encourage me to back it. I'm looking more for endorsement than guidance and I suspect I'm not alone in that.
@@russellstanton7583 True Russell, well said. Mark seems to lack confidence lately.
Thanks Russell. Hope all is well with you.
Totally agree with Russell. I watch ur show for the odd shrewd anti post selection and that's what your show was like Mark. I think you're too infatuated in making a profit recently. I'd prefer 20 selections from you even if you were in negative points come the end of Cheltenham because I know some of your selections would be bang on. I know you've backed horses anti post yourself but have been unsure about putting them up. . .fire away I say!!!
Angels Dawn was 12/1 as I backed it at 12s
I'm going this year. Stop rambling n put up bets. I've backed 2. Workahead and betterdaysahead. Good value
Anyone else think Brighterdaysahead gets beat at the DRF next week?? I feel like shes a tad over hyped
Correct.
It was a flash in the pan result at Xmas.
@@Andrew-z1r5h won't run. Look at the betting.
Won't run until Cheltenham
Brighterdaysahead second to Annie Power on Timeform ratings. So must go close in any champion hurdle. Especially with the 7lb allowance.
@@stephen9466 Sam was whipping her though. Usually your thirty length leads tend to be eased up coming toward the line.
Yawn , 17 minutes of my life I’m not getting back!
Scroll on by then...🤔
Jog on, then. Many of us like Mark's style and his considered views.
@offspinnersinahurry4548 ...I believe he explained his lack of horses to back so far and that's because he doesn't want to let people down. He clearly stated next week , after the DRF , he will be putting HIS fancies forward and it's up to us to act on them or not. His record speaks for itself....
Upping The Ante and Road to Cheltenham may be better alternatives for you.
U obviously know ur stuff & like ur opinions on races….,but please please no more of the “it’s all so hard” stuff every week ….either put up a bet or don’t …focus on how u see races, which is good
Thanks Andy. Will go back to the norm next week.
Just another fence sitter who is petrified if he gets something wrong!!
You are the Nicky Henderson of TH-cam Mark.

@Martin.Lewis.Racing.Channel ...there you go again , belittling people. I put up all my selections so far not long ago ( and there are some shockers ) so why don't you put up your tips and show we mere mortals your expansive knowledge. Or do you only do it for money now....
# 🐃💩
You actually seem like not a very nice person Martin.... something must of made you like this..
