yeah couldn't agree more, personally I prefer to play sc2 much more than BW, especially ladder and competitive. But when it comes to watching nothing beats brood war. Like you say the balls of deaths just look like jumble of stuff, whereas in Broodwar you can see the micro very clearly and the awkward way the units move on the map adds to the tension and overview like you say you know exactly what is there. BW is the best esport to watch imo.

You can tell at a glance what everything is but the extra detail is there if you stop and look closer. SC2 has kinda the opposite, a slightly chunkier art style which should in theory be very clear but for some reason at a glance the units sometimes just blend together into a "jumble of stuff" as you put it. at 50:40 - After they discussed the decision by Rain to not storm the SCV's because of the lack of mineral patches and subsequent worker oversaturation, I started to wonder. Is it a good idea to throw a few scv's in with your army to tank shots, and to body block? An SCV has 60 HP and is "Small" meaning it takes 1/2 dmg from explosive. This means zealots will always take 3 hits to kill them, and dragoons will always take 5-6 shots to kill them (depending on upgrades). They tank just as well as a vulture, for most intents and purposes. Seems like throwing a few SCV's into your "junk" control group (The science vessel + goliath + spare units group) could help to buffer and add some extra resilience to your army, especially when your minerals are already oversaturated. Would also help with post-battle repairs. Grab your 2 scv's that lived, shift click your red tanks.
I think it will be a negligible difference at that stage of the game. You will see Terrans do it in mid game, but when late game rolls around, all the mine drags + tank splash + storms + zealots will just make the few SCVs in your army useless.
While on paper this might sound good, in BW the amount of things you can control is one of the invisible resources that you have to manage in the game. There are only so many things you can do at once. The amount of workers you would need to pull to make any reasonable difference would cost you at least 2 control groups so it's not something you can use every fight. The Zealots will be charging into your army through Mines, which would evaporate the SCV line as well. Instead of that you could maneuver your Vultures a bit better or target fire with your Tanks a bit better and you would probably end up in a better spot. Throwing workers into the fight is something you do when you have absolutely no other option, not something you do because it's efficient. Terrans already do it in TvT to break Tank lines, against Protoss it wouldn't be that much effective I think.
dude, Vultures are only 25 minerals more expensive than SCVs, they can not only tank shots but also shoot back and lay mines and run around the map. There's no reason to use SCVs for that purpose.
He did pull his workers on the 4th base when his Vultures died. So yeah, you can pull them to protect tanks. It's just that Vultures are even more tanky than SCVs. They also get 6 shot by Dragoons but are more tanky vs Zealots.
51:56 I'm in disbelief that Tasteless actually said the full name "Psionic Storm" instead of "psi storm". I don't remember the last time I even *thought* of the full name.

I was hearing a korean man speak in the background and thought there was koreans outside of my apartment. Man I feel silly.
lol same here
Comparto el sentimiento de decepción de Tastosis, esperaba mucho más de la actuación de Rain. Light lo hizo impecable, el mejor.
No way, I made a finals? Holy cow this is something I've dreamed about for 15 years. The saga with Bisu coming back, Jaedong coming back, flash being gone, everything is unreal. This is what I wanted. This is exactly how StarCraft should be so many years after inception, inspiring old players to enjoys, and new players to see and develop the skill to potentially see this stage.
Tasteless being the caste is beyond my wildest dreams, the fact that you still love and cast this game is beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you. What a dream come true.
Insane finals!!! 4-3 with Rain eventually coming out on top. Must watch!!!
Thank you for spoilers :(
@@TCG_HERO Either you got trolled or you are trolling, either way can't see any reason to read comments B4 watching.
This spoiler was faulty. I demand a refund
This was fantastic. Many many thanks. And the trophy was insanely nice this year xD
Watching Light playing from the Beginning of ASL 13, i thought he has nothing special, and Rain will win in the Final. But it doesn't happen the way i think, Light was the GOOD DEFFENDER and perfect timing attack. and Thank you so much for everything you do Tastosis.
First game was amazing, but sad we didn't get butter in the finale, oh man, thanks for upload and awesome season.
The whole lifegraph thing was really good, funny and man love the players and staff even more now.
I'm excited, let's gooooooooooooo!
Tastosis starts at 21:05
Ty
Perfect conclusion to my day off! Love you guys! Long live Broodwar! kekekekekekek
That was...anticlimactic. But very happy for the winner. He clearly looked like the strongest player throughout the season and this is a deserving prize.
thanks! i cant wait for next season
MAN ...
Light is a monster but THIS KIND OF MONSTER ?!?!? ... 4-0 against RAIN ... WHAT, WHAT, WHAT ??!?!?! That is PHENOMENAL considering the type of games that Rain displayed this season... just INSANE.
Very one-sided but excellent finals overall.
Huge props to Tastosis! I really wish we could have live casting again and I was really disappointed by the BO1 format in the groups at the start of the tournament, but this ASL season has been so fuckin sweet, I really cannot complain at all...
So thanks to the players and the casters for bringing so much fun to us !
Brings back memories of Flash's last ASL victory where he slam-dunked Rain and Snow back to back.
anyone knows when the next season starts?
im so glad this is going so well. im more of an sc2 person but amazing to see just how strong their patreon for this is going. who knew they know starcraft fans better than anyone
Another great ASL season comes to an end. What is the translation of the oft-repeated phrase by Caster Park at 15:36 before the match starts? Sounds like "Shijaaaaa Kagashimida!" but I have no idea what it means.
The korean for that is 시작하개습니다, which means something like "Let's get started!"
Thanks for the casting Tasteless and Artosis. Shame about the games other than game 1, but it's like that sometimes. Anyway, looking forward to the next season!
I'm so pumped for this!
I have been watching a couple seasons now and it would be nice if you would add some black screen or loop the video or something so the outcome is not determined when i fastplay through the breaks. Thanks!
Grand final, omfg, thx guys
We've made it to another finals. Thanks everybody who brought this together
