“You’re not prettier with makeup, you’re just different with makeup.” This!!! I found your channel recently and I’m really impressed with how frequently you post! ❤
I remember i wasnt able to leave the house without mascara&foundation all through my teens untill i was about 22... at one point i forced myself to not use any makeup at all for a few months becouse i wanted to feel good in my skin... but i completely stoped being myself through my 20s too (i always loved strong/fun/dark makeup) so i only wore socially appropriate makeup... now at 31 i finally give zero fudges and i feel good with a crazy red smokey eye or with nothing on :D so good for you feeling better about yourself
Completely relate to this comment! I love my bare face lately! It's not been a very positive relationship in the past however 41 has been pretty awesome.
My aunt who was my favorite for the longest time unfortunately now is one of the top people at Doterra, an essential oil MLM that her sister got her into. My mom would buy the oils just to be nice but they set it up so it would charge her hundreds of dollars every month. I made sure my mom understood that it was all a scam. She no longer buys them but my aunt will still hit her up occasionally and it’s so annoying. It sucks because I love my aunt but she’s been at it for years now and she seems to think there is nothing wrong with it. Like no, you may be making money but you’re doing it by costing vulnerable people their financial stability and bankrupting them. Also, she even signed up MY email and put my mom’s card info in and I got an email saying that there was a donation made to the Doterra whatever fund. I was so pissed, my mom even more so. It’s just not okay and I hate that these exist!! Glad you covered the topic because this is important to bring awareness to.
Also, you have a very valid case for suing your Aunt for fraud, if you’re feeling highly confrontational, lol. Using someone’s card without their consent for a reason that they didn’t give it for and when they have no idea that money is disappearing from their account or how much… is the literal definition of fraud.
@@saritavenkatapathynaidu9533 haha just told my mom that. I didn’t even think of that! I can definitely be highly confrontational 😂 since it was my mom’s card, I doubt she would want to do that but recently she went off on her saying to stop trying to sell her crap. She has bronchitis and pneumonia almost every winter so she’s been sick af and can’t breathe around those nasty smelling oils, yet my aunt tried to add a bunch to her cart just a few weeks ago and said “all you have to do is press check out and these will help you with your sickness” like no. She can’t stand those heavy scents, especially right now! But maybe I can use the threat of legal actions as a way to tell her to “back off or else” next time she tries to sell the crap to us lmao. I am so beyond sick of her taking advantage of my mom, who sometimes is just way too nice and that gets her screwed over.
@@annihilxte Your aunt is a bad person. Fraud, "stealing" others' money, hiding the truth, using oils to damage your mother's health... In my eyes someone absolutely toxic. I would stop any contact with her.
I joined an MLM back when I was in college and the influencer hook was definitely not a thing yet at that time. I’m glad you pretty much hit the nail in the head when you said that joining an MLM is essentially signing up to be a salesperson. It was definitely how I realized I didn’t want to work a sales job, HEH. You live and you learn!
I’m so sick and tired of MLM people reaching out to me on Instagram. “Be our own boss, work with what you love” etc etc. They are so friendly until I tell them I’m not interested, then the table turns.
Also 'you are NOT a Ceo, or your own boss... THANK YOU for talking about them, since I left Avon and almost got deceived by a 'wellness coach' group while I was desperate and jobless I cannot stand pyramid schemes!
I got hooked on anti-MLM content when Hannah Alonzo came up in my suggested videos. The stories are astounding! The depths people will go to try to keep themselves afloat all while telling everyone they're a 'boss babe'. It's a huge waste of money and time because only the early adopters can make a living at it. Everyone else, at best, breaks even, though few do.
I refuse to buy products from any MLM company and I am always verbal about it when a coworker starts trying to sell. I always tell them I would gladly buy products from that company once they offer you benefits livable wage and a retirement plan but until that happens I don’t care if what your trying to sell me is the best product ever I just can’t support a company that’s not willing to pay their employees all that I earn from my job
My aunt was in a MLM and I didn't know until the MLM got taken out of Sweden 😂 she sold those feast candles (using synonyms because I don't want to shout them out)
I've quit the pole dance studio cos they've also became a storefront for diet mlm. It wasn't the only reason, but when they started advertising their cocktails in-between dance classes videos it was the last straw. I go to your studio to fight my body image issues and gain confidence, not to be shamed by diet culture
I've been in a MLM and the only way to make money is to convince others to join and build a team no one makes it by selling products as far as I'm concerned all MLM are scams. Thank you for doing this video hopefully you convinced someone not to join and MLM
I don't know what time you upload your videos but in my world, these types of videos would fall under the "Lunch & Learn" category. They are very educational. I love when you do these type of chatty GRWM videos. You might be the only person where i actually watch these types of videos. It's nice to hear about personal lives so you can develop a connection but I find these videos much more useful and knowledgeable. Maybe it's the introvert in me that hates small talk. 😜
Same thing happen to me when I have to spell my name in English because in Spanish, my first language, the pronunciation of every letter is completely different, it's so funny because I always got mixed up!🤪
I remember a couple of friends wanting me to join a suplement mlm. The sad part is that they were convinced that the products work. Thank God I never joined. But that drew us apart sadly!
When I check my inbox and I see "Hey girlfriend!", there's a 99% chance it's a vague acquaintance that's acting like we're super close who wants me to either buy their stuff or host a party to hawk their wares.
This title made me start CACKLING, omg 🤣 The glamorization of the influencer career has been really fascinating to watch. Everyone expects to be the exceptional superstar. So of course the pyramid schemers would be quick to nab that aspirational language. I'd be interested to see if the hunbots are also starting to claim the inverse - that "influencers are just in MLMs too" 🙄
That’s so funny, Angie. I’m actually very glad to hear you say that you mix up the vowels in English. I’m learning Swedish and I’m having the most difficulty with the vowels. I know the Swedish vowels, but I’m always mispronouncing them then going, “no, wait, it’s…” 😂😁
I did a short stint in college with Avon, basically a few months for my friends/colleagues to place orders 😆 I got a random call order during my first month, but I didn't know what to do at that point. I got support sessions, but it wasn't training: "here's a few videos to get started, figure out the rest" My studies were my priority anyway 😛
When someone has TH-cam Premium, where we don't see ads, does that affect our favorite channels' bottom line? I accidentally let mine lapse last month, and had to go for like, 2 weeks with ads...I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MANY THERE ARE!!!! So infuriating, but I'm glad it helps. Trying to not skip ads on the smaller, struggling channels who cover more edgy stuff was SO HARD!!! Even then, wondering, "if this video has been demonetized, who are these ad profits going to? Why are there still 30 ads on this? " So many questions. I also find that yes, beauty influencers do influence my makeup shopping habits, because I'm a weak, weak, late-stage capitalist drone who has zero sense of fiscal responsibility. If I'm not careful, one day they might find me in a house stacked to the ceilings with unopened palettes from 40 years ago, in pristine condition 🤣🤣. That would be really rad for a makeup collector, though, no? Those people who collect antique makeup would be like, "DIOS MÍO!!! THERE'S A COMPLETELY UNUSED, UNSWATCHED NORVINA PRO PIGMENT PALETTE VOLUME 1!!! IN THE ORIGINAL BOX!! I've never even *HEARD* of most of these *TOTALLY VIRGINAL* COLOURPOP PALETTES!!! YUSSSSSS!! Omg....she still has the plastic protector on all her Motherships; she's only barely hit pan on maybe 5 shades, and all but one of the mirrors still have the film on!! JACKPOT!!!! Oh, Miss Pithy, I'd kiss you if your cat hadn't eaten your face while you lay in your kitchen for a month!!!! Thank you for keeping the door to your makeup hoard closed, so none of your ... fluids...or cat hair, got on anything!!" Ghost Me: "You're welcome, dearie, I'm so proud of my treasure trove... ...let me show you the really rare ones.... ....no, put down that Morphie palette! Come, come.... over to where I keep my European Indie Palettes and my sickening hoard of multichromes....👻"
The problem with the MLM thing is that their underlings have to pay the person above them! The leader isn't paying their help. Which is the complete opposite of you paying your team for their services
I've been living for those emerald- and jade-green shades you used in your eye look and want to try something similar with what I have. We're close in age, but until I started seriously watching your videos, I hadn't realized HOW MUCH FUN putting on and wearing colorful makeup could be. Thanks for all the inspiration over the years. 💚💚💚
My mum warned me about MLM's from when I was a kid, she's always hated them. Some of her family got into them, never her. I nearly got sucked in when I was 18, thankfully I got talked out of it!!
I got a commercial for an MLM before the video started. 😂 It’s sad that so many people are still believing the fairy tale of making money in an MLM. There have been so many exposed and the information is out there and yet the gullible still fall for the hype.
You have inspired me to use more color. I only did neutrals with pinks and purples. I used to be afraid of blue, green and red looks but now I have learned to incorporate those colors following how you do your makeup and love it! You have achieved that with a person who has a different world view from you, so good work! 🎉😅
I did OK in an mlm but I do hate them now. I was ignorant about them when I joined. I needed something for myself, I was graduating college and my kids were getting older and I didn't have a job, I liked the products and figured okay I'll join to make a little extra cash back on myself and my family and friends that like the products. I spent so much money that I never would have had I not joined and they're all like well you're starting a business, every business has startup costs etcetera etcetera it's my business, I get what I put in. But I have no say in anything even though it's my business lol. I refused to send mass messages and beg people to buy or join and my team hated it. I never had the cult like mentality like I didn't consider the owners these amazing celebrities and I didn't have a Christian religion and I wasn't incredibly perky about everything to people faces then a shit talker behind their backs lmao, I didn't fit in. It caused problems and no longer was a good thing for me so I stopped. I joined a skincare one to buy mascara and skincare just from myself. Their products were inconsistent and then they changed the skincare and I couldn't use it so I stopped. A few years later I started doing research and hearing more about pyramid schemes and mlms and realized how terrible they actually are. They screw people over. You work and don't get paid for it essentially unless you join a brand new mlm that ends up being successful shortly thereafter.
As soon as I started my new YT channel, I started getting requests from MLM’s on Insta to join their team.I get lots of them on FB too. Such scammers. They’re not upfront that’s the worst of it.
I feel that MLM feeds on social relations and ends up destroying them. It's ridiculous how many companies that are so obviously MLM companies claim not being so because "we sell actual products".
I worked as retail makeup artist for a long time. After I left that career, I got roped into doing MLM jewelry. I loved shopping for the jewelry more than I loved selling it. 😂 It was not for me. People keep trying to rope me in to do makeup mlm stuff. Seeing mlm folks trying to be influencers- well I’ve seen some who look like they are doing well, but it’s so sneaky on some platforms. MLM is recruiting people not really influencing people to buy products. I love your content! Btw
I’m a native English speaker and I find spelling out words difficult too! I’m also mildly dyslexic, so that doesn’t help; I can just imagine how hard it would be for someone coming from another language. I’m always so impressed with anyone who can speak more than one language!
I was raised in a bilingual household and had bilingual classes in school up until highschool and the vowels having different sounds was tricky at first but after a while I figured it out. My siblings who are dyslexic struggled more and so they stuck to English only.
the vowel rant in english! yes!!! i am norwegian, doing an english degree, and it has messed me up so many times when talking and saying the completely wrong thing
One of my favorite people on the planet sold for a company that rhymes with "Spoonique" and she had me try some of their eyeshadow. I was trying to be polite (but it was really bad). I asked her if I could just give her some cash instead of paying over $60 for something I didn't want. I think one of the things I hate most about MLMs is that they train people to see friends and family as potential sales, and that they're doing YOU a favor by buying [fill in the blank]. I'm sure there's some MLMs out there that have good quality stuff for a fair price, I just haven't encountered one yet.
I’m in a mlm and it’s only to purchase the products that I love at a discount. I don’t sell it but I do buy it at cost for my friends and do NOT charge them more than what I paid for them. I really buy it at wholesale for myself, my family and friends. There is no pressure because I’m not in it to make money. I usually buy in bulk a few times a year and haven’t lost my status and I’ve been buying the products for about 4 years now. I don’t have anybody under me that I’m aware of and if I did I would be shocked 😂
Thank you for your honesty! Glad noone bashed you. Angie’s community is the beat! I bought products from one years ago and would have done the same as you if I could afford to, bc I really enjoyed the product (time release caffeine coffee & drinks) but it closed down! Wish it had just gone into stores , the old fashioned way!
When I was a brand new mom I got invited to a party that turned out to be a MLM. I didn’t know what an MLM was but I did know their sht was expensive & while I wanted the skincare, I wasn’t going to sell it. Like who the fck was I going to sell a $200+ set of skincare too? Other moms on wic I met at the state sponsored young parent classes? Like I couldn’t even afford to eat more then once a day & I at least had a decent place to live, some of the grls I knew didn’t even have that. Yet this woman running the thing was like no, you can actually sell this sht. It was ridiculous. I was bartending at a bougie Spanish restaurant & they expected me to have the time to try and sell to the ladies with the facelifts who thought sitting at my bar for 5hrs while leaving a $2 tip was acceptable. Like btch, what?! Like even if I wanted to debase myself trying to sell sht to (stingy) ppl who didn’t come for that, I’ve got a fulll bar and drinks to make for evry server in the place. But I literally couldn’t get through to the weird chk running the party. So I gave up, let my older sister by me some skincare & never thought about it again till I heard about what MLM’s were. (Skincare was super meh too, I liked one product for like 3 wks before it stopped working.)
Your attitude toward beauty and common sense is why I follow. I am not a colourful makeup person and tend toward neutral or earth tone colours but love your looks, love your insights and approach to life
My uncle and aunt were into Amway in the late 80's and 90's. I was a kid/teen. Had a neighbor do Mary Kay in the late 90's. So, pre social media MLM. I know lula roe and doTERRA people too. From what I've seen, the MLM member just ends up with a stockpile of stuff from that company. I don't know if the money made from sales and "down lines" ever really gets over the investment in product / sales kits, but I doubt it.
Ohh yeah this is going to be juicy! One of my friends literally got hit up by our high school friend with the "hi how are you wanna come over for a chat and coffee?!" and when she went our mutual tried to recruit her for an MLM. She has problems saying no and really bad ADHD so she almost didn't even realize she was signing up to be in an MLM but she told me that one time she actually read the "fine print" and said no. So I'm here for any anti-MLM content. They are very predatory and I know that our high school friend is a stay-at-home mom not doing super great so I can see why they got her. I use the same sunless tanner as you, out of your recommendation and I LOVE IT.
As always, you’re doing good work, Angie. This will save people from being exposed the personal risks - esp emotional and financial risks - of the MLM culture. A lot of their tactics come straight from the narcissists handbook (and trust me, I’m well versed in both topics *cough cough* black sheep/truth teller here, who was manipulated and stolen from by an MLM lady when I asked to rent space for my legitimate business.) When I was in Arbonne, I was love bombed, I was told to sell $2,000 dollars of product in one day (“because it’s easy”), she demanded money for time I didn’t use in her studio, she never signed the contract I proffered (and she’s the business owner with a rental space/studio and spa following, mind you), and she threatened to keep my property. She also made fun of my religion because she left it, harassed me about moving away from a bad situation and told me what I should do, and her “so supportive upline” tried to manipulate me to take advantage of my very very very sick and disabled friend on disability to get her in the MLM - and told me it was love and support. All because I said I’d drop in when I visited my friend who lives their area. Despite my insistent refusals, they harassed me for months to try to get her contact information and I absolutely broke in that process and realized they were doing the same to me: a disabled woman just fucking trying to run a yoga studio. If that’s not narcissistic, toxic, manipulative behavior, nothing is. Oh and that jaunt with Arbonne and it’s little minions put me $1,000s in the hole, btw because “ohhhh the problem is you’re young and your demographic of friends doesn’t have money for our product…” - before demanding I sell thousands in a day later and saying it was easy, having never sold a product I didn’t buy myself for my family. The product is overpriced, and part of how I know that for sure is because of my background in chemistry from nursing and then further study in skincare and cosmetic formulation, especially herbals and animal derived elements vs vegan options. At their “woo woo new things” conference I attended, I was accurately predicting ingredients and the intention behind their inclusion in the product, then teaching the financially successful team about it more than any “trainings” the conference offered. Their trainings are training you nothing but to be optimistic and excited about your team, to “never skip your team calls,” and to rely on your upline! That’s not training. Thank god I wised up quickly in less than a year and only was thousands in the whole because of stealing lady. Edit: fixed a typo where I said my friend visited their area instead of what I mean: she lives in their area.
Truth on the English language! Our vowels do not sound the way they should! I teach this to elementary students all the time! It's a different and difficult spelling.
Love any anti-MLM content. Those “hey girl” “work the business” girlies are a different breed. They’re not influencers. They’re predatory and exploitative recruiters. If they were a true influencer, they’d be able to talk about/promote products outside of their MLM. What always makes me laugh is how they think they’re “business owners”. Sorry girlies, you’re 1099 employee/independent contractor from a single business.
I don't do MLMs. I like watching influencers who are honest and about the product. It's why I love your channel. Some channels are all about making money, their community tab has EVERY release with links, you can see a product sucks but they edit the video to make it look like it's working and of course link it so they can get a commission on your purchase. It's disgusting. Like, make money, link the products you recommend, but don't lie and link everything. The smart consumers will see the road the influencer is heading down and stop watching. Then there's no views, likes, or purchases because they you are just a sales person looking for money. I love how you do it. You link what you are losing so we can find it, but most importantly, you aren't lying about the product. If you don't like it, you tell us. I appreciate that. If you think something is great, post it with links, I'll click LOL!! But there are several influencers now that I will never use their links or their codes. I don't trust them anymore. Which is sad cuz I loved them at one point. Anyways, that literally had nothing to do with what you were really taking about, but there it is anyways. All that to really say, I love your channel. I love that you are honest. And that while you recommend stuff, it's only stuff you truly like. I don't know you as a person, but I trust you as an influencer and truly believe you are more into educating us rather than selling us out for money. Thank you!
As a Dutch person I have the EXACT same thing when spelling in English!! Basically the English a sounds exactly like the Dutch e and the English e sounds exactly like the Dutch i... So yeah I get those three mixed up ALL the time 😂
One other thing to know about ANYTHING: if people want something from you, whether they want you to join their super fun team so you can quit your day job and not pay for a sitter and have more quality time with your kids or they’re a Nigerian King who just needs you to run to Western Union before inviting you for a cool free cruise: When there’s not a financial cost or they advertise that it’s simple and easy for moms at home to participate, they mean that you will pay for every dollar of what the cost *would* be, or that your work from home will cost you the ability to be paid for your labor and even your direct sales profit will be split with people just because they did it before you. There’s always hidden costs when there’s an advertised ease or benefit with no mentioned cost. Like, we all know it, but sometimes we just need to keep in mind, you know?
Oh and you’ll lose the at least the trust of all your family and friends, if it doesn’t cost you all those relationships because everyone is awkward when you walk into the party and avoids calling you, texting or talking to you.
I can't get over how much I love this look! My mail person who has kinda become a friend is in an MLM and it is really awkward. At first I didn't realize it and I tried some products, which were mediocre, but she's really hardcore about it and I am torn between wanting to support her and not wanting to support an MLM. I confess I have bought a couple of things just to "be nice" especially since she delivers tons of boxes for me from Sephora, Ulta and everyone else. It's a predicament.🤦🏽♀️🤷♀️
I've gotten hooked into these MLM "opportunities" because of friends recommended to me. I've been burned too many times and have lost faith in these companies. Also I am a rotten seller, and hate the high pressure sales ploys these companies turn their customers into. I am done with them, and their prices are always out of this world expensive.
You very likely are not a terrible salesperson, mlms just set you up to fail. As you said the prices are exorbitant, they intentionally oversaturate the market, and the products are usually somewhere between just fine and bad. It's not about the product it's about recruiting people and funneling money further up the pyramid. It's not your fault you didn't make money pretty much no one does.
That's because it's not about sales, it's about recruiting. They most likely purposely make their prices non-competitive because the MLM reps are the people they're selling to. Then when reps can't sell product, they have to sell the "opportunity" to make money, even if that's not what they originally joined to do. They're predatory business models.
I was never in a MLM but I did work in a beauty salon and I HATED pushing products. Only one salon had commission based pay on how many products I sold. Fuck that shit. When I went to other salons it was easy to sell things I believed in but I'd never try to make sales, ew
You really have some valid points here 👍 Since you've changed your mind about the ColourPop gloss, I think it would be cool if you made a video with "products I've changed my mind about". Of course only if you have more than one 😀
I was involved in an MLM many years ago before we knew about their vile practices. For whatever reason/feeling, certainly never heard or read anything about MLMs, I knew I had to get out of the trap. The true believers don’t understand the damage they do and have become true cult followers.
Angie is sooo blunt and soooo beautiful at the same time. 💖 This was a wonderful video and you broke everything down exactly how it is, no sugar coating. 💕
I absolutely love that look! I have absolutely no life that the look would be appropriate for but heck, I'd wear it to grocery shopping at the Hannaford. You are 100% correct with everything you said about why they aren't influencers, I've literally said that to people before. Thanks for sharing!
Angie, I found this topic fascinating and appreciate these on your channel 😀 I would never want to involve myself or anyone else in MLM as there is no benefit. I truly love this makeup look you created 💙💯
😂😂 I can’t believe this is a thing…mlms are not influencers. Most of them are not even legit companies with over priced products. 😂😂 PS thank you for doing your brows on camera. I still struggle with mine and it was nice to see your process 😊
Ooh i'm most definitely saving that look for the holidays (or maybe for the club! who knows) maybe just changing up the colors maybe for a blue or a purple or even the same green colours, it's so sultry i love it
I was part of 2 mlms over 25 years ago (Avon and BeautiControl) and it is definitely NOT the same as being an influencer. They are not even in the same realm with each other. I agree with you on this. I would never join another MLM even if my life depended on it. The business model sucks, you lose money, and the products are not worth the high price.
OMG I loved beauticontrol cell block C!!!! I have not found anything remotely as good as that product. My cousin sold beauticontrol and I bought off her
Great video and thank you for it so much. Also, wow that palette looks amazing. I might break my low buy for it after the holidays. AFTER!!!! -fingers crossed -
Omgggg I love the creators you linked!! I almost got roped into an mlm interest meeting back in 2019 and it sent me on a spiral into anti mlm content and they all ended up in my subscription list 😂💕
I've been saying these things for years because almost all of my in-laws are or have been involved in MLMs, but none of them see the danger of it. Thank you for talking about this and raising awareness of some of the ways that MLMs are detrimental and predatory to people. Also, I was on the fence about this palette but this look sent me over the edge! It's en route to me now. LOL Thank you, Angi!
@@shimmersandsilver from what I’ve learned, yes! They have some sort of incentivized structure for shady businesses due to state wide “loopholes” & just lax regulations in general. I’ve also seen stats that Mormons make up a good portion of active MLM members- & Utah has a large Mormon population. MLMs are running rampant in Utah 🕳️ 🏃🏽♀️
@@Shell_Herbs that’s fascinating. MLMs tend to target SAHMs, military wives, and the vulnerable, so I wonder if they find large demographics like that among the Mormons.
I can relate so much to the vowel parts :D especially have a really hard time when it comes to "e" because how in english "e" is pronounced is the same as "i" is pronounced in hungarian and so on with the rest of these :D Whenever I need to spell something I just use the spelling alphabet - literally the easiest and most straightforward way of doing it. Also than there is no mistaking it.
Thank you for doing this video, truly. My husband and I just watched a bunch of videos about the MLM schemes, it's so sad that they manipulate and brain wash people that are vulnerable. Once they realize it's a bad thing, that should be the end of it but some stay in it. You are so real and up front, thank you for showing the most beautiful eye looks and content, you are a true artist. Big hugs!
I agree that influencer isnt a bad word. People don't realize that all social media creators are influencers whether they talk about products you can buy or not. If you have a following you have influence. Even if you're not consciously using it to get them to buy things.
The only way I’m interested in MLM is when it’s anti-mlm content.
Lmao same!! 😂
Exactly!
THIS
@@Balletified and trying to only do direct sales of products that are fine, by distinctly and blatantly overpriced.

I’ve been a subscriber since last year and I loved how blunt Angie is and also her talent for makeup is mind blowing. She does such incredible looks.
Yaaas🙌🏽 I wear makeup for me, not for everyone else
Beware of the message from the friend you haven’t heard from in 15 years “hey girl I have an opportunity for you to be your own boss “

@@Balletified SO true
I was in an mlm when I was 19 and unsophisticated. It took me a week to figure it out and quit.
Came for the title and stayed for the tea. I DESPISE MLMs with a passion as hot as a thousand suns.
(I also despise autocorrect.)
I love it when you criticize MLMs, smart content and makeup
My worlds colliding! Makeup and anti-MLM ❤
Same thing happen to me when I have to spell my name in English because in Spanish, my first language, the pronunciation of every letter is completely different, it's so funny because I always got mixed up!🤪
Beauty is loving yourself even when you wash off the makeup. Love this video and that you watch Chelsea!
I don't think of you as an influencer, but I think of you as inspirational, both with your attitude towards beauty and your use of makeup
I loooove that you've changed your mind on Beauty Bay palettes, because I love BB and really enjoy seeing more BB content on your channel!
You're so right. MLM companies simply take advantage of people.
This title made me start CACKLING, omg 🤣
The glamorization of the influencer career has been really fascinating to watch.
I’m always here for a GRWM with Angie educating me on things I have no clue about. And that eye look is gorgeous ❤❤❤
I did a short stint in college with Avon, basically a few months for my friends/colleagues to place orders 😆
I got a random call order during my first month, but I didn't know what to do at that point. I got support sessions, but it wasn't training: "here's a few videos to get started, figure out the rest"
My studies were my priority anyway 😛
I just woke up and I RAN over here when I saw the title!!! Let’s go queen 🥰😍
🙈🙈🙈❤️
When someone has TH-cam Premium, where we don't see ads, does that affect our favorite channels' bottom line?
I accidentally let mine lapse last month, and had to go for like, 2 weeks with ads...I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MANY THERE ARE!!!! So infuriating, but I'm glad it helps. Trying to not skip ads on the smaller, struggling channels who cover more edgy stuff was SO HARD!!! Even then, wondering, "if this video has been demonetized, who are these ad profits going to? Why are there still 30 ads on this? "
So many questions.
Thank you for keeping the door to your makeup hoard closed, so none of your ... fluids...or cat hair, got on anything!!"
Ghost Me: "You're welcome, dearie, I'm so proud of my treasure trove... ...let me show you the really rare ones.... ....no, put down that Morphie palette! Come, come.... over to where I keep my European Indie Palettes and my sickening hoard of multichromes....👻"
You are hilarious!! LMAO
The problem with the MLM thing is that their underlings have to pay the person above them! The leader isn't paying their help. Which is the complete opposite of you paying your team for their services
alternate title "you are not an influencer, you joined a cult"
Omg 😂
I would wear that look to the grocery store! Your channel has taught me I can wear what I want when I want!
I hadn’t heard they influencer-MLM comparison before, but what you’re saying makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks for another excellent vid, Angie!
I love how Angelica makes videos to speak her mind it’s so much fun!!
Btw
That eye look is beautiful!!! I have never thought to use black across the lid like that! I love it!
Omg screamed laughing when I saw this title!! 😆. Running to grab my teeeeaaaa 😈
I watch a ton of this content too! 😂
Right! Multi-lingual folks amaze me!!
the vowel rant in english! yes!!! i am norwegian, doing an english degree, and it has messed me up so many times when talking and saying the completely wrong thing
You’re so right! The goal is to be stable and happy! I don’t care what that looks like, as long as I’m happy :D
Always here for anti-mlm videos lol. And omg, this eye look is stunning. I've been debating about buying this palette
I appreciate your thoughts about all the things, plus your admonitions to keep the discourse civil. Speak truth to power and be adults, people. 💋💄💫
Ugh when will MLMs be outlawed? they’re so predatory!
I have a theory that the real purpose of MLMs is to undermine relationships between women and the profit is just a side benefit.
Thank you!
Thank you! ❤
As a Dutch person I have the EXACT same thing when spelling in English!! Basically the English a sounds exactly like the Dutch e and the English e sounds exactly like the Dutch i... So yeah I get those three mixed up ALL the time 😂
I hope no1 does grief angie I think this video is so helpful aspecially for those ppl who might of been on the fence
One other thing to know about ANYTHING: if people want something from you, whether they want you to join their super fun team so you can quit your day job and not pay for a sitter and have more quality time with your kids or they’re a Nigerian King who just needs you to run to Western Union before inviting you for a cool free cruise:
When there’s not a financial cost or they advertise that it’s simple and easy for moms at home to participate, they mean that you will pay for every dollar of what the cost *would* be, or that your work from home will cost you the ability to be paid for your labor and even your direct sales profit will be split with people just because they did it before you.
Ive had the same situation with a friend before that was in an MLM, I never bought anything but I listened to all her talk about it all the time haha
That dark green is so 🔥 I love it.
This look is amazing! And I agree with your message that people should be careful of MLMs. People in MLMs lose so much money and time.
I was never in a MLM but I did work in a beauty salon and I HATED pushing products. Only one salon had commission based pay on how many products I sold. Fuck that shit. When I went to other salons it was easy to sell things I believed in but I'd never try to make sales, ew
You really have some valid points here 👍
Since you've changed your mind about the ColourPop gloss, I think it would be cool if you made a video with "products I've changed my mind about".
This was a wonderful video and you broke everything down exactly how it is, no sugar coating. 💕
I absolutely love that look! I have absolutely no life that the look would be appropriate for but heck, I'd wear it to grocery shopping at the Hannaford. You are 100% correct with everything you said about why they aren't influencers, I've literally said that to people before. Thanks for sharing!
I literally go to pick up my nephew from school or to the grocery store daily in an Angie look! 😂
I love what your talking about…but watching you transform your eyes with the eye look is so amazingly beautiful! Your talent is so beyond!!!xoxoxo
OMG that eye look is fire 🔥 prettiest one I have ever seen you do and all your eye looks are amazing. The teal is perfect on you! Stunning 😍
I absolutely love this look and I’ve been loving this GRWM videos in which you talk about a topic, I love hearing from you. ❤💚
This is such a pretty look!!!!!! I think it would also look very cool with purples.
Today I put a dark matte blue eyeshadow and then went wild with light blue glitters, I looked like an ice queen XD I'm totally trying this look!
You have helped me see makeup as a hobby so you have one win in your mission :)
I’m so pleased you left the brows in the video. I have thin brows but am always too nervous to build them. I learned heaps. Thank you
Ooh i'm most definitely saving that look for the holidays (or maybe for the club! who knows) maybe just changing up the colors maybe for a blue or a purple or even the same green colours, it's so sultry i love it
I was part of 2 mlms over 25 years ago (Avon and BeautiControl) and it is definitely NOT the same as being an influencer. They are not even in the same realm with each other. I agree with you on this. I would never join another MLM even if my life depended on it. The business model sucks, you lose money, and the products are not worth the high price.
OMG I loved beauticontrol cell block C!!!! I have not found anything remotely as good as that product. My cousin sold beauticontrol and I bought off her
The title 😂. Yay another day, another video!
I love your grwm's. I would listen to anything you say if you're doing makeup while doing it! But I do agree with your stance on MLM's....
There are two mlm’s that I shop from, but it’s just their hand creams.
Angie that is an amazing look!!! I love it!!!
Great video and thank you for it so much. Also, wow that palette looks amazing. I might break my low buy for it after the holidays. AFTER!!!! -fingers crossed -
This was a very interesting perspective on the MLM issue. Your makeup look is beautiful here.❤🙂
That eye look IS 🔥!
Wow, love the look and like that you showed how you do your brows.
Intresting topic too
Omgggg I love the creators you linked!!
Do you live in Utah? Hah 😉
@@Shell_Herbs Nope! Are MLMs quite prevalent there?
@@shimmersandsilver from what I’ve learned, yes! They have some sort of incentivized structure for shady businesses due to state wide “loopholes” & just lax regulations in general. I’ve also seen stats that Mormons make up a good portion of active MLM members- & Utah has a large Mormon population. MLMs are running rampant in Utah 🕳️ 🏃🏽♀️
@@Shell_Herbs that’s fascinating. MLMs tend to target SAHMs, military wives, and the vulnerable, so I wonder if they find large demographics like that among the Mormons.
@@Shell_Herbs (the emojis you chose cracked me up)
I can relate so much to the vowel parts :D especially have a really hard time when it comes to "e" because how in english "e" is pronounced is the same as "i" is pronounced in hungarian and so on with the rest of these :D Whenever I need to spell something I just use the spelling alphabet - literally the easiest and most straightforward way of doing it.
Big hugs!
I need more looks with this palette pls 🙏
This Look is everything!!! I also own this eyeshadow Palette, I should recreate this Look
I agree that influencer isnt a bad word. People don't realize that all social media creators are influencers whether they talk about products you can buy or not. If you have a following you have influence. Even if you're not consciously using it to get them to buy things.
