It was a very good test flight, there is no imbalance with the camera placed under the wing of the plane? Good piloting .
Thank you very much as always Pascal! :) And nope.. the aerodynamic balance far outweighs any kind of weight imbalance. The place Does fly a bit better without the camera but not a big change :)

I wasn’t aware of the 4k version I’m a fan of this form factor. All of my old Runcams still function and they are great on planes👍🏻

Thanks for the Demo of the Runcam 2 4K. I was surprised at how dark the image was when you were close to the side of the building as I could barely make out the ground at that point. It reminded me of the FPV Cameras we had to use before WDR got much better. I still use my old Runcam and it has been pretty reliable. Is that a camera setting that causes the shadows to be so dark? Thanks and I'll see you in the Air!
yes.. you can increase the brightness & contrast etc.. basically the default settings make for a better editable video (not really "flat" but in that direction)..
So I guess that's why they went for these settings as stock..

Will the camera get hot and over heat if you were to start recording while it is attached to a tripod where it isn't getting a steady flow of air? If so, will it shut down because of the excess heat?
Runcam split cameras get pretty hot if they are turned on and not in flight soon after.
I was thinking to get one of these to velcro on the brim of my hat to record some LOS flights as well as attaching to my planes.
Well I Always make sure the have the FPV setup be on as shortly before the flight as possible..
But the Runcam VTX throttles down it's power-level when it gets hot..
This normal FPV camera (the Foxeer I had on the plane) does not get warm at all
Your right, usually fpv cameras themselves don't get hot, it's generally the vtx part of the fpv system that gets hot from just sitting powered on.
On the runcam split cameras, which I'm sure this setup is similar, it is the DVR board that will get quite hot if powered on and not getting a steady air flow. So what i should have simply asked is does the new runcam 2 4k unit get very warm if you turn it on, start recording, set it on the desk and leave it for several minutes (10-15 minutes)....if it does get hot, does it affect the unit in a way that it freezes up, shuts down, etc. until the unit cools back down. That was the million dollar question. Thank you for your previous response, sorry I didn't ask the question right the first time.
@@larrygrinstead5949 No problem sir :) and nope.. I can have the camera run on my desk for half an hour without any problem.. I am guessing here, but this action camera has a battery-voltage that's close to it's working voltage.. If you run a split camera that's probably not always the case having it heat up?
My Runcam 2 does get a little warmer then ambient temp, but definately not Hot..

Probably because the sound is horrible (woushing wind / air) in the application the cam was designed for (definately not ment for narration for instance)

Why didnt you record or upload 4k when testing 4k version?
I uploaded uneditted recordings on my RAW channel.. but well.. all my edited video's are 1080P my computer wouldn't be able to handle 4K edits anyway

Yes.. the cable to connect it up that way is actually included..
I have not done so myself but possible it IS :)

I don't do FPV. Do I need to down load an APP or have a WIFI connection to use this camera ?, ...Just plug in the SD Card in my Home Computer and watch the recording ? it's Simple ? Is this correct ?

you do not need anything other then a memory-card to use the camera.. Eventually you might want to change camera-settings to your liking (phone needed).. but it will work after charging...

Mijn vraag kwam op nadat ik Uw, jouw erg leuke Bixler 1.1 V2 filmpje met koopverplichting!! had gezien. Als leerling piloot zoek ik reserveplanes, zodat ik na een crash een snel en goed alternarief heb. Maar zowel de Bixler 1.1 en de E Sky geven toch kriebels om ermee te gaan vliegen. Allebei of wat zou jij aanraden.?

with the E-sky you can Also learn "real" take-offs and landings.. I guess that's a benefit.. The Bixler is faster so it is potentially more exciting to fly :)

Great video! Does the camera on one wing not change the CG of the plane??? Thanks from Switzerland! I see you answered that below, surprised that it does not change the CG more. One more question: when you turn the camera on and off on the field, will it record over the previous recording or continue with a new recording?

the light level in the RC2 video is more-less identical to what the Gopro 8 (on tripod) captured.. soooo..
I'm guessing you wouldn't like Dutch weather much ;)
