According to Granados himself, the twelve original piano pieces were composed when he was 16! Whether or not that is true, they are absolutely exquisite, so graceful and elegant, qualities that Ferrer's tasteful orchestration doesn't hide. My own personal favourites of the six uploaded here are the second and fifth but in, truth, each is a gem!
Indudablemente, la fuerza expresiva que se transmite en un interprete, (además original en piano) es muy difícil de lograr en el ámbito sinfónico. NO SON MALOS LOS MÚSICOS NI ES MALA LA TRANSCRIPCIÓN. El problema es que quien interpreta, lleve en su alma los sentimientos que expresa Granados en la partitura. Sincronizar eso en una centena de músicos, es imposible. No cualquiera siente e interpreta al genial Granados.
The performance of orchestra is mechanical and lacking color and vibe. Its Frustrating since compositions and orchestrations are great. I hope a better orchestra will record this someday.
Creo que tu percepción está basada en el prejuicio y la descalificación. Si bien esta transcripción sinfónica no alcanza la majestuosidad de la obra original para piano, tiene momentos brillantes. Así es el género sinfónico, no debes ensañarte en este caso.
