The corolla seems to be the most car for the least amount of money at precisely the time in our history where inflation is kicking us all to the curb and we can't afford to spend like we used to. I've been saying for years that any company who will sell us a decent, affordable and reliable car will rule the auto industry. It looks like Toyota is that leader, plus, the Corolla is a Toyota, that means it will run forever. For those of us who can't afford restaurants and other luxuries anymore, that means everything.
We just bought a new 2024 LE in NY state and was even luckier finding a rare JT vin built in Japan. We bought it for exactly the reasons you stated.
I think sales are gonna explode!
Yes, the Corolla is perfect for people who don’t want to be car rich and have money left over to save or God forbid go on a vacation.
You have lost your collective minds on the 0 to 60 times. There wasn’t a muscle car from the 60s or 70s with monster sized V8s that could beat a sub 8 second time to 60. What the hell is the rush?
Thank you 👍👍
it's not about showing up to drag strips, it's about merging into highways. Most highways have on ramps that give you time to build speed, but when city infrastructure is tight, merging is scary with slow acceleration.
@@markvicferrer how does Semi merge? Stop the nonsense, it’s a Corolla. People buy these are practical.
The 60s and 70s were SiXTY years ago grandpa, it's time...
That's what I always say....what's the rush? hard on the engine, hard on fuel, dangerous to pedestrians and other drivers, slow down and enjoy the scenery.
Thank you Drew for reviewing the 2024 Corolla after I requested you review it just a few weeks ago! This is one of the reasons why I appreciate your channel because you take viewer requests seriously!!
owned a 15 corolla for 3 year. Great vehicle. commuted daily, and did a couple long distance road trips with family and friends. Good memories.
don't really see the reason people are hating on it. it's a fairly cheap reliable easy to maintain car. i love the simplicity of it. it has all you need and the cvt isn't an issue knowing it has a launch gear and will more than likely last a long time unlike hondas cvt's and oh my i wish i had a car that gave me 30 mpg city and 40 highway! need an upgrade from my 97 camry v6 but it never gives me problems lol.
You are right: Corolla may very well be the most reliable car in existence.
*literally* the most practical car in history.
Good review. I drove one recently and there was nothing to dislike and much to like.
this car shines in the SE version because the transmission is responsive using the paddles - quite snappy & fun for spirited city driving. seats are great too, bolstering is sporty...
Thanks so much man for doing these budget friendly cars for the blue collar worker!!
50 million corollas sold so you cant go wrong with owning a corolla it does everything well prety much with reliability excellent which is great
The 2023 Corolla was also built in Mississippi, It was only the first couple months in 2022 when the 2023 models first appeared that they where produced in Japan.
Couple more things you should point out, The headlights are different for the Hybrid , SE and higher Trims, and the LE does not get the independent rear suspension
We just bought one, I feel like you really get alot for your money, sharp, power, sporty alot of options for the price
Thank u for all the information I got one love it!❤
Now my first new Toyota Corolla to afford.
This is the car of my dreams ❤️
I like the comfort of the LE trim paired with the 2.0 post-refresh.
Good job. Thanks.
thanks for the review!! please do a toyota camry le 2024
My 2022 LE MSRP was slightly higher than what you showed for the 2024. No options. Just straight MSRP
Very informative
0W8 oil, where to find? Is this the requirement?
paddle shifters are on my SE model & i went with it because of the independant suspension
Great review. Do all LE trim levels have keyless ignition?
I believe that's only for the convenience package
Just bought a 2024 Corolla LE. My wife didn't like the chrome emblem on the steering wheel. The sun would hit it and shine in her eyes. So I got the black emblem cover to black it out. So far we are happy with it.
Will gave to special I order the 0w-8 Mobil 1 oil. Found it online, but it doesn't seem to be in the stores.
I want to know what interior you have in the car ? It’s grey and black ?
Purchased my 2nd corolla a few weeks ago. Now I have two. A 2016 and 2024.
I haven't found a car reviewer yet that covers how hard and cold the air conditioning blows. Some of us live in the desert. Oh it matters !
Thanks for the review. One note, the LE has a torsion beam rear suspension not an IRS. Cheers.
Another reason why I will keep my 2020 LE
Alvin maintain your 2020 LE and it will last you for the rest of your life!
I like this style car a little better than the new Civics and i love the black color.. I have a 2011 Civic coupe, but one of these days I am going to buy a new car. I've had good luck with my last 2 cars, both Honda Civics, but I might take a look and a test drive on a new Corolla.
1:00 Is it possible to make the billboard image for the beginning info a bit transparent? Just to help with viewing. Regardless, appriecte the review, especially the little comparisons to the civic, very informative!
I am in the US and have the 2022 SE. It does have paddle shifters. It's not just the XSE
This car is a perfect working persons car, it's no frills, lasts forever in car terms, minimum maintenance costs over it's lifetime and all for a total cost well under 30k.
30k, let that sink in.
@@Kobayashhi This car is going for 23k in my area, you aren't getting much cheaper for a brand new car, people expect to pay used car prices for 2024 models it's bizarre.
Nissan versa can be bought for ~17k. Thing is it's a Nissan
LIKE that; 'GOLD PONY'. Hey GP would like to 'tip a few' with you! Thnx for the reviews/ love the Corollas....CCC Austin, TX
SE with 18 inch wheels...beautiful machine!
Beautiful yes, but expensive and fragile too. I have a SE ordered with 16 inch wheels strangely. I’m wanting the 18’s but I just know I’ll regret it on a daily.
Can you please let us know whats the millage this LE CVT model of corolla is giving you in city and on highway? I mean how many kilometers per liter of petrol both city and highway.
Thank you 👍👍
13:01 supposedly ambient lighting is standard for 2024
Sooner keep driving my 2007 Matrix .
Hello from Hagerstown! 👋👋
Haha small world! 😁
I find this interesting as here in Australia Toyota have not released any details of the 2024 models.
There is 1 car with a more basic gage cluster, and that is the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage. It is 1 button you press, and it shows the MPG, or miles on the trip, how many miles till empty, and it has 2 trips. It also says the temperature of outside as well. But it's just text, no graphics.
By the way, I did buy a 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage, and so far I put 1,300 miles on it. I am enjoying it!
I love my Mirage, I know they went for the minimalist guage cluster with just a digital bar type fuel metre instead of an analog guage to save cost.
But I wish they have retained an analog fuel guage.
But I guess its better than an all digital one just my opinion.
Yup! I bought the 2024 Mirage ES. It's sand yellow. I am highly enjoying the car! What Mirage do you have?@@Jamie-zs8ok
No more XLE trim anymore??
im buying one tomorrow
Did You buy it? Please, tell me what's your opinion?
Were is the XLE?
It's gonna be the best selling car this year.
Any standard coroll
They were built in Mississippi last year. Hybrid is nade in Japan. Hybrid has multi link rear, regular Corolla has torsion beam .
My dealer has an Le 2024 gas Japan made.
Some were built in japan. They still are. He's wrong.
The Corolla XSE also has the multi-link rear suspension.
At least the gauge cluster looks more " NORMAL" man it was so funky in the 20-21 cars. Sooooooooooes.... pretty much in any car it has that big arse screen, and you can add nav by paying for it. eh, that works... coming from UConnect in my Scat Pack..
Is the hybrid still available?
Yes, I always Review that one separately 👍🏻
Does the radio in the 2024 have an aux port?
Yes it does
@@lloydsetty No it doesn't. I bought one and am currently driving it daily. No way to hook up an ipod classic without a shitty connection
You're welcome!
in which countries can you buy for 21900-27000$ ???
This is U.S. pricing 👍🏻
You keep saying 2002 gauge cluster. I believe you meant 2022?
Yeah that was weird!
I have an05’ has 263,000 trouble free miles ,
I love Toyota they last forever.
The corolla only lasts ~200K max. That is hardly forever and is only comparable to 1980s/1990s Camry/accord…
Modern cars should be getting ~1 million miles ( by all other tech advancements).
I get thos car in blue print in a fees day's se 18 inch tires are nice
Great review. Just to clarify, all Corolla sedans 2020-2024 have always been and are still made in the USA and Japan. Luck of the draw for which one you get at your local dealer.
I like nite shade; BUT; I HATE BRONZE wheels. Gloss black rocks.
2024 corolla are still built in japan. My Dealer has 2 Le 2024 gas models. Japan made.
ALL HATCHBACKS 2024 are made in Japan.
Also....Certain Rav4s are made in Japan
Is made in Japan corollas Really-Really more reliable/better than ones made in Mississippi; or is it just a false mindset (aka nostalgia) ?
I don’t think the gauge cluster is that bad. People just want a reliable mode of transportation. You’re talking about an LE. With a CVT. There’s nothing sporty or stiff handling about that. I mean, import tuning is going to die lol a cvt tranny for sport racing? Come on man, and you want pizzaz gauges?????? You aren’t getting the full package. If the XSE comes with a 5 or 6 speed auto, which knowing Toyota, I doubt, then maybe up the gauges. But the LE has precision pointing needles and knowing the rest of the car is bland it’s actually equal.
I consider to buy 2024 Toyota Corolla sedan.
I hope you find one. They are scarce!
You won't regret it. It's a wise choice. If you take care of it, it will last for over 20 years.
Johnny, they are scarce indeed! Here in Dallas, new 2024 Toyota Corolla LE gasoline sedans are going for $5000 over MSRP due to extremely high demand and low supply!
Go buy a Mazda 3, way better vehicle!
They are very nice! I also recommend looking at the Mitsubishi Mirage G4. That is a nice sedan that will last a long time if taken care of as well.
But, I highly, highly, highly recommend Corolla's to nearly everyone. They are more reliable than the Mirage. But they both are very good.
The Mirage G4, fully loaded starts at about $20,500. And the base model starts at around $19,000.
the minimum price for the Toyota corolla 2024 model year starts in Sweden is approx. 33000$
Why the heck
In Nor Cal, the minimum price for coroll LE is ~$26K…
That's so sad. Maybe tariffs to protect European carmakers.
@@alicankarakaya2770 EU hell hole
Have you heard of the band called "Pony Gold?"
Is the alloy wheel standard now?
Correct 👍🏻
Finally
Standard on base Le?
No it isn’t. You have to add a convenience package to the LE. Good luck finding one. I’ve tried. I just ordered an SE. It’s a shame.
My dads 1976 Corolla SR5 was 4600 new
And probably still running.
That’s $30,000 in 2024 dollars
3 car drag on throttle house. Civic, Elantra, Corolla. Corolla was way behind. 7.8? Not so sure.
I prefer the 1.8 and refuse to buy the over engineered Dynamic Farce Engine.
In my country the Corolla LE price is 31K ☠️
which country is that and is that 31 thousand in US dollars?
FWIW my 2024 Corolla LE was built in Japan. Vin # starts with a 'J''
Also my trunk does not have a button on the trunk itself to open.
Does the Corolla have the Stop/Start feature.
Yes it does but I personally like the switchblade key for many reasons
@@alvinsimba734 please, share with us why do You prefer the switchblade ley?
@@PedroAlbertoMendozaMarroquin since you asked here are some of the reasons
1. With switchblade key, I can always manually open the door if the key fob is dead and actually put the key to start the car and go on with my day
2. Less chance of thefts with the switchblade key because the thieves would have to break the window to get in the vehicle and try to start it which takes too long for them. With push to start button, if they were following you to your destination without you knowing, they will get the signal of your vehicle by you pressing the lock button and even though you have your keys with push to start, they will use receivers to copy the information with the key and all they do is unlock the door as if they have your car keys and start your car and it’s gone.
@@alvinsimba734 whoa!, i never considered those reasons, thanks a Lot for sharing ☺️
@@alvinsimba734You can manually open the door with the keyless entry as well. There’s a built in key in the fob that’s hidden.
Great car if it had a manual transmission.
I don't understand how they were able to go backwards on the gauge cluster. It really does look like it was from 20 years ago.
It's a cost cutting measure. Just like how the 2022 Corolla LE gasoline sedan had independent rear suspension and the 2023-2024 Corolla LE gas sedan has the cheaper torsion beam rear suspension.
Toyota cuts costs in every way they can. They are among the cheapest made new vehicles. Hear how loud this one sounds inside.
It looks strange to me too compared to the rest of the car.
Better than an altima!
Also, Toyota doesn’t allow you to build a vehicle so most of the “you’ll want to go for this option/model/tier” no one is going to see. The packages will Toyota add leave a lot to be desired. Take it or leave is their philosophy.
I just went onto Toyota's website and was able to build a Corolla with any available options. How did you come to that conclusion?
@@Methodical2on the website you can. Print out your build and take it to a dealer and watch them tell you “we don’t do that. That’s not the way it works”. All Asian dealerships are like that.
@@CenobiteBeldar Well that interesting. I am working with a Toyota dealership for a car for my daughter and the sale person stated that they have new Corollas coming but if we wanted to we could build the car we wanted. How did the dealer tell you it must be done?
Yeah good luck getting one built. Dealers around here are saying no. Some dealers still don’t have a new Corolla on the lot. You almost have to take what you can get.
Midnight edition???? That's a Nissan thing my friend😮
is anyone having back pain in their car? i just got my 2024 corolla 2 weeks ago and it’s killing my back!! i have been regretting it so bad, ive never had back pain before
If you bought the 2024 LE there is no lumbar support. I was complaining about my back also. :(
@@swtfunldy1810try adjusting that seat
0w8 oil !?!!? 😳🤯
So frustrated. I bought my 2024 Corolla LE 2 months ago. I regret buying mine because of the CVT transmission. On acceration it makes jerking movements. Ive brought it back to dealer and they said this is normal for these cvt transmissions. They ran a diagnostic test and showed me it was fine but I hate this feeling. I am a senior lady and dont like the feeling I might get stuck. I traded in my 2004 Corolla S that ran smoothly for this. They did let me drive a different model Corolla and it did do the same thing. If this is "Normal" it really makes me regret buying it. :(
You don’t need to press the throttle that much to get going. I understand you had a 2004 Corolla which was peppy when going from stop but then halfway is where your new 2024 Corolla shines. I have a 2020 Corolla LE with the old 1.8 litre and one thing I will tell you from your 2004 Corolla that you got rid of is that the gas mileage is 25% less efficient compared to your 2024 Corolla
@@alvinsimba734I’m going from a 2010 4 speed auto Corolla to a 2025 cvt. I’m a little nervous ti be honest. I’m sure there’s a learning curve.
@@timcoleman3421 you will love it. I got a 2020 here, the biggest difference is you didn’t need to hit the throttle from stop, just take it easy and it will catch up pretty quick. I used to have 2005 matrix and it took me about a day to get used to it but it’s so smooth on the road and more refined than regular automatic
Mine does the same. But it is normal.
Interior loudness is unfortunate.
0 to 60... why would you care in a Corrolla😊
6:31 6:32 😢
How is ot 21,900$? Its 28,000 in the website!
Are you outside the U.S. maybe? I get all my numbers from Toyota's website for the U.S. 👍🏻
@@goldpony I'm in usa OR. Ugh Sorry I'm lookong at Prius lol! Idk why it showed me your video. I was looking to see how good the sound system is in prius. Are they the same? Is any good for drum and bass, techno and rap? 😀 Also can I order it with rims? Because the original ones suck =]
Next review, Id like to see u use a phone app for decibels and give us the numbers at 55mph instead of just saying " i can hear a little wind noise", which is way to subjective. Otherwise great review. Id totally get this car if the front headlines werent so damn ugly. They look like a friggin Green Latern or Robin mask.
damn ugly? Front headlights look attractive & sleek to me!
@@braetonwilson4296 said no 1. Except maybe Batman after Robin left him. Then him, but thats it.
Shift points on a CVT... lol. Most ridiculous comment. It's as ridiculous as having a manual shift option with paddle shifters.
SE is built in Japan
Sporty? People buy a Corolla want a Corolla, not a Mazda 3 or BMW
The new toyota app doesn't work, this allready the 7th issue that toyota can't solve
Plus3500 markup
I don't like the exterior styling on this - rather own a sportier looking restyle like in this vid of a 2 door 2024 Corolla concept car:
Title of the vid is 2024 Corolla 2 door redesign.
Toyotas need to fix the fact that their body rots so quickly and that their engine burns too much oil when they are old, otherwise they are excellent, I like them!!
As for body rot… as a Canadian I will tell you that rustproofing is the answer and your car won’t rot
Hmmmmm…this or the Chevy Trax?
U herpa derpa. The Trax is a suv. Totally different classes of vehicles.
2024 Chevy Trax is cheaper than the 2024 Toyota Corolla and offers a lot more passenger & cargo space. Also more ground clearance and fancier tech/screens. That being said, the Corolla will likely have better long-term reliability.
@@braetonwilson4296 100% completely different. The more you compare the two, the more foolish you sound.
@@srobeck77 so what?
@@Johnnyiswhere so next up in irrelevency, lets compare + contrast the Ford Bronco and the Honfa Civic. Can we stop the stupid, please?
It sucks Toyota went with CVT
Your loosing your 0-60 pony dont be a dunky
Loud road noise I hear. Toyotas are practically soda cans.
Soda cans that last for 15 or 20 years. 😂
It still has a super cheap interior, and a cramped one at that.
too small for a grown man..very cheaply made...no protection underneath, you hit a pebble and you will know it,etc etc,,if the engine makes it to 300k ill call it a break even car...no comparison to the camry
too low to the ground.
I was considering a lift kit. They don’t look too expensive.
Yeah. Pay $30k+ for a basic econobox in thia ultrainflationary Obiden economy. Not me!
You can get it with out options and high end trims for 21K
Im disappointed with the styling. Boring
Looks prety good to me, maybe get the SE for more aggressive looks, LE looks just fine
THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE REGARDING THE TOYOTAS... IS THE HEADLIGHTS AND TAILLIGHTS ARE TOO SMALL.
TOYOTA "MUST" DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!... IT'S ALMOST LIKE THE LIGHTS ON A 1950'S OR 60'S CAR.
IT IS A SAFETY HAZZARD!
COMPARED TO THE LIGHTS ON HONDAS OR OTHER VEHICLES... WHICH ARE VERY VISIBLE, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT OR IN POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS... THE TOYOTA LIGHTS ARE VERY POOR VISIBILITY!
I HOPE TOYOTA MAKES SERIOUS CHANGES TO THIS PROBLEM.
PLEASE TOYOTA... MAKE LARGER MORE VISIBLE HEADLIGHTS AND TAILLIGHTS!
