One thing I have noticed, and it's very prevalent in this video, is the effect not wearing seatbelts has on the drivers. They head towards your "zone of destruction" at full speed, and as soon as they hit an immobile vehicle, you see the driver go flying through the windscreen. I'm an old dude, and I remember that in my bit of Northern Europe, prior to the Compulsory Seatbelt Law coming into effect around 83/84, the road traffic accidents were horrible - in fact, my Uncle was a passenger in a Mini in the 70s (you should look up the old Minis, they were horribly designed, proper death on wheels if anything big hit you - I know, I owned one for a while) and this car hit a lamppost. My Uncle was flung through the windscreen and almost died. You can say what you like about roads, car safety, driving, whatever, but when seatbelts became mandatory, instead of a "hey, we've put this thing in your car in case you want to use it. Feel free to tuck it out of sight if it gets in your way" decorative item, accidents deaths dropped hugely And if you want to see how bad it was, when seatbelts were a suggestion - watch this episode, and watch how many drivers/passengers get big air time.
