I just learned more in these 5 minutes than I did in 2 months of my syntax module in linguistics. You saved me from failing my exam this afternoon :) Thumbs up!
so (pls bare with me if my English is bad) Edna hit the yeti with a frying pan can be: 1. Edna used a frying pan to hit the yeti or 2. Edna Hit the yeti that has the frying pan
If I had wanted to make emphasis to the martian holding a telescope, I would have said "Ingrid saw a Martian with a telescope". Since the sentence introduced in the video had the determiner "the" in it, I immediately paid attention to the object used to look at the martian (with a telescope), which indicates that it was Ingrid who was holding said artifact. I don't think this sentence is all "that" ambiguous, at least in my opinion. What do you guys think?
rewritten to make sense For my best friend, I bought this unicycle This unicycle I bought is for my best friend these don't seem correct but the two readings are similar
I understand "I will eat the pie that you will bake tomorrow" as a play on when the two actions take time, so as you tomorrow will bake the pie I'll eat it, or you are going to bake the pie (so to have it ready in the present day) but I'll eat it tomorrow; to go back to the original one, the sentence can be formulated either as "I will eat [tomorrow] the pie that you will bake" or "I will eat the pie that you will bake [tomorrow]" ("tomorrow" can be adverb of "eat" and "bake", in a sentence formulated like in the video with no tone, pitch or puntuaction is ambiguous) I still have no idea about the other one :/
Hello goodday, please I have tried out your examples at the end of the video and l would appreciate it if you could give me your email so that I forward it to you for review.

When I draw the tree for the sentence should I draw 2 or one tree?
