    Ryan, would it be appropriate to put a dab of anti-sieze on that mounting bolt?
    Are bolts on new engines all metric now, or is there a mix of SAE?

    • @truckingandfixing
      @truckingandfixing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      there was no resdue when the bolt came off, so i typically don't put anti-sieze on them when they don't have it coming from the manufacturer. most of the bolts are metric.

    Quick tip, you don’t need to use anything for removal of belt. Just grab the belt closest to you and pull up then slip it off the alt pulley and wallah, belt is released and you can now pull it off without any issues, I’ve done this since the isx came in with the egr. Disclaimer: this may not work for each one and does not work for the ac belt, but I’ve done this for almost 20 years now and never needed a tool to remove the main drive belt

    • @ralphborroel5684
      @ralphborroel5684 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can see the belt going offset to that tensioner pulley just a hair, and it will make a slight noise. That's the v tensioner beginning to fail, due to Time. Time breaks down all components that turn.

  • @Arineymix

    I'm getting a high pitched squeal/whistle only under throttle and typically above 1300rpms could the tensioner be cause of this I've already replaced the belts and still have this issue

  • @anthonyquintana8439

    So what was the reason for the change ? Was there noise like a high pitch sound coming from the tensioner? I have a high pitch sound coming from my engine area when under load up hills ect. Im wondering if that made any unusual sounds prior to the exchange of parts .
