Completely blown away by the quality of this set. Absolutely amazing. And indeed, just perfect for CodeBlade.

Really wish companies would find funding and present their products. I'm so burnt out on crowd funding anymore. I know there are plenty who aren't, but I also know I'm not alone. These look great, but I won't be able to get them, most likely, because I am done kick starting projects for companies.

I can speak only for myself, but my two cents. To put a product out there there's a lot of research & design. Then you need to find a provider that doesn't stab you in the back and then figure out if/how the manufacturer's machinery will produce what was designed in the studio. This part of the process can take up to a year. Then you have to reach out to people and create a community to gather interest, which is very difficult due to all kind of already stablished companies (GW for example) spending a lot of money on marketing.
You can do all this for "free", basically bootstrapping & giving away your hours with family and friends, but you can do it a limited number of times. It's better to simply invest some money and get help. Once you have a product and a community, you need to produce the actual item, which can cost about 10-50K, let's say.
So, when it comes to bringing food to the table, if creators can choose between having a 9 to 5 job or investing their time in design and 10-50K in production, 99% of them will not take that risk.
Kickstarter removes the 10-50K burden from creators, making things easier. It's definitely not effortless, but it's more feasible. In my case, when looking for terrain, I also wanted someone else to handle the design, fund the production, pay for warehousing and website stuff, and then deliver it two days after purchase, but I couldn't find anyone willing to do that. Now I know why! XDDD.

@@acidhouseterrainI appreciate your candor. You put out cogent and clear points. My frustration is not with the quality. The buildings look amazing. I would love to have a set of these buildings. The tear down and setup looks quick and the storage looks efficient. I have no issue with you or the products shown. I genuinely wish you all the success of your kickstarter. I hope that it is an actual kick start to your production and that I'll be able to purchase these after the kick starter campaign is over.
I'm doubtful, for various reasons due to my experiences with the consumer end of kick starting, that I'll have that opportunity though.
Best of luck in your crowd funding journey.

@@jakec5550 Thx! On the other hand, I also can understand the crowdfunding burn from the backers perpective, and....I hate with all my heart waiting a year to get the stuff XDDD

Really appreciate Gerry picking up the Rage Against the Machine references. If one day there's an Acid House Terrain VIP program, his name is automatically going to the members list XD.

was the silicon soul a reference to Almost Human the program they fit Dorian with?

Can the upcomming 10mm be scaled down to 6mm for Battletech?

They could but because TTcombat, GW and Mantic are pushing 8 and 10mm games

if you opt for the 6x 4, is it easy enough to build from it only say 4x4 on a smaller table? or is that impractical and you have to build the full size whichever set you choose?

    • @acidhouseterrain
      @acidhouseterrain 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Hey James, the "mats" come in modular terrain tiles that get together incrementally, so when you buy the 6'x'4, you're also "buying" the 4'x4'.

@@acidhouseterrain I think they could go on 3x3 since many games use this table size.

My suggestion is to use ALL of the signage. It is what makes the set "Cyberpunk" if you ditch the signage the set can be use as any near future, or heck, even modern settings.

I play cyberpunk and making signage makes the terrain better but requires a lot of time to make it.
