After many years I see this Storyline again and I love the performance of Eric Sheffer Stevens as Dr. Reid Oliver, this was for me one of the best characters in that soap opera along with Damien Grimaldi
I just cannot believe you guys not to pay more attention to the first few minutes of LuRe in this episodes; What I observe is: 1) Luke cannot help staring at Reid during the meeting with Bob.; 2) Luke acted like a little puppy of Reid just try to give him relieve; 3) Luke managed to make Reid smile; 4) The way Reid looked at Luke after Luke made him smile.
Of course Reid is going to instinctively choose his job. It's all he's ever known, and it's his security blanket His identity! And of course Luke is going to assume that, once again, someone is choosing something else over him. It's his biggest insecurity issue! Both characters are acting just the way I'd expect them to. And they are so drawn to each other...just the way they are! That's why they are so perfect together!
Btw; does anyone else melt when Reid says at the end, "between my calling and everything else?" Aka, Luke is Everything Else away from my job. -dies a little inside
It's funny how earlier on Reid referred to Luke and Noah as "the gay Bob and Kim." In actuality, Reid and Luke are much more like Bob and Kim. They spar, like Luke and Reid - they don't tiptoe around each other. You can see it on Bob's face when Kim asks to take part in the tour and then swoops in to keep Mona company when the alarm was going off. Bob is suspicious of what she'll do - in a playful way. They're real, not all sugary sweetness like Luke and Noah.
im still mad at luke.... he's been toying with Reid all this while, not fully willingly committed to Reid (he still switching sides between Reid & Noah)... and now he's demanding to be Reid's utmost priority ??? even over Reid's own career??? Reid's career is what he has all his life !!( kindly flash back to when Reid was suspended and how devastated he was) What's up with that, Luke? Get a grip.
@ForeverBossy26 It wasn't off screen. It was just very subtle. When Luke was helping Reid with the bloody nose. Luke said "I thought you didn't want anything to do with me?" And Reid just answers with: "When you said that you and Noah were through..." and Luke replies with "We are." And then they go in for the kiss. It's mutually understood that they still want to be together but Reid just wants to make sure it's really over between Noah and Luke so he doesn't get his heart stomped on.
My only comment to other comments is this; technically Reid would be giving up a lot, yes. He'd be giving up his current employment and the wing HE designed - however, that wouldn't mean he's losing his career. Any other hospital would be more than happy to take him. STILL. That doesn't make this any less shitty.
I feel for both Luke and Reid. First off Reids job is not only his priority, but his life- everything hes worked toward. Luke couldnt have expected Reid to chose him, especially after how (understandably) wishy washy he been these past weeks. Luke on the other hand has always had to make sacrifices for his relationship with Noah, and he isnt going to be that fool anymore. Why Luke cant wait a few months..well hello look at Reid, he wants to pounce already lol. Im excited to see how this plays
n, may i add? i totally agree with reid's decision. just let luke go. he doesn't deserve reid. reid is a neurosurgeon, not JUST luke's bf. it would be too pathetic for reid. pity luke din see that & acted like a drama queen. it's time for luke to do something to show if he really loved reid. reid has done so much for luke. but, luke crawled back to reid only when he was dumped by noah, i.e. when it's 'convenient'. n stop saying that reid has no heart n not real. so insulting & ridiculous.
Luke you need to understand all that Reid has done to become a doctor. Luke wake up and try to understand that not all pepole are born into rich familes. Noah is on his way to a film career, Reid is a great doctor. What are you doing? Take some time and work on your first love writing. I love you Luke but grow up. I can only wish that Luke sees why Reid loves his job. Reid I see why you love Luke he is very cute and puts his feeling out there.

Reid is too much drama for me. I've been involved with someone like that who's moody, can be cold one minute and hot the next. It is too exhausting and not worth the headaches. I think Luke needs to find someone with less stress. I could consider the idea of him and Noah, providing Noah goes back to treating him good again.
Dramatic Reid? Are you kidding me? Who is the drama queen in various chapters? It is Luke, for example in this chapter Reid is trying to explain to Luke why he cannot quit his job and they should pause in front of Invicta's eyes but Luke in an immature aptitude that makes? he does a tremendous drama to Reid, just like when Reid tried to explain to him about possible damage to Noah's brain after his operation. Also many said that Reid was cold but Noah was colder when he took Luke away and not even thanked him for everything he did for him, so for me the end of this storyline with Reid's death was a bad ending for the writers of that soap opera they removed one of the best characters there which was Reid just to please the teenage Nuke fans
