There is clearly a prepared plan in place to sabotage her season..showing "WNBA History" promos to sell the watered down game that was played by the league prior to this year is disgusting. If this league was great.. you wouldn't have to tell us. The WNBA would have folded years ago if it Didn't have "NBA" in the name..(and NBA money). We aren't new fans to basketball... the league is new to being watchable.

I don’t know why the statisticians are giving HER turnovers when she’s throwing great passes and her teammates are fumbling them.
It sucks because the casuals who want to see CC lose will see that stat and blame her for all of it even if they didn’t watch the game.

I agree. The best lineup is Clark, Mitchell, Fegbenle, Smith. Samuelson or Wallace for the 5th spot. This group often goes on a run. I noticed this even in the blowout to NY the 1st game when they cut it to 6 or 7.

She didn’t tackle her, she wrapped her up and even the commentator said the refs angle sucked. Also the couple plays before a horrible call was made against the fever that wasn’t a foul. The refs have been god awful on both sides.

Boston simply is the choke master. Fagbenle needs to start, not Boston. She needs to be basketball ready or retire to the media to do analysis.

That offensive foul call on Gagbenle that could have gone either way may have ultimately been the difference. She wound up fouling out and Boston was back on the floor looking terrible

Sides has to go, inbound play couldnt draw up something to free up a player and she had two opportunities too. Clark is being set up by Sides and Boston should have gone oversees to play like most players do. Too many months to just sit idle, any serious WNBA player goes overseas and its not just for the money but fitness aswell
Sides will be fired when they're 1-12 and Clark will explode with a competent coach.

It was a great game, fun to watch. I wish Caitlin and the Fever would have won, but they played like winners. So, lots to feel good about except the coaching - strange she took Caitlin and Smith out near the end - for a breather? They were on a roll.

Screw trading Boston. If the GM won't fire Sides who clearly isn't a fan of CC, and LOVES Boston... CC should just demand a trade and sit out until it happens. She deserves way better. She doesn't "Deserve" to go to a better team just because she is special...it's good that the best young talent goes to the worst teams to keep it balanced. But she DESERVES to not play for a coach that hates her. Sides clearly can't stand CC getting the spotlight and time and time again tries to force Boston into clutch moments (Sitting CC tied with 5 min left while Seattle goes on 7 min run because Boston flubs 2 passes resulting in TOs, and misses 2 layups from 3 feet away). Even the last inbound. You huck that thing to ANYBODY near half court so hopefully they can get past and throw up a decent shot. But no sides gives it to Boston 3 feet from the line and she prceeds to throw a fastball at the first row of fans
People in the wnba get way too friendly. Sides likely doesn't want to cut boston due to a friendship from last season. Sides is still acting like an assistant, not a head coach.
That would be a terrible p r move for Clark to start sitting out games and demanding firings and trades. Nike and Wilson don’t want that hit.

The offense is very herky jerky, no rhythm or flow to it at all. The previous game I thought their defense was getting better but it was non existent for 3/4 of this game. And can't simply blame games on the last play, the rest of the game matters too.
If they had brink they would have a winning record along with cc. That big can hustle.
They do need a rim protector, rebounder…2 shooters and a two way forward if any are elite, this team is competitive …Boston fell offf

Clark was actually good on defense and only got beat on a handful of screens. biggest + on the team. Nobody talking about how Skylar Diggins could barely take a dribble with Clark on her.

Boston wasn't as good her senior year of college as she was her junior year, either. She seems to have a motivation problem after having a good season. Her problem isn't that she doesn't fit; she wouldn't fit in any system with the way she's playing right now.

i like kelsey mitchell...she has so much speed and at times just cuts thru the defense for layups...but still, there were a bunch of missed shots so close to the basket...that was the big difference that wouldve resulted in their first win.

Caitlyn’s first year goal should be to get the scoring title. That will give her the political power to lead a team. This whole idea of coming into an entertainment business in a broken league and trying to just fit in and play team basketball will destroy her career.

Yeah the layup Aaliyah Boston missed in the previous game was so pathetically awful I was thinking that this season is going to be really tough for CC and the team is going to go in the wrong direction. Of. There are things CC can improve on…she needs to cut down on the turnovers and improve her hall handling. And she needs to improve defensively and adjust to the strength of the pro players vs college. If she develops a floater game it will go a long long way. But even if she does those things the team isn’t good. The coaching doesn’t help either.

Caitlin had 5 points in the first half. That has to change if they are going to win. She has to come out gunning. If shes the best in the league then so is Mitchell. So far I dont see anything special. But ill give her the benefit of the doubt because its only been 5 games.
She hasn't been able to play well with Boston so far this year! Takes away all of the easy baskets she can get and unless she gets hot and starts hitting from 30 she won't score! If sides gets the lineups right I can see her averaging around 21/5/5 a game this year

All that aside, the Fever as a Team is inept at defensive rebounds, turnovers, spotty shooting,shot clock awareness, loose ball awareness , and in bound play schemes. They have been getting better at competitiveness, to keep games close but must learn how to close out.

Caitlyn is on a bad team. She can be a mediocre “team player” on a bad team, or she can be a 30 point per night phenom on a bad team. Being a 30 point per night phenom gives her power. Being a team player makes her an easy target. Guys this is politics.

I agree CC is not a straight-up point guard but is the type of player, like Bird was, who can dish it out in transition. Maybe the Fever should consider her at small forward for now? She could do everything she is now while stretching the defense even more (they would have to follow her.) thus allowing Berger to play the PG. Someone could argue the defensive merits of such a move but what they'd lose at small forward they'd gain at PG, defense, after all, is not CC's strong suit by any means.

Boston may not be playing great or so maybe cause she is fighting for everything. I did not know the amount of contact allowed in the WNBA, seeming more than the NBA. Playing the Sun before this game the contact was more than any other sport I can think of. Caitlin was bounced about. What has to happen the Fever to win games would be keep the scoring along with twice better defense. All of the team are letting the other team's players waltz to the basket or hit shots in the paint close to the basket. But, BUT the team is doing whold much better where they have lost in the past two games by six points. Really, the Fever should have won both games should their defense had been better. Really, the team has to be tired surely Clark. Fever has played two of the best defenses while away two of the four games plus two preseason games. Clark just started after playing for March Madness championship straight to WNBA with no break to rest.
Samuelson is a non contributor. Wallace and Wheeler don't produce enough and got killed on defense.
