Even after you think you thinned to get the consistency of milk, it's still best to spray on a test piece or spoon first just to see if you got it right before painting your actual gunpla part. Some paints behave differently and may need to be thinned more, like metallic paints.
Thank you for sharing another video! You are putting so much effort in only speaking english and i think that people from all over the world started watching you a while back will appreciate it a lot as we do! Cheers from Spain! All our energies with your channel and project!!! 💗💗💗
I know pretty much all of the best modelers I subscribe to have said that the milky consistency trick is the best way to thin and now having your input and same guidance definitely makes me feel better about this method of measurement. Plus I liked the fact that you showed us how the paint will apply when over and under thinned . You are awesome and I hope to see more of these tips and of course your creations. Thank you.
Great video, here in México is really hard to find laquer paints, but recently I discovered that some stores will have Tamiya LP series so I will get some to do some testing
Great tutorial on paint thinning. Clear explanations with examples and demonstrations really helps a lot. It would be good if you could share some tips and tricks on scribing and custom panel line designing, its relatively challenging to get nice, clean and straight panel lines and also how to go about to design custom panel lines. Guess that will be beneficial to beginners who are moving into customization. Thanks in advance.
Really appreciate you show example of thick paint because the first time I thinned my paints, it ended up exactly like you showed. Dried too fast and the surface was too rough and didn't leave glossy finish like it supposed to. This is really helpful!
Thank you very much EA! I've done some airbrushing previously, but never got it right. Now having your tutorial, with the examples of underthinned or overthinned as a reference, I definitely get a clear image on how my thinned paints should look like.
This is definitely the best way to go about thinning paints. Trying to have exact ratio sounds nice but it can often be a hindrance; especially if you use different brands of paints.
@xxnike629xx Unless you wanna double the size of your *BOX* fort in celebration of the decade anniversary this year of you quitting from building your kits huehuehue
Hello, first of all, thank you so much for making this guide video! When you can, could you please make a video how to make the perfect consistency for painting with a brush using acrylic and enamel paints as well?
I use acrylics and lacquer paints for my kits. Can I mix the type of thinner for both type of paints? Or do i have to use acrylic thinner for acrylic paints? And lacquer thinner for lacquer paints? I want to buy just one type of thinner. thanks Phat
waww its help me alot!! thankyouu so much for ur tips. so cooll!! i wanna ask, how much layer we should use to make paint properly fit into part?? and not easy to scratch?
Just out of curiosity and silly question but what percentage is the milk is it 1% 2 % so on so forth. Just so I'm understanding what consistency when I'm mixing the lacquer
I usually just do one to one ratio. I will empty out a whole bottle of Mr hobby paint into an empty bottle and fully the mrhobby bottle with thinner and pour it in and it comes out fantastic everytime. Works for every single lacquer and enamel paint I have ever used
@@asimhussain8716 thats true. When it comes to acrylic paints it takes a lot of thinner to get proper results plus a medium so it doesn't dry out so fast.
Can you share tips to use sandpaper n the kind of sandpaper to use. I hope it because i also want to join to custom my gunpla...but in this video i love it n what you explained it very clear to understand...Again i hope you can teach us how to use the better sandpaper to sanding our gunpla...love from your local too
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I have this problem when I paint my kit. Now I know that I thin my paint wrong. Once again, thank you so much! Can't wait for your next project.
This is just my personal opinion but I think just saying "the consistency of milk' is not useful. Milk is different consistencies all over the world. It's best to work in known ratios. TH-cam is full of videos sharing known ratios that are proven to work. If you need to mix two brands with different viscosity just mix each up separately using the known ratios and then mix them together. Simple.

What kind of thinner, what brand do you use for lacquer paints and primers?
Can I use industrial lacquer paint in small amounts because I don’t really have access to Mr color leveling thinner
Where do you get the clear bottles?

Can i use tamiya thinner for gaia notes?
Hello, this is maybe a stupid question, but do you still aim for the same consistency if you're painting by hand instead of airbrushing?
Different consistency I believe, there is a tutorial by another youtuber explaining the consistency needed for handpainting.
Lol it nver occur to me u can put them side by side😅 im always guessing consistency of the milk.
