Great video. I have played golf for 10 years now and never really understood how nets would help if you didn’t have a launch tracker. But I completely agree that you have to get the ball initially going in the target line with a good swing.
Love it! Just set up the net my wife got me and did some swing practice today. Love the idea of focus, targets, and having an objective for each shot. Thanks!
Nets are great! I set my radar up sometimes and see what club head speed I have. I move the ball around, low high, front and back to improve contact skills, play nippy chips and pretend fairway bunker shots, thin, no divot hits. Pretty much just use your imagination and create whatever scenario in your mind and play the shot, just like at the range except you're not out embarrassing yourself and spending money on range balls.
I do this already. To add more concentrated practice to this, i would recommend a basic launch monitor. The voice caddy is a good one because it has a feature that outputs random distances for your short game.
Good tip thanks. One question - the fact that you have the ball up on a separate piece of astro, doesn't that mess with your musle memory/head when you get on the golf course and ball and feet are on the same level?
Wonderful video Alex. I have had a nice Rukket net for a year or so and pretty much have worked on technique. This makes a lot of sense practice wise!!
Hi Alex. Great advice! I’m looking to get a net but struggling to find one that is universally thought of as durable and reliable. What do you have and would you recommend it? Many thanks!
It’s a bit of a struggle these days.. depends on budget. The net return is good. Rukket golf is good. Cheaper ones are ok but yes won’t last as long. My advice is just get what you can now as short supplies and you can always upgrade if need to. Another cheat is to use “almost golf balls” they feel pretty close but are a small % of weight.
Thanks Alex. I’ve just purchased the flightscope mevo (just waiting on it arriving) and not sure that the almost balls will cut it with that launch monitor. I’d rather spend a bit more and see it as a long term investment (at least that’s how I’ll justify it to my wife!)
That is pretty much just carpet. He will wear a hole in that rather quickly. Although I'm curious if using the hitting mat often causes any problems with blading the ball on a regular course.
@@joshuadilmore9062 if you think about the different lies you go thru in a round... Slanted, uphill, downhill, thick rough, no rough as well as considering your bodyweight naturally puts your feet lower than the ball.. or when your tee up. You always are adjusting for the ball. So it's not a big deal imo
@@BOOGiNS So please explain to me when you're at the range when exactly are you consistently hitting a ball at least an inch to two inches above your feet on purpose? It makes absolutely zero sense. The fact that you can setup to think you're hitting a draw or fade is funny though. You'll never know until you get on the range if all the work you've put it has actually worked. Plus he's choking down on all his shots because of the ball above his feet.

Really great advice and simple.. thanks I’m getting my net for Father’s Day and when I get it I’ll focus on my target.. thanks again
It's crucial for each shot

Well yes but just a demo in lockdown. And most do not practice enough of sloping lies or add placements… that’s why they struggle on the course
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf very good point. Thanks for taking the time to get back to me

Great stuff as always, Alex.
Thanks and hope it helps!
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf , your tips always do.
It's hard for me to judge flight with a net. But I do use it for impact.
It's useful for that of course! But adding some visuals is great

Alex , why the artificial large mat under the small hitting mat.
