@GameEdged you can open your inventory and it'll show every item immediately around you (range looks to be about two or three meters) that can be grabbed without searching, and you can pick everything up from there more quickly than manually aiming at them individually and pressing E - this comes in handy for quickly looting store shelves.
You can take out the beams in the center of the house as you don't need them in the house. The only time you need them in the house is if you are going to build walls.
I absolutely love this new map, in my gameplay the biggest issue was finding the repair kits for cars lol. Car is a must with how huge this map is lol Also if you put down your beams all around the outside you won’t need them inside the build. You just have to attach overhead beams from outside to outside

(Also the aim is a little off to the left with the weapons) The Z in blue that was crouched was screaming to notify the others; for some reason we can't hear them; Also Silencers on rifles are not that good.
EDGE....Really NEED to STOP Running Endlessly....you Won't have any Stamina for a Fight. Glad you picked this one back up, it still needs some work on the loot ratio tho..... Do you remember that Russian Village game...that just got a huge update as well.... Anyway...houses are your best bet for simple parts....barns for tools
10:07 it’s pretty simple really, floor piece is a square with 4 corners.. each corner gets a post and then like in real homes some of them can be removed because they are not load bearing.

You don’t need all the columns in the center, just around the edge of your building(between each wall piece), then use the beams to span the roof from one column to the column on the other side and they will be enough to hold your roof. Also, when placing items, there’s a key, you can push to un click it to the foundation and move it freely. Not sure which key it is. Sell the adrenaline to get car repair kits from the Trader Just use a twig in the fire, a log is overkill
GameEdged - remember that posts are the vertical uprights, beams are the horizontal supports. Always cap your posts with beams in a full grid - that's to support upper floors and rooves. Don't use logs on the fire for cooking - most times you only need 1 or 2 sticks. tap R to rotate things in storages.
GE you dont need that many inner beams many be 1 or 2 for the beams that go on top of the walls an across but i would add half beams with half walls so if you make the storage rack you can put 3 storage crates on it

OK so on the outside small pillar then a large so you can the get three boxes on shelves. in the middle not so many. you will see what needs to be done as you go. stick to 20 degree roof's at the start. just a suggest.
The building instructions are hard to miss when your not used to them, but the ones at the bottom right are life savers :) (Just be warned they are hard coded, so if you prefer crouch to be CTRL, you will wind up ducking a couple of times when trying to shift the Item front to back/Left to right (using the scroll wheel) just like myself) Also I'm surprised that when you started at that location you didn't have to deal with the 5 Wolves surrounding that trader.
If you wanna fit 3 storage crates on a self you need to put the 1/2 pillars on top of the other pillers and sack all the pillars from the middle off you don't need them just use 3 long beams instead xxxx
I'm hoping this game will be a DayZ killer. The only real problem i had with it were the giant zombies, they seemed to beyond that whole "suspend disbelief while gaming" rule because it took so much ammo to kill them. nuff said?
You should be able to light a fire even in the rain, maybe the 5 stack of logs was too much...not sure though I use branches only because they burn for 60 seconds each approximately. Also there is clay around the traders at least there is a lot northeast of your base at the car repair trader

Gameedge just FYI it only snows in winter what u called snow storms in the summer were sand storm yellowish tint too the screen ash storms grayish tint too the screen and y can see your ft prints behind you has u walk or snow only in winter since the beginning of the games release and snow makes the screen have a light or whitish tint too the screen

Would love a post-apocalyptic survival game that doesn't involve zombies, mutants, aliens or other supernatural silliness. Hold Your Own & The Long Dark are about it. Non post-apocalyptic games like Green Hell, Survival: Fountain of Youth and the much maligned Escape the Pacific are great but I don't understand the over-saturation and obsession with the undead.

I'm glad that folks who enjoy them have so many (would 'fleshed out' be too on the nose here?) great games to play. I would, selfishly, love a new game with less of the icky, spooky nasties but I fully support other's inalienable right to play what they like (and have their parent or guardian's permission, if applicable)
I don't like that the gas station is smaller and not loaded like it used to be. The shelter-building system still sucks. The devs need to put a simple shelter with the option to upgrade in this game. I still want to see the improvements and upgrades that were made to the game.
yeah i stopped playig this too many zombies and now bandits to worry about and doggs ands stuff lol cant loot a town without too many zombies in the way and they respawn soooo fast
Yeah and no way does a hammer and axe sit so still and float beside the character as well as the character being able to sprint at full speed with 60 pounds of items that seemingly fit perfectly without spilling out if the bag. If you want realism go touch grass
Stay in the camp fire when cooking it only takes a few seconds to cook otherwise you get a failed recipe, you also dont need all the columns in the middle you just need the outta for wall support and along to the top for roof/floor support, you can Dismantle with your hammer.

GE, you need to learn to make planks and to cook food you have to put it on the bottom three chicken legs. The top chicken legs are for dirty water.
You should also add another half wall before putting up the roof so when you build shelves you can use all the shelves

If you don't have to worry about material weight then over engineering doesn't really matter outside of deforestation.
Channel ThatFoolishGrrl has just started the same map 1 and her cabin has zero columns in the center, only in the most outside walls.

Sounds and looks a lot like sunkenland you can prob delete the pillar after u use it to get it out the way

Game is too hard first few hours. No reason to build unless you have hordes turned on. Late game is boring. No digging.

That build only needs 1 pillar in each corner and the beams across the top then walls then roof.
