Awww... that is SO sweet. I've been a HUGE Yoshi fan ever since I was about 5-6 years old... and I'm now 25. I really think Yoshi is my #1 favorite character in the ENTIRE 'Super Mario' franchise. He's such a darling little sweetheart... and I think he's very special. In a rather poignant, yet powerful way. The manner in which Nintendo depicts him throughout so many videogames, I think that has resonated strongly and will, as they say, stand the test of time. Yoshi is always so kind, gentle, and humble. A faithful companion who will never leave your side. I almost want to say that one of my favorite roles Yoshi has is in Tetris Attack. If you take time to read the instruction booklet and see the tutorials, you have the sweetest thing of all: Yoshi casually engages with the player via word bubbles. The end credits show the simple, yet touching imagery of a smiling, contented Yoshi running down an endless rainbow in the air, with the peaceful world beneath him.
This is EXACTLY why I love Yoshi, honestly. I already discovered this a couple years ago, but to see it be put in a video just makes me feel good about the fact that my point of view on Yoshi isn't exclusive. Share the love, just like Yoshi!

Yoshi doesn't die when you jump off him over a pit, he turns back into an egg. This was proven to be true in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Yoshi only dies if Mario stays on Yoshi as he falls. But if Mario is not on him, Yoshi is seen transforming into an egg again and teleporting to safety. So jumping off yoshi in midair is actually humane.
Yoshi has been my favorite videogame character for over 10 years now and I'm pretty sure no one is going to take his spot anytime soon :) Yoshi will always be loved by me :D
Luigi isn't dull, or boring...! He's clumsy and cowardly and that makes him funny much (MUCH) more relatable and human than Mario, in my opinion. That's why I like him. He is just a normal guy, in an odd world. You should revise your concepts on Luigi.

I was suprised, but the Yoshi ditch trick actually worked when I played Mario Galaxy 2! I don't feel bad because if I stayed on Yoshi, we'd BOTH die. That's actually how I actually found out! Ditching Yoshi so he could live in his egg instead of dying in an abyss! It was cool!
Yoshi was my imaginary friend when i was little. He was the character i always defaulted to, whether it be a sports title or smash. I always had such an admiration for him growing up.
