She is an artist that does everything in the creative process DIY performing, dancing, coreography, directing, producing, engineering, composing....You get the picture....
I came back to see how you reacted to comments from your Wuthering Heights reaction. Glad to see you survived but Im glad you're still here reacting to the original artistic genius of Kate Bush. : ) Fun fact, Madonna said she was heavily influenced by her. Greetings from an Aussie Fan.
The song is about understanding your partner's feelings (in the relationship ) and their view of life , and wanting to swap places with them to see life from their point of view. If they could swap places, they would understand each other better. She doesn't want her and her partner to hurt, 'do you want to feel how it feels ? ' She has no fear. I think she is talking about experiencing love with no drama/ insecurities, just enjoying and appreciating the relationship. Ideally.
Her album Hounds of Love, which this song is on is near perfect. It would be cool to have you react to the second half which is known as the 9th wave. It’s a continuous story between tracks. I think you will dig it. It’s completely unique.
The 9th Wave is revered by fans but maybe challenging for the unaccustomed. I suggest This Woman's Work, a big hit from later in Kate's career instead.
I will add this to the list. I will make sure I am in a good mindset and have plenty of time to soak it in. Do you know of a good place I can stream it all the way through?
Kate's not for everybody, I guess. The song is self-explanatory - she wants to change places with her man so they can see things from each other's perspective. BTW, the microphone headset that is ubiquitous among singers today? Kate invented it so she could dance and sing at the same time.
Stranger Things is set in the 80s... Hence the music.. I gave up on stranger things in season 2 when they were using CGI, which I hate, in an "80s" show.
I like that Kate bush appeared on two Roy Harper albums along with Gilmore. Harper is my bob Dylan. Superior writer superior person and a daily stoner who like this daily stoner is over 70 and in good health. So much for killer weed, and it's the only drug I ever used and continue to use

@@AndrewMalcolmson true but he’s a Tool fan so I don’t think it would be too out there for him.
The Woman's Work is on the list :)

She's asking God to swap places with her partner so they can see thru their eyes the challenges that couples face and so get a better understanding.
The synth was a Fairlight

She’s a bloody legend ❤
I thought that was an accurate approximation of that sound. Maybe you could replace her skloodlehopps player.
