Fresh Coriander (Cilantro) Chutney Recipe I've made this a bunch of times, and it's incredibly delicious! Many recipes include mint, but I like this one as it is. Ingredients: * 1 bunch (¼ lb.) fresh cilantro (Chinese parsley) * ¼ cup fresh lemon juice * ¼ cup water * ¼ cup grated coconut * 2 tablespoons fresh ginger root, chopped * 1 teaspoon barley malt or honey * 1 teaspoon sea salt * ¼ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper Directions: Blend lemon juice, water and fresh cilantro until cilantro is chopped. Add remaining ingredients and blend until it is like a paste. Can be stored in covered refrigerator up to one week. I usually double the recipe and eat it within a day or two, all by myself. It's that good. Excellent with dals, grains, curries, bread... and on Mumbai veggie sandwiches!
I've never seen anything like it before but I just know that if it comes from India, all the ingredients will work together perfectly. I can't wait to go to India. I retired 3 years ago and it was number 1 on my bucket list but then came covid. It's still my most desired destination.

@@dhruvbhattvideo6506 yes but people love to eat it, even their melting sandwich is 250/- there not like normal sandwich their are jumbo size with good taste & quality...
@infinity8636 Yes. Onion as well. I didn't suggest onion because the first 3 fills can still do the job of making the sandwich taste good. You can skip the rest and it will still work well. Onion tomato cucumber are the additional stuff that add the next level in flavours. Cheese is a nonsense addition. Its painful to see how all good food is being ruined with its addition. A fair bit is ok.
Exactly what part of this vlog is art to you? He's literally cramming everything he has at his stall into each sandwhich. That sure slows down the ingestion process. Many a man/woman have suffered choking from consuming heavy, stuffed sandwhiches.
Interesting to me that three of the main ingredients of this sandwich came from here (I am in Mexico at the moment), peppers, tomatoes and potatoes....OK potatoes came more from the south but this is a new world sandwich!
A lot of foods which we think of as Old World are really old world. Peppers, tomatoes, and potatoes, like you mentioned, all came from the New World. Get rid of those in Old World cuisine, and you're going to have a short list, or recipes would look (and taste) quite different.
The world became a richer place with the adoption of crops cultivated in the pre-Columbia Americans: Avocados, vanilla, chocolate, cassava, cashews, cranberry, chili peppers, peanuts, pecans, papaya, persimmon, pineapples, potatoes, beans, maize, maple syrup, squash, sunflower, tomatoes, tobacco and much more.
@@nestormartinez1593 I suppose it all depends one's conception of what "authentic" is. They certainly don't skimp on the butter which is being liberally smeared on all three slices of white bread used to make that sandwich. The rising standard of living in India has been credited for the increase rates of heart disease there because more people can afford to eat chunks of the dairy fat with every meal where before they had to use cheaper vegetables oils to cook their foods and to use them more sparingly at that.
Layers of the finished sandwich, from bottom to top: 1. white bread 2. butter 3. cilantro chutney 4. boiled potato slices 5. masala (Mumbai style sandwich masala) 6. slivered red onion 7. cilantro chutney 8. butter 9. bread 10. juicy sliced tomatoes (they'll soak into the bare side of the bread) 11. masala 12. slivered green peppers 13. shredded cheese 14. cilantro chutney 15. butter 16. bread
While I share the concerns about the hygiene standards on display, the sandwich looks delicious! I've done some internet searching on the powder / spice mix and I think it might be Mumbai Sandwich Masala - there are various recipes available across the internet and it looks like an easy enough mix to make at home. The green paste is 'Green' or 'Coriander and Mint' chutney and this too seems like an easy enough thing to make at home. Again, various recipes available across the internet.
