Just recently found your channel and I am really enjoying your content! Keep up the good work! Do you think you can do a video on broadsides since they lost core?

Broadsides losing core means that a unit that was way too powerful is now just very powerful. Railrifle-builds can be incredibly good atm and missiletides are also still t5 2+sv battlesuits with 8 wounds and 16 shots each. Its fair that they lost core. 3 of them may still easily wipe out a squad of 20 necron warriors or 30 ork boys in a single turn.

Commanders are yet another example of how versatile you could get with the new codex and still get a decent build.

Ow, Geoff is going over the commander. He says it going to be long. *Checks video length* Oh this is going to be good. *Goes to make coffee*
Personally as commanders are more expensive and have a great Ballistic skill I'm more ok with taking a duplicate weapon, but I don't like going for a 3rd weapon of the same type. I think taking a weapon that is good at a similar target is better.
Rather than a shield generator and losing a weapon for more protection, I sacrifice a signature system and take iridium armour and be'gel hunter's plate for a 1+ save (0+ in cover) and a 5+ Fell No Pain. Even in the open it has to be a -4ap to give a worse save than the 4+ the shield generator gives.
For drones, I like 1-2 marker drones with characters. No only to take an odd shot that can target the commander, but I can also split off the drone to do sacrifical stuff, such as screen off chargers and deepstrike or go to sit on an objective such as the middle one for the Strangehold.
Not sure on the Positional Array allowing turn 1 deepstrike. Its for strategic reserves, ie. coming on from the edge of the board. The Positional Array only allows you to count it as one turn later for "where" you can arrive. It also forces the commander to be near the board edge where you want them to come on. Imho only the Stealth Suit's homing beacon allows turn 1 deepstrike.

hmm, I guess I always though that deep striking units were under the reserves umbrella

@@teachergeoff9833 Both deepstriking and strategic reserves are under the reinforcement umbrella, but they are different things.

Brand new to 40k - My kid saw the Tau Combat Patrol and loved the "mechs". After getting the codex and then finding your channel, I became interested in playing them as well, problem is I'm having a really hard time translating the codex and your video's to how they work on the tabletop. Any chance you could setup a series of video tutorials with models on the table and go over mechanics? I've watched your marker lights video 3 times and I still don't get it. THANKS and keep up the great work!!
