At the age of 5 in 1964, I met Carl and Esther Mays at a small ranch outside of Dayville Oregon. They both were characters and very good friends of my grandparents. Carl had taught my brother and I how to hold and throw a baseball in his backyard. Later, he taught me how to fish and he taught my brother how to shoot a rifle. If I remember Carl passed in 1971 and the last time I saw Esther was about 10 years later. I very much enjoyed the time I spent with both of them.
The most important thing that pitching style did was to hide the cues that batter used to judge a pitch. Because the ball is only visible at the last moment, the batter has to nearly start his swing before he even sees the ball.
Why ignore the fact that he said he felt no remorse for Chapman's death because it was an accident? Maybe had he shown even a sliver of responsibility, especially since he lobbed that ball in anger because Chapman was 'crowding the plate'... He was talented and successful but a complete and total narcissistic jerk!

Cobb threw his bat at Mays once, and another time tried to spike Carl,to keep him from throwing at his head.Mays was a notorious bean baller.

You're a know-nothing nincompoop.
You also left out the facts that Mays was mad at Chapman that day & you left out the 1921 World Series cheating scandal. How convenient.
A song commemorating Carl Mays and this tragic event: th-cam.com/video/8xUpPCyo4S8/w-d-xo.html
You left out the fact of him being a head hunter. That’s why Ty Cobb hated him!! He purposely hit Ty Cobb & many other players!!!
Let's be honest, you all read Ray & Me by Dan Gutman, that's why you're here.
They said one time carl mays got bruised up broken ribs fractured jaw after his fight with junk Walter.
