You might want to look into the issues with the trigger/bolt. I believe Remington issued a recall back in the day. The bolt won't open with the rifle on "safe". You have to put the gun on "fire" before the bolt will open, and sometimes the rifle will fire a round when the safety is pushed to "fire", without the trigger being pulled.
A great message here all around. The II Timothy quote is on point, as is your quote "It's OK to love somebody....but it's not OK to just be accepting." Well stated. I have the 721 in 30-06. Fantastic rifle!
I picked one up at a pawnshop in a 30-06 it’s a BDL model 721 and I don’t think that there was that many of them this was the only second checker stock model I have seen and it is stamped with a B on the action behind 721 and my gun code says it was made in 1949
Found one of these rifles goin for double now, I've grown fond of owning solid firearms of the bygone era of wood and steel with an authentic feel to em and enjoy the 270 round as well. Will take into consideration for the price as it's still a more available option in this post covid economy and a gorgeous rifle
I’ve got a 1961 model. Love it. But get a Timney or RifleBasix replacement trigger. This comment will start a firestorm of arguments but…new Remington Model 700 rifles now come with Timney triggers. You be the judge.
Are you colorblind? The box is green and yellow whereas you said green and white… I am not insulting you! Just trying to understand you as I’m new here! Best regards and thanks for this great review
Outstanding video!...I also have a Model 721 in 270. Made in 1949 of my info is correct. I also have an older all steel Weaver variable scope on it. The old girl holds a pretty decent group with 130 grainers. I would like to quote a saying by Paul in II Thessalonians Chapter 2 vs 3. II Thessalonians was written after Paul discovered that they we're misunderstanding I Thessalonians and he wanted to correct/assure them. Yeshua/Jesus is certainly coming back, but NOT before the son of Perdition makes his appearance first to fool a lot of the people that he is the Christ and he is coming to take you away. Do not be fooled! Do not worship the false Christ! Thanks/Subscribed
I got my 721 used over fifty years ago. It is in .270 caliber and it has always shot better than I do. What a great rifle.

try to get a set of scope rings that are lower. I like the leather cheek piece. classic look. Great rifles.
great info thank you
My family didn't sit in hunting blinds. That said, the Remington 721 is a great rifle. I slipped mine into a Magpul stock with a detachable magazine.

I have the same rifle and caliber that my grandpa gave me. I did the m16 extractor switch because the original started failing. Great gun though
