- Join me and my dad on a unique tour of 31st Avenue in Astoria, Queens, as the street undergoes an exciting transformation into a "bike boulevard." In this video, my dad and I explore the newly redesigned 31st Avenue, which will feature protected bike lanes, reduced travel lanes for motorists, and staggered directions to prioritize cyclists' safety and encourage a more bike-friendly environment.

Aww, your dad's the cutest. Action Dad!!
You beat me to it 😁, was going to suggest to AK that his dad should start his own channel as action dad.
Your Dad Rocks 👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆😃
He sure does!
i hope your dad will still be included in your videos once you get back on your feet it's nice to hear him.
I like your dad, true old school new yorker, awesome video
Your dad is strong🎉whereas your young friends tire out , your dad keeps going!😊
Dad loves him ❤
I love your dad!!! I think the conversations between you two as you go through the neighborhood are just wonderful!
Father and son together would a great union ! I wish my dad was still around
Thank you so much for the support!
Action Dad is the best!!!
Your dad is incredibly cute and wise.
I agree with others who have commented and recommend an electric wheelchair.
May you heal well.
It was nice to see your dad again and Astoria😎 It’s great that you’ve people helping you with that wheelchair 🙂Thank you for sharing this A K🙂👍!!!
Much appreciated, glad you enjoyed it!
Hi AK!....it's great you have this son/dad time. It's important and you will remember this time for the rest of your lives.
Absolutely!
Count your blessings, dad sounds like a real great pops to have, love it.
I am loving these conversations with you and Dad, AK! Your dad is a wealth of information and an example of strength and stamina! I am terribly sorry you are suffering--as a runner, I know the pain of being 'down' and unable to have independence to go go go. But this tragedy introduced your dad to the YT world and now your audience can enjoy a wonderful NYC-only father-and-son dynamic! Keep it Going!!
Thanks!
You're welcome!
I enjoyed the wheelchair tour of Astoria with your dad
have a good Tuesday and Thanks AK.☕👍🇺🇲
Thank you so much!
Hi AK, you and your dad are really getting good at this! Loved it😍
Oooolala…your daddy has a great smile!😊 safe travels!
Thank you so much!
Really grateful for you (and your Dad) for taking some disabled person walk-about around NYC. Never easy to get around with a wheelchair or a walker, though things are getting better. If you return to Miami, would love to see you check out disabled access options especially in places like South Beach as many tourists enjoy that part of Miami Beach.
Your pops is cool, AK. He knows how to balance his own knowledge with asking you questions that help further the content and storylines. Very dope duo!
Wonderful walk around Astoria AK! Loved having your Dad accompany you & hearing his commentary about the neighborhood. I agree with you, there are things in NYC that definitely need improvement, but NYC is a fabulous, exciting city! 🥰 Thanks for all you do AK!🧡
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Your Dad is so Cute 🥰.... I was raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in the late 50's,60's,70's .... Like your Dad same time era( if I remember correctly from your last video) I like hearing him reminisce about the way things used to be in the 60s and 70s cuz I can certainly relate from living in Brooklyn which wasn't too different from Astoria because my uncles used to live in a story and we would go there Sunday dinners with my great big Italian family 💖 Take Care of your foot.... Don't wear your Dad out❣️
Loving Action Kid and Action Dad vids!
Thanks to your Dad. Be careful
That was an interesting video of the Astoria area, and exploring with your dad! 👏
Speedy recovery to you AK 🙏
Thank you so much for watching!
Thank action dad and action kid. I live in manhattan but work in LIC. VERY INTERESTING
Bless your dad for helping you and going up those hills , he’s amazing for his age ❤❤❤
Thank you for another walk. I am so happy that you are finding help during this healing phase of your injury. Such a sweet dad to do this for you. Looking forward to more
Good to see your getting out and about with your Dad pushing you around, enjoying your Dad.🙂
Hey, AK! I really enjoy these walks you and your dad. He's a wealth of information and knowledge. Thanks. 😊
The one good thing about AK having his accident in Toronto it was close enough to NYC where dad could pick him up . And also near NYC where his You Tube friends could assist him ! Think some similar event happening in SE Asia .
It is nice to follow your Dad and you in your neighbourhood and discovering new places. 😀👍
You have a great dad AK!☺️ Hope your recovery is speedy 🎉
I hope u wii get better quickly~~from south korea
Saw you in July, I yelled out Action Kid!
You were with Barr and your crew lower East Side around the corner from Katz's. Thanks for stopping and shaking hands. I appreciate it and appreciate your channel. Hope you're on the mend and walking soon!
Love seeing you and your Dad in this vid. Great bonding moments here.
Very cool! Thank you so much for all the support!
Hopefully, the redesign will be much safer, and people will eventually adapt to these changes.16:36 It's neat to see the temporary lines showing the new traffic design and the newly resurfaced streets. 23:52 Heartwarming! ❤ It was nice see you and your dad enjoyed some bonding time and for him to push you around the neighborhood while wearing fashionable boots! 😎 Thank you for sharing this tour along with your dad, AK! 🤗
Heartwarming?? I’d bet my house you didn’t graduate from an Astoria HS..
@@rick063092 A father and son hanging out is not heartwarming to you? It's none of your business if I graduated from an Astoria HS or not.
@@HengMiao their relationship certainly is, however some of us are beyond the superficial and faintly evident .. Forcing the change up of neighborhoods because of special interest money isn’t heartwarming.. you tipped your hand with that forcing people “to adapt” line ..Trust me, my asking you if you went to an Astoria HS was purely rhetorical - the answer was patently obvious ..with you quoting “safety” and “adaption” in your comment- you’d fit right in there now though..
@@rick063092 Now you're trying to twist my words to fit your narrative. There's a reason why I put a timestamp of AK with his dad, and that is the heartwarming moment, but of course you purposely took it out of context to support your statements. I sure hope you're aware that these street redesigns don't just occur specifically to Astoria. Changes happen in many cities and neighborhoods around the world, and people will have to adapt.
I love Astoria, it was fun growing up there and still living there!
AK & AD 👍👍
I hope you leave your Dad a five star review. Get well soon 🎉
One thing I miss is Frank’s Diner that used to be right on 31st at the Ditmars subway stop. I think it closed a few years ago. Astoria Bagels on Ditmars was my go to when I lived here 1994-1997.
Your mind is mixing up Mike Diner & Frank’s Pizza
@@rick063092 Oh dear..yeah you're right. Mike's Diner is the one I meant, of course. The pizza joint across the street was once pretty good too. But the diner used to be great in the 90s.
Finally, after nearly 18 minutes, you choose the sidewalk instead of the busy street. Of course it's safer to be walking on the sidewalk instead of in the street. I would never do this, especially in the city and especially pushing a loved one in a wheelchair. And meanwhile, the irony is, you were regularly pointing out the dangerous transgressions of the drivers right around you.
Listen, love you, I'm subscribed and a contributor, but this is not a great example ActionKid. And dad. Take care.
So glad you’re getting out there, and with family! Accessibility is so important. Things like walk up buildings, or basements, even stoops with stairs, must be big obstacles for many people. I wonder if you’ve tried the subway / bus / etc and can share your experiences. Thanks. Hoping you get well soon.
Still out there doin your thing kid!
One legged in a wheelchair and still doin it!!
Respect from Dayton Ohio brother.
Headed that way for Halloween and the marathon this year.
Best wishes and speedy recovery!
What’s so interesting to my point of view and I admire this is that your injury caused you to give some light to your family and friends to help you out on your journey as you get through your healing process that’s very dope.
Also I pray you have a fast recovery ! Glad to see you pushing through strong
Hi actionkid 😊 i hope You get better soon
Hi Ken
Good night & how are you?
This is so my area.
We can certainly be neighbors 😊
I hope to see you around.
Hello to your dad. He's such a great person, we appreciate him doing this for you and taking us along.
so hard working, have a speedy recovery.
I love Queens. Lived in Manhattan until moving to Chicago in 2018. And one of my friends is a chinese-american guy who lives in Queens and reminds me of your father!
It was cool seeing the neighborhood & you're dad again,😎 It was also good that you have so many helping even though still in wheelchair. 😃Thank you for sharing, AK!!!😎👍
Get well soon ! @ Action Kid 😮
The ActionKid is sympathetic to the plight of restaurants in New York City. 🐼
ACTION POPS!
God bless you Action Kid I Love your channel Get Well Soon AK your dad is cool ❤
You should show us how to use the NYC subway in a wheelchair, it would be interesting!
I was born in Astoria General. Lived on 24 St.n 40th Ave.Before I moved out to Long Island I lived on 28 St and Dimars Blvd.I walked all over Astoria .
Nice to see you spending more time with you're Dad. and that he is able to physically be able to push you around. alto if you had gotten a chair with the big wheel in the back it would be a lot easier to push around ? I think? My wife broke her leg couple years ago and we went thru having to push her around and that big wheel made a huge difference in ease of pusing it. Anyway speedy recovery Ken thank you and you're Dad for another great video God speed from "The Old Man" ECF
I need the exercise anyway. LOL.
This part of the neighborhood is nice.
Astoria is probably gonna become the new Williamsburg. It's prime real estate, still hasnt seen the effects of "gentrification", it's safe, quiet, charming. It's got everything you'd want living in NYC, including the epic view of Manhattan.... Wish I could afford it!
I don't drink coffee either, lol, but I enjoyed the adventure. Your dad is great. I really enjoy the conversations between the two of you. I thought it was interesting to hear about the restaurants and their struggles. It's wrong to fine them $500 for their outdoor seating areas. Firstly, they no doubt spent a lot to construct them. COVID is not completely gone and even if it was there will always be another virus to take it's place. Outdoor dining options are a good thing. In saying that, the restaurant owners need to maintain them.
I’m glad they have food inspections.
actiondad in da house
I live right there in Astoria Houses by the Ferry!!!
ActionKid = NICE JOB w/commentary on history of neighborhood. 31st Avenue Controversial Urban Redesign in Astoria = 36:59 / 41:51
Your dad looks like Bruce Lee from behind 😊
Show us more about your neighbourhood while you're recovering. It's nice hear what your dad has to say too. Thank you.
お大事に!
I’d rent an electric wheelchair too - even for a few days!
$500 a month I believe.
❤
You look so much alike!
He’s sweet.
Best Vater ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would like to see the area of where the DeNiro studios/Development will be. I am already familiar with the area of Kaufman Museum and studio area. I heard that they want to make all of this the "Little Hollywood of the East "
I, for one, welcome our robot overlords!
👋
Nice morning 😊
Blue,Green and White are the colors of NYPD.
Do a video using the subway in a wheelchair, obviously stick to accessable stations
I think the Cyclone st Coney Island has reopened
Watch the pigeons 😊
When will dad launch his Action Dad channel? =)
Make full recovery
Safely friend❤️😊🇺🇸 how now feel, Safely travel and rest
Or better yet, rent a mobility scooter.
I love usa😊❤️🇺🇸
It's future destination
Please tell me you are not sitting in that wc all the time! Get up and walk around straightening those knee tendons. Don’t let then contract on you.
Not happy with this change. My mom called 30th Grand for the longest time.
LIP CHAAPED
Why are you walking in the road? Wouldn't you be safer on the Sidewalk. A Police car past within feet it's a wonder they didn't stop and tell you
The purpose of the video was to show the redesigning of the street. More difficult to see from the sidewalk. Did you not find it more effective? Plus, the road was recently paved making it a smoother journey than all the cracks on the sidewalk.
@michaelchin3550 Michael I see your point and totally agree thanks mate. I'm a great fan of Ken and not criticising him just worried about him and his dad getting hit by some drunken motorist. I think highly of Chinese people, the Salt of the Earth. Take care mate
@@Billyo1000 😍
Get a electric wheelchair
AK's situation is only temporary. Simplicity equals brilliance.
That would be ideal, but also quite expensive. Just a good wheelchair (with big rear wheels) would also be a great improvement.
@@qazatqazah AK will be graduating to a knee scooter in a few days. Electric wheelchair, heavier/ bigger wheelchair and his transport chair will be history. LOL. Thanks for everyone's input but AK knows what he needs to do.
I've been using electronic wheelchairs since I haven't been able to walk for the last 12 years because of spine injury, I currently use a Powerchair that costs about $7000 and that's at the mid end of options, they last about five years and if you get one with a gel battery you get about 8 to 9 hours of straight gives they travel at about 5 mph max. But you can also rent them temporarilyand I think that would be a good option for you
In 6 weeks he will be walking again
The city won’t be satisfied until every road is put on a road diet and screws up traffic everywhere. You should get a regular wheelchair with the large rear wheels, you are using a transfer chair that makes you feel every bump, but you were used th that on your scooter. Get well soon!
Woke transplants destroyed a great neighborhood ..
Agree, so many classic, old school Italian and Greek families with the best food. Then all the yuppies moved in after about 2010 and destroyed the place.
@@kayflip2233those ain’t yuppies.. Trust fund socialists more like it..
Fun with Actionkid and actionfather😅..cool to see america Dreamteam on the road 🧑🦽➡️again👀👍🇺🇸🇩🇪
