FYI folks, you can actually buy parts at Spoon HQ, unlike Mugen HQ. Bought my DC5 Spoon calipers there. Saved about 300-400 dollars getting them there vs the US price and state tax as I live very near GoTuning (Main Spoon US dealer) That elevator where Albo was sitting next to is the same elevator where Ichishima-san walked out of as soon as I entered the building through the main entrance sliding door back in March 2018. He was a pushing pulley with parts boxes stacked. It was surreal. He asked me what I was looking for and guided me to the proper personnel to purchase. Saw him later at TypeOne, took a pic with him next to a DC5 they had there getting an alignment. As I left I saw him pulling away in a work van and he actually pulled over to give me a ride to Ogikubo JR station (since he said the box with the calipers I was carrying was pretty heavy). We had nice chat with all the English he knew. Amazing once in a lifetime experience for sure.

Mugen parts are factory options from Honda in Japan so that’s why they’re pricy afterwards as the stocks go out.

in best motoring there is one civic fd type r driven by spoon owner or ceo, a lot of different sounds came from the engine exactly similar to my engine, some corners v8 sound some corners throttle sounds, some corners cam sound, like the engine components from inside hits hard moving hard inside the engine, he finish almost 4 rank but still nice sounds.
A very insightful look at Spoon HQ. I knew it was small; it's both the beauty and the curse of one of Honda's most renowned aftermarket companies. There are so many areas where Spoon could innovate in the aftermarket space but they focus on quality over quantity. I respect it but it is hard to sit here and see all the EG and EK goodies that we'll never have meanwhile the FK chassis is getting a lot of love. I hope that the Built by Legends EG6 sparks an interest for Spoon to develop or co-develop more products for the 90s Hondas like they are doing with the FK shock/coils. I can't wait for the Spoon mask's I'll rock one while driving my yellow Thomas International Type C once the school year kicks off. Thanks for the tour.

You would still be missing the Japanese craftsmanship, which is worth at least $2k by itself 🙂
The parts you buy from Spoon are just the same as the parts they use when assembling their engines in house. However when you buy the full engine directly from Spoon, you have the peace of mind that it's been assembled by a professional, in an environment as clean as a surgeon's operating theatre. That's what you're paying the extra for.
In my opinion it's worth paying the extra if you can afford it, for the additional peace of mind as well as to support a great business and those who work for it. :)
still need skill and they not warrenty that shit if you DIY....it.. it a car not a IKEA...

Heisenberg down there working on a new formula in Japan.
this gentleman working in spoon sports says all 7000 above rpm the engine like vibrate and move from inside, then they not really familiar to my engine because my engine vtec 7200 but i didn't wire the vtec because it's very powerful i don't really need more than this it's cut the breath out, it's 6500 only without the vtec wire up but still work hard and vibrate strong sometimes very noticeable, i believe someone probably in the game of drag race not really track based cars, built a one of kind engine, that why i change the engine oil pre when i swap the engine first 3 to 4 time oil change i changed only 2000km instead of 5000km i like the engine a lot i didn't want to something happen to the engine .

As well as selling them as a product, you can see all of the staff wearing them, so I believe they treat them as part of their uniform now to maintain a great image to any customers
