    It’s nice to be able to back that mower into the tree line and keep the tractor/operator from getting scratched …… I’m always getting beat up on the riding mowers because I try to cut too close to the trees. Looks like a sweet set-up! Have a good weekend! 👋

    My mower is a Southeast brand. It is definitely not a top of the line mower, but it is amazing how well it has held up. It is one that my Dad bought. I would have gone with a Woods without question. If and when this one goes, I will be going with a Woods, but by then, the major abuse to the mower will be behind me, pardon the pun.
    Looking good Richie. Gotta love the L2501's, don't ya?

    Nice work, Richie. Can definitely tell from this video and the truck video that it is WET around there. You can have the drone auto-follow you. that is how I do it. I do not have a lovely camera/drone flyer to help me. My wife is busy finishing up her bachelor's degree. hahahahah

      I would probably still crash in auto follow 😂 nothing but rain rain and today is 100 degrees and sunny followed by a few more days of straight rain. Really no fun lol thanks for watching Kyle.

    I own a Bush Hog BH15, but I do like the Woods BrushBull because it has a good clean cut and it cuts low. I would buy one.

    I have a brush hog squealer that I use behind my Kubota M 6800. I have beat the day lights out of it mowing trails on a farm restoration job I'm doing. The man that owns the farm has a brush bull, 48" much better piece of equipment than the brush hog. Keep your fingers crossed that rain will stop eventually :-). Great video Richie. Paul

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bush hog brand makes some nice units as well. That would probably have been my second choice but the local dealer had this woods in stock. I really liked the design of it and the price was fair. It was 100 degrees and sunny today but now the sky is black storms coming. It’s going to. Be tough to get second cut hay in, and the massive amounts of rain are drowning out our garden a bit. Last year heat was a drought year … just our luck lol thanks for watching Paul!

    You have a really nice property . My wife is always on edge when I back the tractor too the pond like that with flail mower .I have too get even closer than you did 😂 . I have strict orders too make sure all the trails are mowed for her and the hounds too walk everyday . Been thinking on moving up too a hydraulic manipulating flail mower for banks and under trees etc . 👍

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s is a very heavy duty mower! I found with the 2501 it’s better to keep the clutch on the slightly looser side to keep the tractor end of things protected. Very good price as well.

I really like the woods brand. I got a Landpride and found it on marketplace. It was almost brand new, slip clutch and was only 700 bucks. Like I said, it look brand new! It doesn't look like it now though haha. I only had it a little over a year. My property is rough though.

    Late comment but looking into a gear model of the same model. Gotta say that 25hp cranks up really quick and has a totally different sound then the rest. Handles that brush hog well.

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think on this model it makes it’s “rated hp” at 2k rpm but you can def crank past that. Same motor as l3400 which was 35hp

    Do you have the brush hog level? I’ve heard to run it level, I have also heard to have some pitch front to back. Any thoughts?

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on the type of cutting I’m doing, putting it level will do the most shredding but will take up more power. If I’m mowing briars and stuff I shorten up the top link to be able to lift it higher and drop it down on stufff but in general I pitch it forward slightly to help let the material discharge

    Looks like both machines are doing a good job. How much does your cutter weigh? Does the 2501 handle OK with the FEL removed? Thanks

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the mower is just under 700lbs. I actually prefer how the 2501 handles with the loader removed. Actually have a video on removal/install of the loader in the works to be edited, should be available tomorow or sunday morning! With the loader on it makes the rear feel very light and creates alot more weight on the front axle than on the reat. Thanks for watching!

    What about bees my friend? All of you who own tractors and you enjoy mowing please 🙏 protect the flowers. The native pollinators, honey bees they feed on those flowers you mow. To not say that by not allowing the plant to self sowing that can lead to No flowers in years to come.

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well if you don’t mow and maintain it would just turn into forest with no flowers for bees.
