This was a solid study. I'm glad the point regarding the different bible versions were brought out. It is important for us to understand the devil will only change his tactics in trying to destroy the authenticity of the word of God. He will be far more subtle as he was in Eden - by adding or subtracting from what God has said. He takes on a more covert fashion today.

Thank you Pastor Rafferty for that short teaching on the importance of the best translation/s of the Bible. The KJV is the Bible of the Reformation. We are completing the Reformation so we should use it. It is the best translation for Protestants. The others are the CounterReformation's efforts to lead us back to Rome and the AntiChrist.
For those who think their reading understanding inadequate for the KJV try Noah Webster's 1828 dictionary available online to help with understanding of unfamiliar words.

Some ppl can't read, but thank God for technology...its all available in audio. We still very blessed in the West, in that we are not persecuted on the Word of God as those in other parts of the world. Some serious revelation on the changes they have made on "the day of the Lord" hightlighted by James.

Yes Pastor Rafferty , back then Bibles were scarce. Nowadays, almost everyone has a mobile phone or tablet, and digital Bibles can be downloaded from the app store for free. Who would ever imagine looking to our own time from back then.

It’s nice that the King James Bible is still cherished as a great translation. There are many other good translations as well. Ones in modern English. The NASB is a great translation.

3. The consensus seems that the phrase refers to a time of great trouble (Joel 2:30-32, Zech. 14:1, Mal. 4:1,5, etc.) and the visitation of the Lord upon the earth (Zech. 14:4, 1 Pet. 2:12, etc.). Principle of “Tota Scriptura” quoted by Elder Perrin.
2. “Day of the Lord” - It is possible that Samuele Bacchiocchi, in his doctoral thesis at the Pontifical Gregorian University, tried to switch the interpretation to Sabbath.
The second guy brew out the truth about versions of the bible, many people don't know about that.

Well, I must say, I've picked apples before and that's not how apples are picked, nothing like shaking the tree. Apples bruise vary easily and careful treatment is how they are picked. The bruised ones on the ground may be juiced but they rot quickly and stores don't sell bruised apples.

Some Scriptures to consider…
Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Body + Breath of life = living being
Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”
The body returns to the dust, there is no immortal soul.
Even though a believer sleeps in death until the resurrection the next conscious thought they have is the resurrection and being present with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed- 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
See also 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 (It’s clear that the believer isn’t given immortality until “the last trumpet” at the resurrection.

Something Pastor James failed to distinguish was translation vs paraphrase. Most of his examples were paragraphs which should never be used as study Bibles. Pastor James, I have considerable respect for you. Please guard your integrity and your credibility.
