Now I know how to do it perfectly. I'm new to cake decorating and I made a color layered cake similar to yours for my daughter's birthday and never thought of how to slice it. At the party I was having a hard time slicing it in triangle shape. Hopefully at the celebration we had just kids and they didn't matter how well I sliced it and were just desperate to get a portion 😅. Thank you!
I’m a professional pastry chef so, l follow these trends (No matter how ridiculous I personally feel they are!) My problem isn’t slicing and serving these “Tall Cakes” it’s trying to find a “Boxes” tall enough to deliver these damn things in! By the way, your cake was lovely and it looks delicious.
This is the BEST size of wedding cake to have !!! your guests can actually enjoy a nice piece of Cake 🍰 and not have 2 bites and be done with their cake so quickly
Your cake is beautiful. And these cakes seems to be trendy now. But personally I don't like them. That's just me. Your cake is frozen for demonstration purposes. Cud u imagine a customer trying to cut that home at a birthday party. Why do we make tall cakes anyway? Lol
So glad I'm not the only one. The cakes are beautiful but to me not practical. Cutting like this at home would be catastrophic. Retired baker for 40 yrs. Guess I'm just old school
@@kandeewatson2740 it’s not hard at all actually. You do just have to chill it in the fridge for about 15 minutes at least before cutting it like this, and believe it or not it comes out perfect. If the frosting was soft due to room temperature it would be messy cutting it and unstable. But it’s really not hard at all. I love tall cakes. Mostly what I make. And when I make one for somebody, I always give them a link on TH-cam like this one to show them how to cut it for their party.
It's nice if you cut above the icing for the horizontal cut so the top and bottom have similar amounts of icing

so glad it helped you
Wow. That looks good, but it has to be very cold.ist people aren't serving cold cake. This would be a mess with warm cake.
Thank you
Have a bowl of hot water, clean towel to clean knife between slices.
Thank you this worked well for me and my buttercream was not super cold!

I know right and when you do end up finding boxes that would work their prices are outrageous!!

Hi.. Are u some1 from NYFA monologue module?
I am Miheeka
You cut 6 pieces and 8 pieces then 8 pieces then 6 pieces which comes to 28 pieces. You said you got 36 pieces. I don't understand!
Watch it again properly. She cut 2 x 6 pieces and 3 x 8 pieces .

What a mess serving
And some people get the two colors and some get the other 2 colors and some get way more frosting than others... Dumb cake and no good way to cut it.
