      Guide still shows Frozen Devotion for main hand. Should we be swapping to Shadowflame now? I've been running this set up since the changes came out and enjoy when DPS are sad their overall is under me :D

      It's a bit tricky, but that section of the guide probably just needs to be revised to be more clear.
      Prior to the recent damage buffs to all tanks, Shadowflame was better for pure ST, Frozen Devo was better for 2-4 targets, and Sophic was better for 5+. Now, Sophic is better for 3+, Shadowflame is better for ST, and Frozen Devo is best as a second enchant in 2-target if you're dual-wielding, but not great otherwise.
      That being said, the difference between all the enchants is only about .5% damage, so it's not huge either way.
      A lot of players are just using Sophic on every weapon, and that works very well.

    I really appreciate the update and the high quality videos. I have a lot going on my personal and professional life so I don't have as much time to sit and read forms and try to figure out How to optimize my tanks. I genuinely appreciate the way you break things down in the easily digestible fashion so I don't have to just copy and paste what you're doing but I can understand why you're doing it. Thank you!

    brew is the most fun of the tanks, many unique abilites and its fast paced and deals a ton of dmg. especially in the very low keys im running rn since im mostly pugging. changed my talents a bit even though i was already using press the attack

    Why do you think Shadowflame Wreathe on one weapon is better than having two Sophic Devotion?
    It sims much lower for me and i feel like you will loose a lot of value every time it's applied to a mob that dies before the dot runs out, that's not even considered in the sim.

    • @WoWatNight
      @WoWatNight  ปีที่แล้ว

      Shadowflame Wreathe is only competitive in ST, so it's definitely not optimal for all-out AoE. There's a negative stigma in WoW with running the same enchant on both weapons while dual-wielding. Although both hands can proc the enchant, an enchant proc that occurs while one is already active will overwrite the existing one. This is why a lot of Demon Hunters run Sophic and Wafting (Haste), for example. The problem for Monks is that there isn't a high-value Crit or Vers proc enchant, just the cheapo Writs, and those aren't as good as just running a second Sophic Devotion and getting better uptime, even if some procs get wasted.
      That being said, a Shadowflame Wreathe enchant can still be decent on Tyrannical weeks, so it's not the worst approach in the world to run Sophic and Shadowflame in M+. It won't be quite as good on trash, but the difference is pretty slim either way.

    Question about Djaruun = are sims accurate? I have a heroic Djaruun 441 and sims say my 447 Forgestorm and 447 crafted wep are better

    • @WoWatNight
      @WoWatNight  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      447 Forgestorm and crafted are probably going to be better than a 441 Djaruun over the course of a run! Djaruun will perform better during the initial burst window, but that's a whopping 10 seconds.

      @@WoWatNight yeah that was my thoughts about it as well. Need a mythic Djaruun! Love the aesthetic of a 2 hander when playing Brew

      @@cameronswanson975 the problem is that Djaruun is a 2hander, and Press of advantage stacks of main hand attacks. + with 2 1handers it sim 2 runes on it

    Thanks for the video !
    I always asked myself why we couldn't take a point out of High Tolerance and put it in Fundamental Observation when playing both passive defensives (Y'sG and DotW)?
    So we'd still have an emergency button if needed and if Fortifying Brew isn't enough.
    Thanks again for the content !

      It's a niche option, for sure. Sitting in Zen Med is a 100% dps loss while it's active, and you're not generating active mitigation at that time, either, but it could be pretty useful for some of the longer magic damage events that Diffuse Magic doesn't really cover as well, like the Vileshard Hulks in Nelth's Lair's Piercing Shards. On Fortified, that's one of the most dangerous tank mechanics in this season, and Fundamental Observation could be helpful there.

      @aMarshall_ ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WoWatNight oh yeah, that's why. I forgot you couldn't do anything while Zen Med. Thanks

    I mean sure. Its a fine and fun spec. But nothing about this helps with it being a paper tank in m+

    • @WoWatNight
      @WoWatNight  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      15% less autoattack damage and ~20% more Brew CDR *does* help it with being a paper tank in M+. This is why Monks were clearing +28's immediately after the patch released.

    • @sh33pize
      @sh33pize ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that is a little bit overrated to call clearing 28s...there are 3x Underrot, 2x FH, 2x Nelt (also one on 29)...nothing more
      and no one is picking Brew in Pugs if you que alone, gave up after 30min trying to get into some 22/23 for some Rio

    To help with button bloat I macroed Purifying Brew and Rushing Jade Wind together and press Jade Wind on CD. I’m sure it’s not optimal but I play on a Xbox controller. So the least amount of buttons, the better.
