Thank you both for all the detailed information... very clearly and professionally shared!! I am 64 and dealing with this. It has definitely lessened the activity and quality of my life. I have an appointment with a specialist next week.
Thank you for the informative video. The doctor I went to see for my prolapsed bladder basically told me concerning a surgerical fix which included a full hysterectory was either her way or the highway!! I like the idea of the doctor giving the pros and cons of various options and then letting the patient decide which option they're comfortable with. Unfortunately I don't live on the West Coast, so I'm back to finding a doctor that agrees with the patient first philosophy!
I'm very worried I have this. I was super constipated and pushed really hard. I then noticed my IUD strings basically were outside of my vaginal opening. I thought my IUD was being expelled. I've gone to 2 docs who both said that my IUD is fine. I feel a fullness or bulging sensation and have not had normal bms in a week, completely constipated. I'm 99% sure this is what's going on. I'm 28...any hope for me that this can get better? I'm so uncomfortable and have had horrible anxiety
I am in NY, if I come to LA (my son leaves there) how long will I stay in the Hospital and also regarding the Insurance (I have Medicare (covers 80%) and AARP Insurance (Covers the other 20%). Please let me know.
I found it very reassuring to find that my problem is so common. I am 82 years old and was diagnosed with vaginal collapse many years ago. As my mother was dying at the time I put any treatment on hold, then as the years went by as it didnt really affect me - no pain and I was still very active. Now though, the bladder does come right out, especially when passing a motion. I dont really want surgery, do you think I could be helped with a pessary ?
I'm 29 and that is a fear. Doing laundry mine was trying to come out and I tried ti push it back and it tried to come out further. I had a hysterectomy so idk
Most informative and professionally explained having all the details helps any woman experincing this change will appreaciate and feel most comfortable. Best I have ever heard. Thanks Doctors God bless you.
Prolapses happen due to lack of exercise. There are many pelvic exercises to do, do some research and be surgery free, feeling tighter and fitter. Us women are build differently, we go through a lot from puberty, we got this👌
Not always i had all my plumbing takin out april 1999 sept 2000 found out i had scar tissue wrapped around my bladder my doctor set up surgery for sept 29,2000 during surgery he set fire inside of me putting holes in my bladder, intestines, left kidney, urethra and ureters.sent me home like that..dr nitti put me back together when he was new york city at nyu..
This video has been so helpful I just got the call on the phone with no info to look into about having to have a surgery, waiting time for surgery was 3 months away dyk how mentally stressful that is. Need info from woman and Dr if possible.
I've been feeling my bladder and urethra when I tidy myself, for many years. I don't feel a tunnel, it feels like an oval bowl, crossways in there, no passage. I've always had discomfort during my cycles and lying in a particular position would help somewhat. Intimacy was never pleasurable. I was told that I probably lifted something badly and to do a surgery to stitch the strained muscle. I also need to say that due to an accident at 17, I was left with my left foot about ½inch shorter than the right. I often have constipation and have to contort myself while on the throne. I stopped having intimacy because psychologically, it's lowering my self esteem. Currently, I've been having this blunt pain in my lower back and not enough bowel movements. So, I'm just wrapping up a 20 day gentle cleanse, started drinking more water, eating more whole fruits and foods. During the 20 days, I passed out at least a dozen twin golf balls size stools, and lots of twin strawberries sized and chick pea sized stools. Some dark in color, some floating and shiny, the first few looked as if the stool doubled over itself and hardened so like bell shaped and tapered ends. I don't care, I want to see what's coming out. It came out like bends in the last few days and today I got a few big golf balls and a few chick pea sizes. Today is day 21, but I missed a few days so I'm finishing up the course. After this, hopefully I can get an ultrasound done to check around to see what's the status in there. Let's hope for the best... Can exercises help adjust this?

I have all the symptoms but drs won’t listen my pubic pops and burns. I’ve been disabled since 22 from pelvic, pubic, groin, buttock pain with a lump in groin. I’m 45 now and still no Dr can tell me what’s wrong I am an endo sufferer I’ve had 2 endo surgeries and hysterectomy. MRI doesn’t show anything I’m at a loss I’ve seen so many drs. Including hip drs and no one can tell me what’s wrong I’m in so much pain. I can’t sit it hurts so bad to sit and left side of my pubic bone pops and burns.
Mine happened after two cases ( in two years) of bronchitis coughing...and several years of a back injury which weakened my muscles. That is how mine came when I was age 59.
Im 29 years old dont smoke, have kids and im not overweight. I have a bladder prolapse. I discoverd it friday july 17 it freaked me out when i found it the only reason i looked was being intimate with my other half was causing a lot of pain and bleeding. But what most likely caused my prolapse is chronic constipation and heavy lifting. Im still waiting to be seen by my gynecologist. It cant happen soon enough im super stressed out! I wish someone would have told me this could happen! I would have been more on top of my constipation. Iv now started taking miralax and making more effort to eat more fiber and fruits and vegetables. My prolapse is still inside but it blocks the entryway. Iv been working on kegel exercise. I know why women are hesitant to bring it up to their doctor. When i went to my doctor lets say he lacked sensitivity and made a comment about how i should just use more lube. when he should have asked if iv been using lube? because i told him what officially made me make an appointment was one the really painful intercourse an bleeding plus finding the weid mass inside. So to make the comment just use more lube upset me in an already very uncomfortable situation! The good news is the Specialist I've been referred to have all had way more professional courtesy then my primary doctors here over the past few years I have vented on Facebook about how I feel the healthcare system has failed me because I cannot seem to find a primary care doctor that takes a proactive approach to my health I know they exist because I had a very good doctor when I was a kid and my other half has a great doctor as well if it wasn't for insurance I would have switched to his doctor already due to this incident. I have message my doctor in reference to the comment that was made in hopes that in the future I can receive better care!!

I had a hysterectomy with fallopian tubes and TVT. I had a prolapsed bladder. He decided to remove the uterus. Now I have a bulge in the opening of the vagina with frequent urination and pressure down pain in the lower abdomen. This bulge is disturbing and I have never had anything like this and I am after giving birth. What do you do with the bulge? That's what fell from me again
I just went to the er today bc I have bladder prolapse. I had a total hysterectomy and am going through menopause now. I’m only 35 years old. My vaginal wall is bulging out but I am having to urinate a lot and extreme back pain. Also going number 2 seems to push it out more and not frequently going number 2 bc of constipation. What would you suggest to do? #UCLAMDChat
I finally found a gynocologist willing to fit me for a pessary, although she remained unwilling to really check to see what size until I brought in a chart of the different ones with labels explaining. I now have a large gelhorn size, but lived for months with a too-small one. I drink coffee, but had to stop due to a fallen too-small pessary. I fell asleep on the freeway (it was vacant and pitch-dark) and totalled my car without injury.
I had a surgical repair 2 years ago for a prolapse bladder. 6 months later the prolapse happened again. At the moment I am wearing a pessary but am in pain wearing it so I must go back to the doctor to find out if I need a smaller one or different style. I didn’t know there were so many variants but I’m hopeful that my doctor will find me the right fit. Otherwise it’s more surgery and I’m 80 years old and would rather not “ go there “
