    Great video thanks. Showing me places that I will never get to so thanks for that. Don't you just love the FUJI system. I just got, well a few months ago that 200 F2 lens, and wow is that thing sharp. I also use the X-H2S. Keep up the great work.

    Really nice preparation video, Victoria! The images are perfect, as I have seen on Instagram! Did you use the teleconverter or not too much? These trips are rejuvenating the soul! I am glad you were able to experience photographing the brown bear! :)

      Thank you! I am excited for the next episodes as they have the best shots - took me a couple of days to warm up 😅 and no I didn’t use the teleconverter much, 2 reasons, the first is I actually really liked the 200mm focal length it worked great! But also, when using the teleconverter the base aperture is f/2.8, so i didnt want to go up a stop and kept it at f2 🙂it was definitely a rejuvenating trip and definitely what I needed ☺️

    I had no idea there were so many subspecies of Brown bear. After I saw this video, I took the time to research it some: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subspecies_of_brown_bear . In the North Cascades, BC, and Alaska I am sometimes on the lookout when I hike because an accidental confrontation with a "Grizzly" doesn't always go well for the average "human". It will be interesting to see Brown Bears in Slovenia...and the environment you photograph them in...

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I didn’t realise either until I found out about brown bears in Europe a couple if years ago go. Fortunately enough the brown bears in Slovenia are quite timid and shy of humans - i don’t know what they are like in other parts of Europe. But I agree with you there, I would be terrified of crossing paths with a grizzly bear! 🐻

    All that yummy Tele glass 😍🤩 ...
    Now I only wish Bears were not so dangerous because they are so cute and I just want to hug them. Living in California that is a life long dream, so I'll stick to hugging big giant redwood/sequoia trees for now.

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is a beautiful tele and did not disappoint ☺️ Well the brown bears in Slovenia are quite timid and not aggressive to people (unless provoked or startled) but I can imagine that is very different for the bears in the US. And yes, hugging a giant redwood is not a bad alternative, quite a lovely one 🙂🙂

    The little bits I have seen do make the bears look magical. Silly question but are they dangerous? I can’t get a sense of how big they are yet but I’m sure I will …

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are very magical! And to answer your questions, the brown bears in Europe (especially in Slovenia) are not aggressive to humans, they are actually quite timid. People that have been involved in an attack as usually because they startled or surprise a female with cubs. But when I was photographing these bears one of them jumped at the sound of a twig snapping in the woods, so they are timid. Also, I wasn’t sat in the open, I was in a secure hide, being silent for up to 6hours waiting for a bear to appear. And size wise, they are quite big! Around 150-300kg depending on the bear. I hope that helps 🙂

    Great Vlog as always, I’m really looking forward to this, we’ve been looking at these guys. Just a silly question, you packed your backpack, but didn’t leave room for the 200mm, where’s that going to go, I’m looking forward to you using that as well, been looking at the used price, and I’m very tempted

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you very much! And lots of shots and footage on the way! And no such thing as a silly question, I actually re-jigged my bag after the video and the 200mm went in the top right section where the bean bag was, it fit perfectly there with the lens hood on. Well… the video won’t be good for you because the 200mm did sooo good! Especially in the low lit forests but you shall see in the next episode and the best images with the 200mm (in my opinion) are in the 3rd/4th episode 🙂

    Victoria, what picture profile You usually use for filming on Your Fujifilm cameras? I m curious cuz for example standard profile still seems a bit too flat for me.. I was using Canon before and I was just happy with standard picture profile straight out of camera! But on Fuji there is thousands options of tweaking those so…

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For my filming I mainly shoot in f-log, I just prefer it for colour grading. If not I will use Eterna (i hope i’ve spelt that right). Yes there is so many options, I think that’s why I prefer f-log 🙂

      @@wildandfreevictoria Thanks! I just started playing with X-S20.. had to sell Canon gear from some reasons.. probably will also try f-log cuz ready profiles or recepes not always match my liking… Greetings 👋🏻🤩
