Brad Delp was incredible.
Tom Scholz worked for Polaroid before forming Boston. This debut featured the singles "More than a feeling", " Long time" and "Piece of mind". Now you can hear every track on classic rock stations across the U.S.
He also recorded all the guitars, bass, and keys/organs himself as well as did all the mixing/mastering on the first Boston album. With equipment he invented.
Maybe the best debut album of all time. A true American classic!

If I had to pick 10 albums to listen to for the rest of my life on a deserted island, this 1st Boston album would be on that list. It is one of the greatest single albums ever made. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't do every song on this album. If you only do a few more songs then you must hit 'Foreplay/Longtime', 'Smokin', 'More Than a Feeling', and 'Peace of Mind'. But seriously, just do the whole album.
This was from my high school years and it seems like everytime I turned the radio on, this song was playing. I wasn't a real Boston fan like a lot of people are but I can't deny that hearing this song again made me hear it with new ears if that makes sense. I wouldn't mind hearing some more if you wanna play some Biz. Peace

I was 8 years old when this album come out. My father brought it home, and said Son get your ass over here.! He said now listen closely, there's Albert Einstein and there's Tom Schultz. This man invented the one-step, on the Polaroid one-step camera. The first Walkman, the first pedalboard for guitars, his own soundboards, composed all of his music, wrote all of the lyrics. Guitarist, pianist, drummer, and he can also sing, backups. Brad Delp is a man Angel my father said, and since Tom Schultz was so smart he said why don't you be my lead singer! And then the band was born from there. My father says this was the Beethoven of our time. I pass this gift on to you son.! Rest in peace father.!

Boston is one of the bigger bands. One genius guy writing all the music, and one super voice. A lot of people really groove to Hitch A Ride, but it's not one of what I'd consider the top material for Boston. I'd start with More Than A Feeling. To me, that's the signature hit. Also Foreplay/Long Time, Peace of Mind, Don't Look Back. Those are the essential hits.
Those are all great but to me it's A Man I'll Never Be that is their greatest song. Love Brad Delp and that song, knowing he was to kill himself years later, really gets to me. RIP Brad you are sorely missed.

I am sure you have been told over and over again how good their debut album was. I just want to tell you that if I just wanted to hear the song I would just listen to the video. I am living vicariously through you. I remember when i heard this song for the first time and the joy I felt. I am happy to feel the joy that you felt. You react just the way you are. That little pitch bend on the organ solo Tom Sholz did was actually done by speeding up the tape. I believe it was before keyboards even had pitch bend knobs.
2 albums years apart they're soft but electric and every single song is good all the way through ✌🤘
Such a crisp sound, every note and voice on point. I actually think this is better than More Than A Feeling, always have.
Sound quality is INCREDIBLE, especially considering it was recorded in a cramped basement in 1976

The whole album is great. I was 16 when the Debut album came out. It was the first time I got stoned, I was blown away. Still listen to them today.

Guitar player also invented "the rockman"... Like a Sony Walkman... But for a guitar player to hookup to, like and amp and put on head phones just to listen to himself playing, practicing guitar

Someone said it's Maine State Law that everyone owns the First Album, and after thinking about it, What a Great Idea to give this great Music to every household. Listening to this album held so many memories for me Growing up in Caribou, Maine. I am glad it still brings enjoyment to people...

Just to say, if not having been said already, this album charted longer than any other album in history, unless I am mistaken, I'm not looking it up, my point is made.
