Congrats, now use it. After I graduated I dogged the hell out of my guys. They probably hated my guts, but I made them tough and smart. I gave one of my pfc’s my Sapper Handbook right before I ets’d he was the most promising. A few years later he graduated and then he won the Best Sapper competition. Teach your guys. Make them Sapper ready so when they go it’s no surprise.
Thats amazing! That’s my goal with making these videos! And that is to train our regiment and anyone who desires to take the challenge to #EarnTheRight
Poly Physiques ~ That’s why they call it Sapper Leader. You can’t lead Sappers if you can’t create Sappers. I was a hospital corpsman serving with 2nd mardiv in 92. We attended the sapper course. I always found it unique a u.s. navy corpsman to be serving the Marines, and going through an army course. It was cold and tough but we did it. Many memories
Absolutely best training in your life. you will learn more about yourself here and you will learn that your limits are far beyond what you ever imagined. Graduating here makes any future challenge.......easy to overcome. This course WILL change you & your mindset for the rest of your life........Yes you WILL be stronger emotionally, mentally & physically.
Looked just like my basic at leonard wood back in the day.(2007) I didn't go to SAPPER school but I wonder if it has changed. Cool video regardless, those zodiacs are son of a gun for sure. Especially if there's water in them.
Aww, chit.... that dere saper school were easier than gettin' my cousin knocked up, I tell you whut. It was a gud course tu git sum xtra naps in your day. The hardest part bout the class is when the daggone milkshake maker machine broke. And, wouldn't you know, that milkshake maker wasn't gotten fixed until our last week we was dere. Somabitch, it were like one of dem McDonald managers was runnin' the dfac or something. Gots a kool sipper tab out of it.
Congratulations on earning your tab. Alot of similarities between American and Canadian Sapper training. I can still picture my section carrying my Mcpl in the assault boats up the hill at Swan lake. Chimo brother
Thank you for all the info! Would you be able to make a video or maybe just comment on the pipeline for a EN officer? Is Airborne and Ranger school a part of it like it is for Infantry officers? Thank you sir!
Come try the Canadian sapper course. 5 months of hell lol. But for real though my unit is sending me south to train with yall Americans late next month
I had a Canadian in my class. He said this was the hardest course he’s been to. I’ll look out for a Canadian to graduate our course around December then. Best of luck.
I’m an enlisted medic at 1-325 AIR, 82nd ABN and my goal is to have a triple stack of tabs, Sapper, Ranger, Airborne. So far I’ve been training up to pass the RPFT for Ranger school.
Of course you could. When you go to basic, ask to enroll in the program where you complete AIT and then go straight to Sapper school following graduation. Either way, they will accept you if you meet the requirements and you are willing to go! Best of luck!
Definitely go when you can or get a waiver. It’ll be a good look on you career wise. I’ve known several Sapper tabbed 12N Soldiers in the Army and some are double tabbed who become instructors themselves. You can do it, it’s possible!
@@isaachanauska3001 Well enjoy the November life bud. That school doesnt teach much. When you get to your unit the real engineer world begins and it's an outstanding thing to be apart of.
Unfortunately you have to show up to the course with the ability to swim. You are actually suppose to pass a swim assessment and several other tasks at your home station. Your Commander provides a memo verifying its completion.
It’s made for 12B’s but all MOS’s are welcome to the school with a waiver. Majority of 12Ns will attempt the school. It’s not rare at all for a 12N to attend.
As long as you have a waiver submitted. It’ll be up to the school house commandant to approve or deny. I’ve seen Airmen graduate from the course as well. Justification may be the biggest issue for you, but if slots are available, I’m sure they’ll accept any or all.
Is Sapper school one of those courses where you have to give up to fail or is it like Rasp or Ranger school where they can fail you? I just wanna know cuz I want to get the ball rolling for me to go to sapper school as soon as I get to my reserve unit
It’s both. If you give up, of course you fail. But the course has requirements. Meaning you have to earn the required points to progress through each phase. So you can make it to the end of the course and still fail. That is what makes the course difficult. Everyday is a constant battle. I would definitely recommend going to Sapper school. It will give you so much knowledge to take back to your unit. And it will make you a stronger individual in all aspects, in life!
@@PolyPhysiques don't forget the peer evals. You can do everything right and make points, but if you make a handful of people not like you, your chance to get the tab could end with no realization. My old sqd ldr made it all the way to the end, but was ultimately peered out.
I’m not sure I understand your question. Sapper school does not help you get other schools. It’s not related to SF. Sapper school does help you prepare for other schools like Ranger and SF. You go over tactics for the last two weeks which is what you need to understand to be successful at Ranger. Overall it’s a physically and mentally demanding school. So if you can get through Sapper, you can get through anything.
Have you been to Sapper school? There are a lot of RI’s, Special Forces, Marines, and Airmen that have failed out of Sapper school. If you haven’t been to Sapper school and #EarnTheRight then you can’t talk. You don’t know what it takes and you’ll never know unless YOU go. Maybe you can make it a goal to go in the New Year. #SLTW

GREAT SIR
Congrats on winning best Sapper Competition, SIR! 🇺🇸
Thank you very much!
Gone of the days of Toth, Silfes, Douglas, Prince, Adams, Falniko, McFarland. 90ish era when Sapper was just beginning.
I could not imagine what Sapper school was like during its earlier years, but I bet they were tougher than nails!
Proud of those guys!!!

It has evolved over the years. Definitely improvements. And yes they are extremely heavy and when they have a 200+ lb man on top moving violently. 👌🏽

Thinking of VTIPing to Engineer, are CPT’s allotted slots for Sapper school?
CPTs require a waiver to go to the school, but they always approve their waiver especially if you’re gonna be an engineer.
Hasn't changed much since 96.
The standard is the same since you went, and that’s what I like about the school. Sappers gotta #earntheright

I’m an EN officer.
How many different types of explosives and knots do you learn?
I plan on joining within 1-2 years from now. Just graduated OSUT 2 weeks ago.
You’ll learn about 20 knots and all the explosives taught at AIT. That’s awesome if you get the chance to go. You learn a lot!
Man show boat officers at it again! The officer that started the video isn't apart of any of this!!!!
Captain who? No you haven't proven anything. Real soldiers don't make youtube videos about what they're not.
Hes actually just a combat engineer looking for youtube fame.
