Mariano. He's good and he explains. Nothing special about this 3 barrel for me. Quite typical. I do disagree on flatting the button. Even against an overpair we have enough equity. The problem is there are 7-9 cards that can come OTT that make 86s miserable and allow a triple barrel. By the river thats around 30% of the time. Raising the flop makes you indifferent to the preflop raiser and forces them to fold their equity with a hand like AQ. JJ is rare here, and Owen has a wider 3b range than recs. Also the person in position is raising in a 3b pot. He raises enough he could get better draws to fold. I know new solver strategy says to call small FDs and raise nutted ones but in some instances against rec I disagree with the findings. A rec over folds, under bluffs way too much for someone like me to get owned by a higher FD. It just doesn't happen.
@@syfodias-jedimastersame as the stand up game, the last person winning a hand will remain the only person with the nit button and he has to pay a certain amount of money to everybody at the table, in this case could be like 300$ per person.......
Showing bluffs is good if it helps your image at the table. If river bets are not getting paid because image is too tight? show it. Will it put a big stack on tilt? show it.
Depends on who I'm playing whether or not I would show. I like to show tight folds more and see who takes notice and then get a little stickier with them if they seem capable of bluffing.
Yeah, I show it. I like to see the look on their face and reaction. It makes me feel gloaty and releases the inner pranksta. Kinda like a gotcha plus it's kinda funny. Seriously, I got to stop as everyone around me has become a calling station. Although, sometimes it's a good thing.
I would only show to the trash-talker and then plan on never bluffing in the rest of that session. That way, when you have the nuts, you'll get called for a huge pot from the wannabe hero!
It never fails. When I try a bluff like this in the 1/2 and 1/3 games I play in I always get called by that one guy holding a 6. Its annoying at any level of stakes.
The only thing I don't like here is how quickly Brad bets the river. It looks bluffy. Not sure it matters though, because EZ's body language was screaming pain on the turn.
Lol ok I gotta say something. The big guy next to EZ is talking the whole hand. Then the cringe small talk conversation ends and there is a silence. I knew he had to keep jabbering because he's a socially awkward annoying AF guy. I was like just wait. He is going to start talking again about nothing because he's uncomfortable with silence... AND HE DOES. I HATE GETTING TRAPPED IN A CONVERSATION AT A POKER TABLE WITH THESE GUYS! You don't need to bother me anymore bro. Especially with a big hand going.
I very rarely show the bluff... When I do it has nothing to do with how *I* feel. Had a great game just last night where I showed the marvelous whale at the table that I had bluffed him early while he was running hot, then went on to stack him with the nuts for 200bbs twice over the next couple of hours. *That* made me feel good - lol In general I think I should probably show my bluffs more than I do to the regs, because one way or another I have them pretty convinced that whenever I jam they can safely fold. Of course that mindset is useful too, but I'd like them to be a bit more confused. The sound of H: "All in", V: "Call!", H: "I've got the nuts" is sweet sweet music to my ears.
Hello. What preflop ranges should i play for cash games? I've seen loads of different opening ranges, so I'm sort of confused about which ones are best for micro/low stake games Thank you for the great content!!!
@thomasanthony7652 to answer ur question me personally I don't think stakes should change ur ranges much at all u need to find stakes that are comfortable for you and play normal ranges that are advertised and tweak it a bit to fit your style of play. Stakes should have nothing to do w it stakes are just how much is your bankroll and h I w much do u feel comfortable playing for a if it goes bad what can you afford to loose. The millionares playing 500/1000 are plating the same ranges as the guy playing 1/2 they just have the bankroll for it. Hopes this helps
Showing bluffs is a part of the game. You use it to shape your table image or if someone is just being a jerk at the table and you want to poke them. You don't show it all the time, but sometimes showing it can help you get paid big later.......especially if you can get into a similar situation with the same player and play it the same when you have the goods......imo
No, I don't show my bluffs. That's free information. The next time they feel like I'm bluffing, and I've got the nuts (ideally), they lost a good portion of their stack. The key for me has been betting the nuts and the bluffs, flop to river, the same way. Keep 'em guessing. When the story adds up, it pays off. If you put them on a flush draw, and you're right, and they miss, that's a great opportunity.
I show my bluffs to my friends in home games. It's always a casual enough environment with no tilters. Those games are against soft opponents too so showing doesn't matter.
Only time I would ever show cards is if I’m gonna completely switch gears and I want them to think I’ve been doing and am gonna keep doing the opposite. Get to a nice deep stacked table and now it’s time to eat and make sure you get called when you have it next time.
My table image as a big river bet meaning I have the nuts, is too valuable to me, to ever show a bluff. It took me a long time to restrain myself from showing nutted hands, but I'm still way more likely to show that, than a bluff. Sort of a booster shot to anyone wondering if I might make a bet looking like value, to make them think the answer is no. Technically, I am an underbluffer compared to GTO or extremely strong players. But less of an underbluffer than opponents think, so their amount of undercalling to "exploit" my underbluffing more than makes up for it. I'm talking about the river, because most opponents know that my big flop draws are bet like my monsters. Obviously the river underbluffing image applies when at a table where people have a long history with me. Against strangers, I still pay careful attention to my table image, but recognize that things like my VPIP may be very different from usual just due to getting good cards or not, versus having a table image more set in stone regardless of what has happened in that particular session. Occasionally playing a very different style than your usual one, to simulate getting hit by the deck, can work against your usual opponents. Knowing how often to print money that way, is key. If you overdo it, you no longer have an image they're sure of, and they stop making incorrect assumptions.
Great content as usual. Not much EZ can do. He's screwed either way v a good player who has a decent frequency of bluffing. Shame JL succumbed to allowing ads :(
I only show the really good ones, the ones that Madd the other guy tank for hours. I'll show that one especially if he folds a signifigantly better hand.
I only show if they’ve been getting on my nerves. It’s more socially acceptable than the middle finger, so I take the opportunity when it presents itself.
where's the video from the times the river is the 8s? hehe. it's no less of a good bluff, but will get called that time, and non poker players watching these i got a large bet waiting would clearly assume "jebus, what a terrible bluff"
also, interesting question, what would this video have been called if the opp of owen made this call? hehe. would probably have something with "soul read" or "calling station" in it.
Who is your favorite poker vlogger? 🤔

Who cares😂😂
I like Ben Deach the best, because he plays part time to supplement his income, rather than playing full time for a living.
Jman
Corey eyering and rampage
Great analysis JL. We were playing the nit game so I had to show in order to get rid of the nit button.
When is your new vlog Brad? 🤔😊🥇
What does the nit button do?
Last to lose their nit button has to pay each player at the table an agreed amount
@@syfodias-jedimastersame as the stand up game, the last person winning a hand will remain the only person with the nit button and he has to pay a certain amount of money to everybody at the table, in this case could be like 300$ per person.......
He had to show. Its the nit game. You dont get to lose your button unless you show your cards.

I usually don't show bluffs, because I like my opponents calm and non-aggressive most of the time.
"If your opponent is an extreme calling station and calling with any 6 or better"... so every 1/3 2/5 game ever

I agree but I wouldnt never bluff after showing a bluff, but certainly the next "bluffy" bet will be for value for sure
It never fails. When I try a bluff like this in the 1/2 and 1/3 games I play in I always get called by that one guy holding a 6. Its annoying at any level of stakes.

No I don't show. Leaves them guessing.
Jeff is correct he had to show because of the nit game or standup game whatever you wanna call it
EZ looks like Brad and Andrew N had a baby.

Sometimes I show if I think it could put an opponent on tilt🤷🏼. Brad had to show to get rid of button for nit game
I show my bluffs to my friends in home games. It's always a casual enough environment with no tilters. Those games are against soft opponents too so showing doesn't matter.
I showy bluffs quite often because I suspect I am thoight of as tight. However I now get called down mich more lightly 😮❤😂
I don’t show the bluff. These calling stations are always assuming I’m bluffing. That’s enough 😂
So you never bluff?
Only time I would ever show cards is if I’m gonna completely switch gears and I want them to think I’ve been doing and am gonna keep doing the opposite.

Sometimes i show my bluffs, but not my missed nut draws lol.
no way lol
I usually have to show because they call haha
Great content as usual. Not much EZ can do. He's screwed either way v a good player who has a decent frequency of bluffing. Shame JL succumbed to allowing ads :(
I show my bluffs when I feel like it. (or if i'm playing against my dad 😂)
I only show the really good ones, the ones that Madd the other guy tank for hours. I'll show that one especially if he folds a signifigantly better hand.
I show my bluffs all the time then I switch gears & play the opposite of what I was playing keep them guessing .
I only show if they’ve been getting on my nerves. It’s more socially acceptable than the middle finger, so I take the opportunity when it presents itself.
I show my bluff in home games.
i think brad owen's skill put ez in a tough spot. if it were anyone else at the table, i think the guy would have made the call? guess well never know
No keep them guessing
This is why you don't call a 3 bet with 68 😂
They were playing the nit game (aka the stand up game) - he had to show per the rules of said game...
Never show, unless it's part of a plan to tilt someone...
i love showing bluffs make them feel bad about themselves
my favourite is a 2 3 offsuit and when I show people they get all shity faced
I show my value hands so they can fold to my bluffs more often 😅
hey, it's nate silver
Hey nate silver how u been
Is this nate the great silver? Do u remember me bro I'm Jamie gold
I play online so the only way my bluff gets seen is if I get called
If the person is agonising about calling and ultimately makes the fold, I like to show
where's the video from the times the river is the 8s? hehe. it's no less of a good bluff, but will get called that time, and non poker players watching these i got a large bet waiting would clearly assume "jebus, what a terrible bluff"
certainly would change the title of this video, probably not even be released at all if that river was any 8.
also, interesting question, what would this video have been called if the opp of owen made this call? hehe. would probably have something with "soul read" or "calling station" in it.
he had to show for the nit game.
Sumtimes and ace
How can he shove that Gand if thé oppo got k or j hes dead please explain
Brad Owened him
